  1. I can see where he’s coming from mind. Some of the comments around me when it was 0-0 and we were keeping a team who’d won 9 of 11 at arms length was ridiculous. You’d have thought we were 3-0 down.

We’re going to play a new way, we’re two games into the adaptation. BUT if points keep coming, I’ll take a boring opening half hour all day long.

  2. Anyone who follows the unders closely able to enlighten me - feels like in the past whenever I saw we were playing they were beating all comers, but this season they seem to lose whenever I catch a result?

Not a moan or anything - they’re young lads learning the trade and I’m sure a few of them will be stars for the first team one day given our excellent track record of youth development.

  3. It’s been the strangest month for me since I’ve supported City. I felt so powerless when Nige was sacked by what feels a little bit like a Lansdown dictatorship. That win today helps. Hopefully Manning can be the man to build on the massive progress Pearson made with the club. Onwards and upwards 🔴⚪

  4. We’ve had whole months less eventful than that match! Jubilation to fear to despair to jubilations to nerves to relief (and a little more jubilation). Welcome to City Liam Manning, what a way to bank win number 1.

No new knocks and Williams successfully reintroduced.

  5. Another returnee in Joe Williams 💪 and no fresh injuries. Joe takes J. James spot on the bench (though, as in LM’s first game, we name 8 subs so J. James could’ve stayed on the bench but it’s neither here nor there).

QPR was dropped points imo, especially given we have some challenging fixtures now. But a win today and all looks rosy again, and the LM era is truly underway. Let’s make some noise today everyone. 🔴⚪

  6. That performance was Holden-esque sadly. I said one of the worst things about stupidly sacking Nige when we did was the pressure that would be on the new guy. Most City fans want Nige back so a slow start would turn toxic fast. Well we’ve seen it start already, because that performance was painful on the eye.

  7. No new returns but no new injuries, and after getting four back last week we’ll take that 👍 Backwell vacates the bench and isn’t replaced as we name eight subs.

Good luck Liam, let’s get the three points 🔴⚪

I'm not sure they're quite as bad as people are saying, a draw last match and a narrow late defeat to Leicester after being reduced to 10 men. It's a tougher match than some people think.

That draw against Rotherham was their only point in their last 7, so they are beatable. But I wasn't being sarcastic - I really am nervous. Sometimes there's just too many things in your favour, it almost plays against you as it puts all the pressure and expectation on us.

As you say, we have to treat the match with all the respect. They're a championship team for a reason, and under new management. But the lads and LM will know there's no easy points in this league and hopefully they can do the job. :city:

  9. -Manning's first game.

-A chance for first back to back wins in God knows how long.

-Last game before an international break, which we can take good form in to.

-QPR are in horrid form, especially at home.

    -QPR are missing Ilias Chair.

So naturally I'm terrified. 🤣 COYR!

Someone rightly pointed out earlier, and I think it may be worth raising, the GK brought in to provide injury Cover started for the unders earlier, rather than Bajic.

This COULD be viewed as keeping Bajic on ice for Saturday as Max did take a knock making that excellent save against Sheff Weds.

Just a theory at this point, let’s hope there’s nothing in it and they just wanted to give Thomas game time.

Present in Robins Uncut and kicking ball with disabled supporters with the Robins foundation yesterday. So seems he’s alright 👍

  11. Manning has significantly more experience. He’s interesting in that he’s very young for a manager but also has 15+ years experience of coaching and 3 previous clubs. He had all three battling at the top of their respective leagues, though struggled at the end of his MK Dons tenure after having his squad pillaged.
