    'More blue areas than red'?

Not even close anymore is it?

I live in Barrs Court and there are 64 houses in my road. I know of 2 gasheads, neither of whom go as they are retired and can't be arsed, 2 Leeds fans who actually do go regularly and about 40 regular attending reds. This is in an 'area' which is supposedly blue.

    I think not!

Same all over Bristol I'd expect, including the pubs.

The 5-2 was Crewe in the following season (or the one after?) and was Goodridge and Akinbiyi (the ones where they wore the “so stick with us we need you” t shirts). It was also an afternoon game.

The Luton one was a 5-0 - see below:

I seem to remember (which isn't always accurate) that the Crewe game was our first win of the season.

Just checked - it was indeed our first win in the 10th game.

Back on topic, I would say the Palace game was the most memorable for me, it was a chance of the Premier League at Wembley following that game.

Second place goes to the Hartlepool game.

The Man.Utd game was memorable as a one off game in the third spot.

Stokes is a No10, not a CM per se.  We play 2 CMs (DMs if you like) it appears under LM regardless of the rest of the set-up.

I did say “plus one more”, because I think 4 into 2 is too light (for the reasons you suggest), so I want a 5th player.

Id like to see one of them offered a deal, I just can’t see James being the one.  I can see Williams having a chance of being offered something.  Then we are into the realms of what other offers he might get.

If Williams becomes that 5th CM, then we can go into the summer pretty well sorted in the CM / DM position…and recruitment can focus on the no10 (Twine or Twine v2) and a centre-forward.

    Actually forgot about Twine

My view is I don’t think we will offer him anything.

I see the building of a younger central midfield for next season - Bird, TGH, Knight, Murphy already in situ, plus one more.  Not saying I agree with that, and I think there are good arguments to be made for James or Williams, which of the two, I would think Williams is the more likely if we are gonna retain one of the 3 (inc King in that).

    Stokes ?

Although I like the look of Murphy and think he's going to be a good player for us, him and Stokes may (or may not) take a year to get to grips with the Championship, leaving Bird,TGH, and Knight. An injury to one or two of them could see us struggling. For those reasons, I'd like to see James and Williams offered deals. Whether they'd accept is another matter.

Decent pod that one. Ian was calm and not rude. Clearly has a source in the club and pretty obvious it’s Tinnion.  Said that Atkinson, Naismith and Sykes will play for under 23s Tuesday which is good news.  Didn’t like his idea of reducing the league to 20 teams to reduce games though.

Analysis on game was fair and measured.  Good work lads

Just imagine the unlikely scenario where we go on a ridiculous winning streak......but the downside being that the football is poor and the scoreline is mostly a flukey 1-0 win, catapulting us into the play offs.....Happy or not?

I was happy with that in 2008.

TBH he’s probably right, 15,000 and a Mem revamp is all they need. This will allow for adequate segregation, the odd big cup draw, relegation deciders and non-football events. It will also allow the club further opportunity to miss deadlines, fail to apply for planning permissions, ignore building regs, not consult and cross swords with the Greens…. Demonstrating the club’s world class abilities in these areas.

It'll be a housing estate in next to no time.

  8. Few on their closed shop little forum are creaming themselves for the visit of Derby as they will bring a few thousand and get the attendance into five figures.

Comes to something when they have to rely on the away supporters to get a decent attendance.

    Tin pot.

That’s the capacity of the Mem…according to Flash scores. It does however appear they’ve just made up the attendance as well (9300) as Bristol Rovers themselves posted the 7800 figure earlier.

Best to just ignore Flash scores to be honest.

Flashscore have had us as 27,000 attendance a couple of times this season (as well as 27,000 capacity).

That lot would be shouting if they had 9k+.

Not at all. We won by scoring more than them. That is the purpose of the game.

    Indeed.

We won by comprehensively outplaying them in the first half and scoring two goals.

They outplayed us in the second half and scored one goal.

Therein lies the story of the game

Having not seen the game, and as someone who has expressed doubts over Liam’s in game management, I’m just posting here to say I’m not hiding - I just don’t think I’m appropriately qualified to comment today so will leave the debate to the rest of you!

    Thanks for that :noexp:

Was it just me but did Cornick play well in the first half? Good hold up play, coupled with great runs and precision passing.

He had a cracking game imo - why was he subbed, did he pick up an injury ?

If not, it was a daft sub and I have to say it was a mystery to me why we changed shape and just dug in.

Great 3 points in the end, but it was much closer that it should have been.

Thank Christ. Flashscore had that red dot flashing for middlesborough at the end. My heart I can't take it. Get in.

I saw that while watching the game, it was when they had the free kick on the edge of our box.

FFS I shouted - cat shot out the cat flap, Mrs gave me a gob full, grand kids told me not to swear - and it wasn't a goal in the end :sweatingbullets:
