Despite the feeling that we chucked away 2 points, there were so many positives from the game. Klose looking every inch the quality player he has been in the past. Massengo and Scott bossing the midfield first half and parts of the second half. Cundy getting on the pitch (looked good). Williams getting minutes and making a difference at a time when Scott was tiring. Just about every player being on their game, albeit Weimann maybe a bit under par. Great team performance with plenty of first time passing and 100% effort. The commentators were drooling over Massengo, Scott, and Semenyo, rightly so. Loads of positives even though the late equaliser (which was a great hit) is a kick in the nuts.

WTF do I know Klose played a blinder and we should have won the game, we were much the better team.

Can't agree with that. Martin has taken up the same defensive position at the front post for corners. He wins just as many as Diedhiou did imo, although Diedhiou got a lot more distance on his headers as he attacked the ball really well. Either way, defending corners isn't a reason to select a centre forward, Martin is in on merit - but I would agree that he can't keep playing 3 games a week.

Brave decision to start Klose given his lack of games this season. Hopefully he's up to it, but I just wonder how long he'll be on the pitch. Can't see us getting anything from PNE tbh.

Well, lets hope this happens when they get their inevitable penalty; On 5 April 2017, Stroud refereed an EFL Championship match between Newcastle and Burton Albion. At 29 minutes, Dwight Gayle went down in the penalty area, and a penalty kick was awarded and put into the net by Matt Richie. Gayle had encroached the penalty area before the ball was hit, so this goal was disallowed. Under Law 14, if the goal was scored, the penalty should be retaken. Instead, in this instance, Stroud gave a direct free kick to Burton Albion.

Someone should tell him that Weimann has scored 14. I think he may mean we have lost 13 ?

Watching the u23 game yesterday, I didn't expect Cundy to play as he did. I thought he was an old fashioned CB - head it and lump it. But he appears to be very comfortable on the ball and won most challenges, albeit we are talking u23s. Big bloke as well. Back to Max, I think we are a better team with Max in it despite his obvious flaws and I don't think Bentley would have made a difference last night, he'd be rooted to his line as well. I got really frustrated with Bentley refusing to play the ball out despite players offering themselves for a pass, just lumping it upfield nine times out of ten only for the ball to come back at us. He was also slowing the game down unnecessarily imo by keeping hold of the ball too long. But if Bentley could have the confidence to play the ball out quickly, I'd have him in the team.

Be interesting to see that stat without the Fulham game which is a bit of an outlier.
