  1. Are there any other clubs who, on finishing top of the division and getting promoted, have lower attendances in the division above ? Presumably because they weren't winning as often.

    1990 Champions of division 3 - 6,202

    1991 Division 2 - 5,929

    1992 Division 2 - 5,850

    1993 Division 2 Relegated  - 5,745

    Tin pot bunch of cretins.

I watched a large part of the second half and I can confidently say that the reason they lost was because they were shite. I know that may be a little difficult for the poor cretins to take in, but thats the sole factor for their loss.

I hate to be the one to ask, but what actually is it?

    **** me !

    Its obvious.

Its a piece which combines the athletic prowess and dynamism of football with the spiritual uplift of art

Even a pikey could see that...

    Yes, sculpture not statue.
Some of you may know this, but new to me .
There's a bloke who does some great local stuff, novel , walks and he did the Weird Bristol books that are full of little explanations of things around the City. This popped up on Instagram and is new to me. The sculpture on the Harbourside, that I have walked past hundreds of times, is Titled "Atyeo" in honour of the great man. Stephen Cox  was the Sculptor .

    The Insta post is below.

I've walked past that hundreds of times as well, never realised it was a tribute to Atyeo.

I'll stop and have a proper look next time I'm passing.

Good to see this sort of thing,,, the museum could be in the form of glass displays inside the concourse walls?

i guess the 1909 cup final shirts must be our most valuable items, if any exist?

One was sold at auction a few years ago for 13k.

I think one of the Utd shirts was sold previous to that for £8.4k.

I was suprised TGH didn’t start against Leeds knowing that he’d be suspended for Forest.

    Yep.

    Bit surprised as well.

Where did you hear this? I can’t imagine that being the case, he seems a very well mannered young lad and doesn’t strike me as the type.

    In his head ?

That’s the age group a few below, that the likes of Ephraim / Araoye / Morrison / Meerholz were part of at that time. Ironically now, don’t think we’ll see many coming off the bench getting first team minutes for the forseaable!

BT mentioned the younger group the other night but Yeboah, Morrison and Meerholtz are still 17 and look to have a very good future tbf.

Araoye is 19 now and has his pathway blocked at CB or LB, and needs a loan higher up the pyramid than WSM - or a brilliant pre-season.

I'm losing track, but are these amongst the players Tinnion was raving about at the Hen and Chicken Q&A? Not the recent Q&A but the one with Pearson and Gould? Wasn't it something like "If you think Alex Scott is good just wait until you see what's coming along in the next batch"

No.  Its likely that both will be released.

I think BT was referring to the u15/u16s ?

He referenced that again the other night.

Not saying the person I was replying to @bcfc01 thinks like others, but too many posters are far too keen to label signings as the “manager’s” signing.  It’s a collective, has been for a good while now.

The level of involvement (and time spent) in the process will differ.  Liam will be more hands-on throughout that Nige for example, but even Nige went out and watched players, but he wouldn’t spend hours pouring through data and clips.  Liam obviously enjoys that side of things.

Which is what I meant- it isn't a fait accompli where he gets what he is given or that he says yes or no after being presented with a player suggestion, he will go obviously go through the requirements for a player with the analysts, let them create a list, then go through the final part of the process going through the data/clips he's received and making a decision.

Where we probably differ is that I think that it will be LMs final decision (as he's said previously), not a decision by committee.

I would think that wouldn't preclude him bypassing all that and requesting a player that he trusts to do the job required, such as Twine. Which would very much be "his" signing.

Wasn't it Tinnion that said his team will go out and find the players and then present their recommendation to the manager?

Endorsed by Manning recently where he said that is the only part he becomes involved in.

With the Forest game two days later & numerous 21s likely to be required with TGH, Pring & Mebude all unavailable plus the 4 who are out injured I think it will be a very young team.

U18s on Wednesday against Burnley in the youth cup, if they win they play Swindon in the quarter final. I think that will take priority over the U21s cup game (they probably won't progress out of their group anyway), so I can't see there being too many younger players for the U21s.

    https://www.flashscore.co.uk/standings/UyzV2S4t/WSPObY8t/#/WSPObY8t/table/overall

The injured players will take no part in the Forest game imo, if the Sunderland game was at home it would have been ideal for the returning injured first teamers.

  13. Game tomorrow night at Sunderland (Premier League Cup)

Normally a chance to get returning first teamers a game, but we don't normally have returning injured first teamers in away games, especially as far as Sunderland. Worth keeping an eye on though.

Back to the topic of the thread, we did some decent transfer business in this window but nothing that's going to see in the short term. As long as we understand that then we are all good.

    I agree.

Short term its a 5/10 with Weimann out and Twine in.

Longer term, some good acquisitions which will hopefully pay off 7/10.

What's more depressing, is only us and Blackburn haven't won a game in the last 6. We both sit bottom of the form league, and we have scored the least amount of goals in the last six. Rock bottom.

    Relegation form.

7 points off play offs and 10 points off relegation.

    Which form league ?

Last 8 has us in 14th with 7th best defence, but 11th best goals scored.
