First and foremost I hope Nige is ok. His health is paramount here and all things football are ultimate secondary.
Regarding his new contract, or lack of, surely his health can’t come into it? If he’s well enough to work, which he surely is as we’re seeing him work, then any contract offer or lack of should be awarded based on merit, finances, or another legitimate reason. It’s vastly unfair if his health is playing a role.

As above. My pops missed yesterday so we were gonna watch it back, but the most recent full match I can see is Leeds (assuming I’m not missing something which is very possible ).
Thanks in advance!

This season is the second best we’ve looked since promotion to this level, despite a thin squad and little spend. Not sure what more he can do. If SL is cautious, make it a 1-year extension for now, just to stop the talk.

RIP Sir Bobby

Dickie man of the match and truly imperious, but as above, Andy King out of position was stunning. I’m certainly not saying it’s a long term solution, but today he was just… wow.
On topic - yea, Dickie is a bargain. What a singing. And off the mark for us too with a winner. Well done big man

Two things I can’t wait to eat tonight - an Indian takeaway, and my words. Keeping a clean sheet with 3 of our 4 centre halves out injured, a mid-game formation change, and against last seasons play off finalists? Unbelievable stuff. Onto Ipswich and hopefully one or two back, but I’m not in a rush for Wednesday. Gonna savour this one for a few days!

McCrorie
Tanner
Vyner
Atkinson
Naismith
Williams

YEAAAAAAAA. Don’t think I’ve ever checked the clock as much as that second half. Phenomenal win!

Played a blinder this international break, three players back from injury. What was that? It’s three NEW injuries? Oh. Not a fab two week break then.
Naismith, Williams and Wells are all out. J. James, Idehen and Knight-Lebel come in. Injury crisis FC is back!

Whoever starts you can be assured they will be committed. We are showing more fight this season than the past two or three seasons. The league is so tight and 3 points today. Dare I say it will go a very long way with confidence. Let's home its 3 points in the bag for us.
Good attitude brother. And you’re absolutely right re commitment - I don’t question that from these lads.

Really quite concerned about this one. If the Naismith and Knight absences come to fruition, on top of our existing injures, that’s an injury crisis with how small our squad is. Plus it’s at AG where we’ve more often than not struggled this season.
On Cov, I notice they’re also mid-table. Is that an effect of losing Hamer and Gyokeres? Both excellent players. Or are they in a bit of a false position and will probably end up higher?
Either way, I’m afraid the lads that do start tomorrow are gonna have to be near their best to get the 3 points, and after 3 losses in 4, that has to be the aim.

Vyner?
At least two more weeks. I take that to mean a month.

Blige. It's looking like Dickie and Curtis Fleming as the centre-halves for Cov. I was desperate for us to pick up another centre-half this past summer, coming into the season with four (one with a popped ACL) was always going to leave us in trouble eventually, especially with our injury susceptibility.

I’d rather see Italy at the finals than Ukraine.
Thats just my personal opinion.Italy are the better team so I’d rather see Ukraine there. And it would be nice for the Ukrainian people.

We are so, so good man. And all fit, I think Shaw and Saka come in and strengthen us further. My expectations for next summer are at fever pitch.
-
Big game at Wembley tonight. Qualifiers can be a bit dull when you’re nailed on to qualify but this is a good chance to get one back on Italy after they denied us a first Euros recently. We win tonight and its advantage Ukraine for second place and Italy may fail to qualify... Let’s ave ittttt

I think it may be time for us to be noisy about this again. Last season, we kicked up enough fuss to get into the NY Times then get two pens in two games!

With Wells waiting for a scan , Atkinson some way away and Benarous being carefully monitored , has there been any updates on the rest I may have missed ?
I'm guessing McCrorie hasn't started training yet.
Tanner , I've not seen any updates, though I was hopeful for after the break.
Vyner too , it was said to be weeks but what is the timeline? Hopefully after the break.I don’t know anything more than you’ve said sadly. I think people may be underestimating Vyner’s injury though - while it’s great he doesn’t need surgery I understand it’s still a bad one so could be some time. Hope I’m wrong!

For those that wonder why I do this list, look no further Conway back so it seems the football gods demanded another striker sacrificed. We’ll hear more about Wells today I’m sure.
Is it me or do we never do well against the recent Prem teams? I know they’re ex-prem for a reason but lesser teams than us seem to nick the odd win. Ah well. 14th is a little meh but with the money brought in Vs money spent it’s probably to be expected. I personally think we’re at no risk of the bottom three this season, so that’s something.

No changes to the 20 people involved in the squad, but Wells returns to the XI over Cornick.
Tanner still not ready, but will be fine post break I’d imagine.

I'd go 30 minutes on Saturday. We'll need his quality.
By the way, another International break?! Ffs
At least England are actually a bit saucy these days. A bit of Bellingham ball will pass the time til the real stuff is back.
-
More good than bad, but the bad has been BAD (Birmingham (H), Stoke (H), tonight pre TC). Defense has been tighter than in previous years (even on Saturday we only faced 4 shots on target, we just let most of them in). Attack growing into the season nicely. New players bedding in well.
Injuries and refs continue to hurt us, but that’s football… we do go get it bad though.
Overall - B.

I would be surprised if Tommy was yet match fit for a 75 min run out. Just my guess. If he was further down the recovery he would have come on earlier maybe?
Heart says start him against Leeds, head says keep him on ice as the international break is just around the corner. Another 15 min cameo at most. Sadly, I think the head has to win out this time.

Actually 11 men because their defender came off injured
Fair point, so the Blackett injury only really evened the playing field!

Taking a (brief!) moment away from tonight’s jubilation, I see Preston are reverting to type. After a shockingly strong start, they’ve lost 2 on the spin by a 7-0 aggregate scoreline. I thought I was losing the plot when they were winning every week.
-
On the topic of the ref, it makes the win all the more sweet when we beat 12 men.
Oh course, I’d prefer a competent/unbiased ref every day of the week, but it’s lovely when we win in spite of them.

I wrote quite a long reply thinking out a few different scenarios but it just doesn’t feel right to speculate. We just don’t know enough to know if the club are in the right or wrong here.
Let’s just hope Nige is well soon and go from there. I think no news may be good news for a bit.
