  1. I'm sure Brenda will be tempted with a sack full of cash. Don't think he is their answer either mind. Thought I heard on the radio yesterday or this morning that if he does leave you then Lampard is in the frame....be careful what you wish for.
  2. A great moment and on his full debut too. I thought he had a really good game, particularly first half. Not afraid to get stuck in, happy to push forward, actually showed maturity in the box when turning a couple of defenders inside out, just ran out of steam and hit a weak shot in the end. Don't think he could have given any more.

    Vyner

Can't argue with any of that but he was so guilty of giving the ball away carelessly (lumping it upfield) on more than a couple of occasions yesterday. Each time he had time to just play a simple pass and thus keep possession. And as for his slice when under no pressure as the ball dropped out of the sky which almost went to one of their attacking players. Agree with doing the simple things and playing yourself back into the side but he really does need to take more care when in possession imo.
  4. For me a good solid Left Back is a priority in January and has been for 18 months or so. JD is clearly not on the bus. Cam Pring is ok but think he is better further forward giving COD competition at LWB. "Someone to stick the ball in the back of the net" would be good but it seems that Wells, Martin and Weimann are on the bus so not really a vacant seat until the summer when Martin and or Wells will hopefully be phased out.
  5. To be fair to him he was already falling backwards when the ball squirmed free. Can't blame him for missing a sitter just unfortunate imo.
  6. I noticed him doing this in a game earlier in the season Villa or Blackpool, I think. Dropped back in when the CH went forward. Good signs of football intelligence and doing the basics automatically.
  7. Interesting, if difficult listen through all the continuing sound problems. Maybe should have titled it Echo Beach. It really sounded like Ian was in the garden using a baked bean tin and a bit string to communicate at times. And as for poor old Mark he was totally ignored on several occasions, the conversation carrying on whilst he was still answering the previous question. Always enjoy though and passes an hour whilst out with the dog.
  8. Should have pulled the trigger 18 months or so ago when Poch was available. He would have been the perfect fit imo. They have now missed out on Conte, a serial winner and will end up with either Zidane who seems to not really want the job, unless he is paid a barrel full of money or Brenda Rogers who will probably crash and burn within 2 years, as well. Tbf the only manager who will be able to manage all those egos would be Zidane imo. Funny though, hope they do just enough to qualify for the Europa Conference league next season. That will be fun for their glory hunting London based fanbase. NOT
  9. And in the Dolman. All very strange.
  10. That was my first thought seeing the thread title, but couldn't work out any connection between that band and BCFC. Certainly not why they have resigned and left us.
  11. Or the cynics may suggest its because his contract is up next summer and he can sign a pre contract in January with a new suitor. Still fair play to him that was a decent performance today.
  12. I thought that was a strange one...but not as strange as the looks he got from the forwards that had made good runs into the box. They certainly weren't too happy.
  13. Can't argue with your sentiments and have had the same thoughts for some time. Possibly a bit harsh on Scott and Massengo but it wouldn't worry me one jot if I never saw the rest of them again.
  14. Just park there and walk to the ground. No ANPR or other restrictions. Used by a few switched on Away fans too.
  15. To answer your question. Yes you can park in Long Ashton park and ride, plenty of people (including me) do so. It is also open til 10.30 weekdays so good for evening games.
  16. Is that what is taught at the HPC ?
  17. Sad, but when I was a young lad I wrote out all the teams names on pieces of paper put all 92 into a hat drew them out and rolled 2 dice to decide each tie and went from there all the way to an imaginary FA Cup Final. Wonder what kids get up to behind their bedroom doors these days ?
  18. Couldn't compete with Dean Smith who has also been spoken to by Norwich.
  19. Tin hat time (and I am no fan) but statistically LJ is amongst our top 5 managers of all time, possibly top 3, bearing in mind all his games were in the 2nd tier of English football. His win rate puts him comfortably in the top 6. His final league positions would put him in 3rd or 4th. Bristol City - Clubs - Manager Stats
  20. No thanks. 3pm works just fine for me. Get home circa 7pm just as her indoors is settling down for Strictly. 2 hours peace and quiet (to read all the OTIB posts) before its my turn with Quest at 9pm followed by MOTD .
  21. Rest up, take your time and get well soon. Your health is the most important thing so lets hope you're soon up and about ,covering a few miles on the 'Moor again in the very near future.
  22. Linked with Watford according to Ostrich.
  23. If you read the post properly you would see that I was responding to the last line of Galley is our king's post not stating something that I believe in. Totally agree that everyone on the planet should make an effort (and I seem to be the only local dog walker that leaves the beach having collected several plastic / glass bottles to take home and recycle) but if the huge nations don't bother then what we do, as a small nation, is a total waste of time imo.
