We actually lost the title of 'Most Third Tier Titles' a few short months ago, when Plymouth claimed their 5th.

Worth noting a win on Friday, which is far from impossible by the way, and we're 2W 1D 1L. And through in the cup. That's a strong start.
I think we should challenge the Dickie red card, but if not we can use Naismith and Vyner centrally and hopefully get back to the strong defending of the first three matches of the season, and scrap another good away win.

Happy 60th Nige. Does seem a really solid guy, the wider outlook in football on him is miles off the mark imo. Sad to hear what happened to his Brother too, life can be needlessly cruel.

We’ve barley got enough centre-halves to play a back 4!
Also - the start of this season is the most defensively sound we’ve looked for a long long time. I’d personally be looking at tweaks to get the attack on song, not wholesale change.

Maybe not the time to say it and if I get some stick so be it - our home support ain’t right full stop.
Let’s be clear the performance today was low on quality. But booing them off at half-time? Shouting abuse at 1-0 down when we play a backwards pass (which is sometimes the right thing to do!). This was Dolman E30, can’t speak for the all the ground of course.
I don’t think our players like playing at the Gate. We’ll get more points on the road this season, the away support stays with them.

I think any and all subs today were in response to a low-quality performance rather than any new knocks.
But our Dickie will be out on Friday, suspended (one match for a second yellow right?).

People genuinely forget we were(are) on the cusp of a points deduction.
Were. No danger of that now.
On topic - started the season well defensively, although of course those standards dipped today with some wayward passing out the back throughout. And Dickie will of course be absent, but that was a horse-shit decision from the ref.
I share the concerns regarding attack. If our only outlets are occasional link-ups down the left and long throws, this season will be another slog. I feel like we’ve sacrificed some creativity for more rigidity. I don’t know the solution to that though, hopefully someone at the club does.

Looks as though Wells joins his competition in the 9 position on the injured ranks. Bell will most likely serve in the central role.
Speculation but surely a very recent injury for Wells given he was interviews previewing the game yesterday, and his lack of a replacement in the squad (we name 8 subs, allowed 9). No returns.
Chance for back to back league wins today. COYR ️

Can’t see Araoye and JKL being on the bench tomorrow after playing tonight or is that something we do? Need Vyner and Dickie to last the full 90 without issue. Touch wood!

Snap.

Key question... what will the display depict?

Its interesting - Rovers have often adopted their 'small-time' (or 'tinpot') aspects in the same way that Wimbledon did in the 1980s, with the 'Crazy Gang' mentality - Steve Hamer, a former chairman, even directly drew this comparison. You'll recall that we actually embraced this at Twerton.
In contrast, it is City's attempt to make the leap into a genuine contender that invariably amuses. Watching you try and then fall flat on your face, as in the 2008 play-off final, is a continual source of amusement. You try so hard to be 'massive' but never quite make it.

@Hot Air my Brother. One question. How can we help? Do you have a question you need answering? A view you want to share? I've had a look through your posts and it's just a selection of random and (mostly) unrelated statements. Put in one post everything you feel you need to get off your chest, we'll do our best to help out, and then you can spend your time doing something more productive and enjoyable than being a nuisance on an online forum. All the best.

My clubs manager and central striker are both scummy criminals and I can't do the buttons up on my shirt correctly.
Nice to see an honest, self-aware gashead.

Making a mini documentary about Millwall and hooliganism, he ended up capturing the best angle I’ve scene of that stunning Matty James goal! Shows it turning right into that bottom corner.

The good days are closer than they feel my friend. Always seek help when you need it - it’s the brave and correct thing to do

Goalkeepers really do have license to do what the **** they want fart near a keeper and it’s a free-kick, a keeper commits GBH and it’s play on.

Not City related but horrible ACL epidemic in the early part of this season.
Both Courtois and Militao at Real, Timber at Arsenal and potentially Mings at Villa, thought not sure that one is certain (but it is a bad one). Crap for the players and clubs.

I thought worked their nuts off today.
Really unusual for Billy Mitchell not to ferret around and influence the game. He did nothing bar one pass out right.
Their shape meant that Sykes and Bell could tuck in 5 yards and Wallace (LCB3) couldn’t find Bryan, nor Hutchinson find McNamara. And Whatmore and Flemming never got the ball and faced up our back four either…James’s positioning at times so good.
Just posted a summary on Twitter with some pics and crayons!

Hopefully not - as I hope there’s plenty of competition - but that’s a week two contender for Champaign moment!

Ah that's a shame. Fingers crossed we don't pay the price Friday and whoever takes Dickie's place tries to put down a marker of their own.
