  1. He had a very good game tonight, improvement on Bentley tonight imo - his handling was good and he came off his line a few times. But he does need to sort out his distribution, there is a big mistake waiting in that regard. Not just dead ball kicks but decision making when going short. More he plays, the better he will be.
  2. Time to leave this thread, its started already and without a ball being kicked !
  3. Very big call re Bentley, dropping the skipper (you don't keep a keeper on the bench if he has a knock). Might be off I suppose. Not sure about Max's distribution, but we'll find out soon. Certainly freshened up the team tonight.
  4. Agreed, there are some teams around us who are in worse form than us, notably Barnsley and Peterborough. I'll go one step further than the OP, put my chopper on the block, and say the bottom three will be as it is now, but Derby will probably make a fist of it and end up 22nd, they're in relatively decent form at the moment (along with Cardiff and Hull). We are on course for a modest 54 points, but we could get a bit less than that and still be ok, although I think we'll get at least 54 points. Absolutely no reason to assume that Barnsley will find 40 points or Peterborough will find 35 points in the second half of the season given they've only got 14 & 19 respectively at this time. Derby are averaging 1.22 points per game which puts them on target for 38 points, they could get a few more - but not enough. 5. I really like Lathams enthusiasm (how he keeps that after so many decades is amazing). But he's a fan and speaks like it, which I like. Didn't learn anything other than he has "no time of day for Ashton" much like most supporters.
  6. Thanks for the interviews. Not listened yet to Latham, but Owers has great hindsight. I always like him on commentary for his honesty and insight in small bites - he should stick to that imo.
  7. Lifelong fan ? Sorry to pick on these two (could of been a load of others), but it always amuses me that people announce that they aren't supporters anymore as if it matters to anyone except themselves. Just devalues their contribution on this site. Bit like flouncing off the forum with a long post on why they've left - who the **** gives a shit ? Just go.
  8. 18th. But its a relevant question.
  9. Can't see the bottom part of the pitch, may be a ManU player playing him on. Other than that, he's not interfering with play.

    Semenyo

Semenyo is a big positive amongst the negativity and was my MOM saturday. Last two games I thought he's showed what he is really about, pace, strength, and a goal threat, scoring as well as assisting 2 goals. I've complained in the past that his feet are quicker than his thought and his touch, and control of the ball are poor, but the last two games that has improved immeasurably. His touch and control on saturday was generally excellent and his awareness was also vastly improved on his past performances, witnessed by his assists. He's only 21 so the consistency may not yet be there, and its only a couple of games, but there's enough to be optimistic that we have that elusive striker already on the books. The next two or three games we'll find out, but he's looking very much up for the challenge. I also rate Conway highly and it'll be interesting to see his progress this season as well, and with him, Semenyo, Scott, and Benarous, as well as the potential of Tanner and Atkinson, the future is looking ok.
  11. Largely agree (especially re Bentley), but Atkinson was guilty of quite a few hoofs to the opposition. The team looked much better with Pring on the pitch imo.
  12. A simple glance at recent results would show that is bobbins. It isn't great, but lets not start straying into Gas levels of exaggeration. Blocked I would think.
  13. Huddersfield much the better team. We look very poor once again. Huddersfield are passing the ball instead of aimlessly hoofing it upfield with Bentley being the biggest culprit. I've lost count of the number of times he's hoofed it when having players in space to pass it. Atkinson lumping it anywhere as well, its brainless, just giving the ball to the opposition. Semenyo a bright spark in the gloom, he looks up for it. Definite Huddersfield win if we carry on like the dreadful first half.
  14. Scott caught upfield leaving a big gap behind him with no one covering. Poor all round. Can't blame Scott as he's 18 and being played out of position.
  15. Bentley giving up the chance of passing in favour of booting it up the pitch and giving it away..
  16. Shouldn't be too much of an issue for the EFL I would have thought ?
  17. I would think it would be at least 14k to cover the ST sold and any POTD sold. How many will actually be there is another matter..
  18. It would have been much better if the EFL had got a grip and decided to implement a winter break over Christmas and New Year. We now have supporters not attending and clubs being directed to play if they have 14 fit players including a keeper - that ensures a level playing field doesn't it. Not. I understand that it would produce a fixture pile up (postponing games has the same effect), but extending the season by a month is a small price to pay. Its not too late to implement.
