  1. Some of those comments from a few posters last year don't seem to have aged well. Yes, Semenyo was very frustrating and lacked composure in front of goal, but what a load of toss some people wrote about a very promising 20/21 year old - entertaining looking back though, so I thank them for that. Couple missing in action or AWOL though. And a very much deserved POTM award for Semenyo amounts to a two fingered salute to his detractors - well done Antoine .
  2. Saw it some time ago in one of the tiny galleried theatres in the old vic where you're very close to the actors - some people at ground level are a couple of metres from them at times. Quite intimate. Dave Lloyd and Joe Sims are two of the actors so very "local."
  3. Ade Akinbiyi was the first winner (playing for Stoke). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EFL_Championship_Player_of_the_Month
  4. Would you have said this at the start of the season ? Just asking.
  5. Same here. So Ian thought we would finish lower mid table around 16th before the season started. We are in 16th. But he says NP should go and stands by it Anyway, it was a much better listen with DaveP having a bit of control and giving each person more or less equal air time. Sound quality sorted out as well.
  6. Bit of a basic error which I've never noticed as I've never read it, surprised its not cropped up before. On a different note, I've just realised that this is the longest spell we've had in this division since the years from 66 to 76.
  7. I remember that passage of play and I was also yelling at him to go for the ball, it was there for him to take it no more than three or four yards out. But he stayed on his line. I don't remember Max having to make a save other than those straight at him, but he did what he had to do and had a good game other than the above and I'm not sure Bentley would have done anything differently.
  8. Thing is, and this is subjective, I think Reading have a much better squad/team than Derby (or us for that matter). Its just that they are in shit form at the moment. I'd expect that to pick up and at least match Derbys form. Should be an interesting run in.
  9. The ppg included the points gained before having points deducted. It would give a false indication of form if the calculation was made after the points were deducted. So Derby is 1.3 ppg (better than ours). Reading is .97. https://www.soccerstats.com/latest.asp?league=england2 scroll down to the table.
  10. Looking at the average points per game of the bottom 4 and ignoring any upturn in form/ppg, the following is apparent (points rounded up); Reading 39 points Derby 39 points Peterborough 33 points Barnsley 23 points For me, Peterborough and Barnsley are doomed and its a contest between Reading and Derby for the last relegation spot. I wouldn't like to put any money on it.
  11. Just wishful thinking on my part.
  12. Looked a class above tonight.
  13. Martin kicked the ball away in frustration. Daft booking, but when you have a ref like that its understandable
  14. No. Going back to division 3 and 5k crowds.
  15. Its Reading. Hopefully they're going back to where they came from.
  16. He did exactly the same as he did last week, tried to let the ball run out for a goal kick and their player nicks it off him and passes it into the area. Weak, very weak.
  17. I think he may have got hooked anyway. Short time he was on, he was a liability.
  18. Quite good odds if Reading play the same second half. Apart from the early chance they had, we look comfortable at the back. Hopefully not putting a jinx on it We just need to up the tempo and we could get a couple more imo.
  19. Both teams are currently pretty crap at defending, but City have the edge on scoring being the 7th highest scorers in the division (although Reading are only 6 goals behind with 2 games in hand). 3-2 City. Definitely. Well, maybe. It's possible. Doubtful innit. Probably lose. Anyway, at least four goals in the game imo..
  20. Two draws maintains the gap so not a disaster. But I'm predicting wins for Cardiff and us which will feel a lot more comfortable.
  21. We need to get a good spine to the team and for me, there are a few players I think are key to that; Bentley (needs to dramatically improve his distribution and needs to be quicker to release the ball and cut out the punts upfield) Kalas and Klose (they need to get used to each other, but they are both quality CBs at this level) Williams and Massengo (James as well when fit, they offer a good deal of protection to the defence being first and second ball winners) Weimann (his energy is key) I was going to include Martin but I'm not sure that he can start every game and give the same level of performance. Those are the key players imo and we fit others around them in a fluid/changeable formation. So for Reading; Bentley Vyner Kalas Klose Pring Scott Williams Massengo Weimann Semenyo Martin or Wells Edit: forgot to include the front two !
  22. 74 in the Championship going back to 17/18. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/antoine-semenyo/leistungsdaten/spieler/583255/plus/0?saison=2021
