Police looking for City fan (18th Dec Huddersfield Game)

Given the "Gabe" shirts, it won't be too long before he gets a wake up call. -
Here an hour ago..

He was a part timer until 1958 and only went full time from then until 1963. Scored 5 in 6 internationals and then got dropped for the World Cup (despite scoring the goal that got England to the finals) because the selectors (as it was then, men in suits) decided England couldn't be represented on the world stage by a part timer. He turned down the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, and AC Milan in his time.

If we were to win a few on the bounce it would be "I always said Nige was the real deal." Or, more, likely, "I'm glad Nige decided to listen to me at last." Its the same every time we lose, its just a knee jerk reaction every week on a match by match basis, nothing more than that and it adds nothing to the podcast - may as well read the match day thread for that sort of thing.

Today ? I've been there several times for the footy and its always the same, plenty of ? and not a lot of .

Steve Lansdown - What he is doing for Bristol

WTF has it got to do with SL ? It was 40 years ago under different management. -

Its down to the council to accept (or not) any viability argument. As you say, there are trade offs. Easy, very easy, to snipe and spin. -

So, 0% affordable housing isn't actually fact. -

I may of missed it, but I can't see anything that says 0% affordable housing. I saw a part which says there will be a viability test for affordable housing, but that will be for the council to ultimately act upon. Is there not affordable housing in the Ashton Vale development ? -

Shame that he won't be there to see it himself. -

I was working in London at the time and with no internet or mobile phones I was dependent on people calling me on the business number to keep me updated. I seem to recall that it went to the wire and I got about 6 calls telling me the club had survived and players had cancelled their contracts. I knew four of the players, all from Bristol and true City supporters, so I had an inkling that we may survive, but it was a scary time. I'm also aware that the players were put in a very difficult position with no help from anyone including the PFA and a couple really struggled after the event with some being very bitter about how it was handled and how they were ignored after the event for decades. Some may like to put a spin on it and paint the players in a different light, but they were shafted by the club which put all the onus on them and deflected from their own mismanagement. This sums it up from the horses mouths; https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-ashton-gate-eight-6590914# -
There's no data for him, making him ineligible. Doesn't appear to be that reliable.

Takes the heat off of Vyner.

Disappointing but fair result from 3-0 up. Keeper had a bit of a mare for the goals and had nothing to do other than that (their keeper had nothing of note to do either tbf). Idehen and Kadji looked very good. Owers and Morton had good games. Unfortunately, Bell and Conway did nothing to enhance their first team chances imo and I expected a lot more from those two, but they looked well off Championship quality. Benarous faded out of the game despite having some good moments earlier on. Simpson did what you'd expect of him and barely put a foot wrong and Wells had his usual game and took his goals well.

We used to call it pick n run.

I agree, both were knackered well before the end of the game. As I've said previously, Martin shouldn't have been expected to do 3 x 90 minutes in a week. He was competing for lumped balls forward from the keeper and centre backs and getting a battering from defenders. In recent games, we have been much more fluid and actually passing the ball to him, playing to his strengths, but I'm still a little bit skeptical of him doing 3 x 90s a week. Anyway, a bit of a rest for the players as no mid-week game this week, I'm sure some of them need it with the effort put in in the last few games.

We need the ref at Gillingham v Oxford today. Oxford won 7-2 and one of their players scored four penalties.

Agree with most of that. The bit I don't agree with is that City shrunk after their first goal - we came back and scored again, then gave as good as we got. As you say, the best performance for some time. -
Really impressive debut, looked like he's been here for ages. I was a bit apprehensive about him starting - how wrong could I be, he didn't put a foot wrong.
