Apart from losing Pearson the biggest disappointment for me is that it would appear that Manning will get no serious support in the January window. It was obvious that they wouldn't help NP but you would have thought a new manager would get some backing. Particularly with our deficiencies in midfield and attack.

Far too early to assess. Manning had the team for 2 or 3 days training. In my opinion to be making judgements at this stage is a waste of time. Manning needs time and some support in the transfer window. I hope he gets both.

I loved it when a defender thought he had plenty of time and Akinbiyi set off to charge him down. They got rid of bloody quickly when they saw him coming. Or they ended up flying into the sidelines like they had been hit by a truck.

I wouldn't mind a modern day version of Akinbiyi playing for us now. He was a real handful back then and 20 plus goals in a struggling team. What a time that was.

You know very little about Manning like most of us. He has been at the club for about 6 hours but you know he is a yes man. What incredible insights you have on someone you know nothing about.

What has happened to Pearson has nothing to do with Manning. So rubbishing him as a yes man seems totally unfair mud slinging and wrong. He looks a good signing.

I think Manning has to be given the time any new coach/manager gets. He should not be held responsible for the bullshit spoken by the Lansdowns.

I detest the Lansdowns and their treatment of NP. But on a standalone basis , if it happens, I think this seems to be a good appointment, by their standards.

My great grandad went to the game as I am sure many other relatives of posters on here did.

Saw him play this season against Stevenage. To my untrained eye he looked a really good player.

With Lansdown's abysmal record at selecting good managers and the speed it would seem they have achieved this with no plan on sacking Pearson, then this appointment has all the hallmarks of a total disaster.

Average managerial ability! I would say he has demonstrated below average ability for the majority of his management career.

I think that is a real possibility whoever we appoint as none of the candidates are better than what he had and indeed appear a down grade on Pearson.
