I’d be amazed if City finished 13th. The players brought in are decent enough, but not a huge upgrade on quality. The players gone have left a huge hole. If there are no further ins and outs, I’d be looking at 17th or 18th. City look far weaker this season already. Reliance on Conway returning, which isn’t until December is a shambles of a decision. Half of the season is gone by then.

I appreciate and share a lot of the current frustration but I think 13th is far from hugely ambitious.
Our defense is looking more sound with Dickie in it and in our 6 games in all comps so far, we've conceded more than one just once (therefore been in every game).
And on our attack, yes it has stunk at times but Hull and Oxford showed shoots of what we can do and I'm sure it'll click. Plus, with a sturdy defense you only need one or two goals to nick a good result.
This isn't me arguing we don't need more signings, if we have any ambitions of a successful season I actually think we need 3, but if we don't make those signings due to our self-imposed and very dumb salary cap, I still think we're comfortable mid-table come May. And sadly I think Lansdown takes that.

Yes, thanks. Only interested as I think a lack of quality is an issue, although agree that we lack depth too.
I agree we're heading for mid-table - at best - but would suggest the reason most teams finish there is because they lack quality (amongst other things).
A separate point - but we continue to be blighted by injuries to key players which really doesn't hhelp. This season - Conway and Weimann already, Naismith in pre-season, Atkinson still out - would all be starters in most people's teams.
Definitely take your point. I think the bottom paragraph is nail on the head. With them - I think the squad just needs some padding (the depth issue). Without them, as we are, I can definitely see the argument regarding needing quality in.

Out of interest, what position do you think we'll finish in?
With no one out/in? I'd guess around 13th.

Problem with this is, the quality we have isn't the issue (imo), it's the depth. Therefore getting one out to bring one in changes nothing.
Ideally we could have sold a young midfield prospect for 25 million and used that money to pad out the squad where it needs it. Oh wait...!
(For clarity - this is a dig at Mr L and not OP).

OTIB IS RISEN. Missed it yesterday. Maybe a sign I should look into some other hobbies? Nah.
Regarding injuries last night - Sykes is fine which is good, no sign of Weimann as we sadly expected. TGH was cup-tied. Dickie came back in. We only named 7 subs, a message?
Injured:
Atkinson
McCrorie
Benarous
Weimann
Conway

Tricky tie this early but get through and who knows where it’ll lead us. Hope we find the right balance between rotation and remaining strong. And really hoping Norwich management have all their eggs in the promotion basket so put the kids out.
Hoping for a top birthday present from City ️

He started raising his hand adking to come off after a gut-busting run. Ran his socks off all night, so think it was fatigue rather than anything serious
Everything crossed one of our best performances on the wing this season. Maybe the best.

Well we got Weimann back! Sadly it was only for two minutes though. Sykes also picking up a knock? I’ll stick him on the list but hopefully be proven wrong on Tuesday. Between the above and the missed chances, my main takeaway tonight is frustration!
Injured:
Atkinson
McCrorie
Benarous
Weimann
Sykes
Conway

Saw someone mention am injury? This true?

A point on the road is good… if you’re winning at home which we’re not. We played well at least.
4 games, 5 points. Very meh.
-
3 leave the squad and 2 come in as we name 8 subs rather than 9. Dickie (suspended), Araoye and Knight-Lebel (were mainly cover anyway I think) are absent tonight, Weimann (now fit) and TGH (welcome ️) take spots on the bench.
A win tonight and that’s a very good first 4 league games of the new season. Lose and 4 points from 4 in the league marks a slow start. Small margins this early! COYR ️
Injured:
Atkinson
McCrorie
Benarous
Conway

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you are in amongst a very small minority of people that have anything positive to say about the kits
Anyone at the club in sales should be listening to the amount of negative feedback they are getting, as I can seriously count on one hand the number of people I have met or read on social media that approve of the kit
Yea totally get that. I think a big reason for me I'm pretty unfussed is because I'm all in on the kits (think they're vital, always buy one, big part of a clubs image) but have no interest in the training or leisurewear, which is where a lot of the issues lie. Give me a decent kit or two every year (and I like the homer, we'll see for away) and I don't care if the leisurewear is a pureple and lime dressing gown with Barton sketched on the back.
-
Finally got my hands on a home kit yesterday (well, a friend did and it was the first time I'd seen one up close). Looked and felt absolutely fine. Agree the third kit is a bit crap but if they get the away kit right they're 2 good 1 bad and the anger over the summer feels a bit silly.

Someone save these kids away day. Bump.

Personally (4213):
Max: Tanner, Vyner, Naismith, Roberts: James, Williams: Knight: Cornick, Wells, Mehmeti.
If Weimann is fit, start him in the 10 role and drop Knight back. Williams to bench.
Hoping Kal lays down a marker at LCB, keep Vyner and Dickie’s levels up knowing they’ve got strong defensive competition.
-
We aren't overburdened anywhere. I think we need all of this squad and 1 or two more. But this self-imposed salary cap could hurt us!

Wow - I thought tomorrow absolute earliest. Either it’s moved very very fast today or it’s been in the works for a couple days but only got leaked today.
Regardless - I like this move. Welcome TGH ️
-
With this be on domestic Robins TV given it's outside Sat 3pm?
-
Well we need more depth, and he's young and exciting so this seems a good move.
I do wish we'd focus on a few more specialists though. Players who will lock down their position and not end up being used as cover all over the pitch when injuries happen.

Imagine if this was the first step of a really elaborate singing announcement, where they got the new player to sign up on OSIB and ask questions about HPC parking nice places to eat in the area.
I’ve never actually been HPC so can’t help you I’m afraid mate… but just imagine

Scary feeling around the Club over the international break if we lose tomorrow.
3 points on the other hand… 2w 2d 1l, good start. Papering over cracks maybe, but will be a big lift for fans and players.
