FWIW here are the members of City’s squad born a year either side of Han.  Thought it was good context.  Notwithstanding he also cost us €3m so expectations should be higher on the other side of the coin.

he has 98 first team appearances for Bristol City, over 100 career appearances.

@Davefevsdo you have any stats on how many games Massengo started this season which we won? For some reason most of the early victories I recall James and King started and then latterly James and Williams. I think he best performance was Preston away but we only drew that one. Not trying to have a dig at HNM at all just interested to see what the stats are 

They were talking on Quest about the GLT having a 3mm margin for error and having seen the replay I have a feeling that despite the technology the ball wasn’t totally over the line. But the ref had no choice to give it - just a rare occasion where because of the margin for error everyone did the right thing but it could have generated the wrong outcome

His response to that would probably be if, as a journalist, you get paid to take pot shots at myself and my team every week, you should probably elevate yourself from the status of “thicko” in order to inform your analysis and opinions on my team

It’s not just VAR, you should have seen some of the nonsense penalty decisions yesterday in the championship. How Barnsley got a penalty I will never know. Neither system works properly 

We are so lucky that the bottom three are terrible or subject to points deductions, as we have relegation team written all over our recent performances 

I cannot endorse a manager who has allowed us to become the worst team defensively since the glory days of Foster, Nyatanga, Fontaine and McGivern. What is the point

Football is an emotive sport and sometimes you just need to vent mate. At least my post wasn’t ladened with sarcasm.

Sorry this is a bit of a rant, but how on Earth are we expected to make any level of progress when our forwards are routinely expected to score three goals for us to win the game? 

We have Kalas and Klose, two CBs who have both secured promotion out of the Championship before playing in a defence which is more porous than a house on a flood plane during Storm Eunice.

We signed Danny Simpson for absolutely no reason whatsoever despite our financial difficulties and have chosen instead to rely on youth to fill the RB / RWB spot instead.

We are five points worse off after 35 games than last season and in my view the only reason the defence is getting relatively easy ride from the fans in terms of criticism is because the bottom 3 are probably the worst we have seen in the Championship in living memory, and two out of the bottom four have suffered points deductions. This time last year Rotherham were 22nd with 32 points, for example. 

You are welcome to tell me I am being overly negative and I appreciate our young players have improved a lot, and that our future looks brighter than it did 12 months ago. But is it too much to ask to watch our team keep a clean sheet for once in a while, especially given the level of experience within the CB position? Kalas cost £8m and Dasilva cost a packet too I think - it really shouldn’t be as bad as it is.

In fairness we are building equity into our young players which for me is a much more sustainable strategy in the long term

It’s a bit of a wind up that as soon as our home form improved our away form has fallen through the floor, classic Bristol City - the Jekyll and Hyde team
