Not many are worth that imo . As I said before though. The brains trust have backed themselves into a corner really . Want / should apparently be competing top end , now . We need much better players to do that. It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve made a panic signing .
The debacle of early November was always going to have long reaching consequences. Be very interesting to see how it all plays out.

Nixon reiterates on Twitter a point raised by some posters, next few days or not at all.
If the price is 5 million… it just isn’t worth it, right?

2 goals 3 assists in the League already. Can he improve? Sure. How many should be a realistic target.
So that’s on course for 10 G/A for the season which is respectable, especially if he is more of a CM than a CAM. That’s the key bit for me I think. Is he a CM doing very well out of position or a CAM doing well but no more?

Bizarre appointment. Based purely on the name it feels. Which I’m not certain he can spell.

Yea I’m pretty meh about the defeat. Half expected it. Holding out for Tuesday, the lads owe us our first win since Boxing Day. An FA Cup run would lift the spirits.

I love his energy and tenacity… but I need some G/A from the lad. That’s what I expect from a 10. I appreciate he works back so hard and that willingness to work is one reason why we’re (usually) very strong at the back. But our forwards aren’t forwarding.

There’s plenty of areas that could do with more competition, but we NEED a right winger. And we could really do with a creative 10. We play a front three and currently have one right winger, an injured Sykes. Madness really.

This league seasons gone imo. We’re short everywhere apart from LW and ST. Need a miracle for top 6 after 1 point from Brum (Rooney on verge of being sacked), Millwall (pretty poor this season) and PNE (Lowe on verge of being sacked).
-
Third horrid league performance in a row but thankfully I knew it was coming when PNE fans said we’d walk it. We drop our level to match poor teams and raise it for good teams. Painful few weeks but I’m so bored it barely hurts!
Injured:
Atkinson
Naismith
Benarous
Sykes

Third torrid league performance in a row. No goals in that time and truly bland viewing. Where did Boxing Day go?

A very interesting 2 in, 2 out today as we again name 8 subs.
Out - Nelson (just a youngster, nothing to see here I doubt) and… Weimann. By all accounts running on a treadmill in the midlands.
In - Roberts and McCrorie, both back fit! We have full back cover on both sides! This makes me happy******* whisper it… we have a very small injury list right now.
Injured:
Atkinson
Naismith
Benarous
Sykes

Fair play Tufan is utterly shameless. The again after the one they got at the Gate, why not dive!

Removing the emotions of it, it’s a good but of business I think. Going for free in 6 months and slowing down if we’re being honest, this is a good money saver. But we have to have a number 10 close to singing, it’s just Knight and an injured Benarous now. And you could argue it’s not Knight’s best position - though I like him there.

Wow this one’s hit me like a train. But it’s wages off the books and money off the TGH fee, so it sounds like good business and we’re getting the better end of this deal imo.
Not confirmed yet but seems close so, goodbye Andi. Scored some goals that send me crazy and will be strange not seeing him on Matchday squads! And don’t bloody score against us!
Emotions aside - this MUST mean an incoming. We were light WITH Andi.

Birmingham fans expected a City win too. Don’t take your chances, don’t get the points. I’m optimistic we’ll put on a better showing than Brum and get the win - but fully aware it’ll have to be well earned.

Hope we’ve got some feelers out abroad. Seen other Champ clubs pick up gems out of Europe for way less than Twine is being quoted at.

We really made a hash of the opportunity of having GON with us. Seems a top bloke too.
Ironically it woulda gone down like a lead balloon if we’d appointed him manager when he was in the building (post Holden I guess? Can’t think when he was here).
Looks as though it woulda been a great shout!

Sorry for the delay.
He has 7 in 20. 2 are pens and while I accept they need scoring, they flatter his form which is perhaps 12 from open play a season currently. If we are serious about promotion we need someone much more prolific, rather than giving him more minutes (if he is not signing an extension)until we sell for a slightly higher profit to offset the losses already made.
We must change our mindset - I want him to succeed but at home he hasn’t been able to lead the line and far too often is moved off the ball by bigger and more experienced defenders.
I just wish we could not yo yo on players based on their last game. Hence the facepalm!
No apology necessary!
I do disagree but that’s the beauty of a football forum. 1 in 2 is great form for a forward at almost any club, and while two are penalties, as you say they need putting away.
Agree he’s had some off games but to write him off from them is very premature imo. I don’t think I’ve yo yo’d on him, I’ve thought Wells should get some starts at times over TC (or with him) but I’ve always thought Tommy’s a very good young player, with the off games that come with that.

ROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Wouldn’t play Twine wide personally, always looks better centrally
Maybe worth looking elsewhere then anyway imo. That central attack role is locked down by Knight and we have able cover in Weimann and eventually Benarous. RW far more pressing.

It’s a squad and manager that’s easy to be proud of. And Manning’s high potential as a manager has shone through at times in his early tenure. I think he’ll have a long, successful career. I hope beyond hope his first big success is here, and he’s not one that goes onto big things elsewhere and we’re left saying ‘what if’.

The problem with drawing Rovers/Norwich, is if we get through we’ll likely play Norwich. And they’re two for two on us this season!
Scott Twine - Loan Confirmed - No option to buy

Be a very good signing if the money is right. Not sure I like a loan with no option - very short term-ist. He’d be cup tied out of the FA Cup and I don’t see him firing us to the play-offs single-handedly so seems like big wages for no real success?
If we’ve talked Burnley down to a manageable fee and are buying him - much better.
