Someone might want to educate this one...
"The Teds have a much better ground, play in the championship... but guess what, they can't fill Trashton either."Obviously, like all things to do with them and us, there is no comparison.
Our average is 22,179 so far this season which is just over 82% capacity.
Their meagre average is currently 8,039 which is 73% capacity (based on 11k capacity, probs more now with their massive new cow shed)
Why do they keep shooting themselves in the foot ?

Wouldn't surprise me;
"Disaster waiting to happen. Some major defects ready to unveil themselves apparently - to do with drainpipes or something "
"I got into so much trouble about that from the person that told me. Glad I didn't say any more."

Interesting to know how they measure the crowd for a test event. The weather forecast is very grim tonight and might put off some of their faithful from going. Do they measure tickets sold or actual people through the gates?
Same as all clubs, tickets sold I would think.

Blimey ! A couple of sensible Pikeys;
I have just read an article concerning Tommy Widdington, young players and the Teds. Said Teds have just signed a young player from Aldershot Town, released as 16 year old by Ipswich but didn't give up and has fought back, they have paid 250,000 for him and loaned him back for season, he went there because of their reputation for developing players and giving them a chance. All this is a lesson to our own youngsters who were not given chance, don't give up, also a lesson to Rovers , if you don't give youngsters a chance they will not want to come here, as a life long Rovers fan the article does not make for enjoyable reading.
City do a good job on attracting young supporters and families of that there is no doubt.
But they have a user friendly stadium that holds 27,000, so lots of space on an average game to put the discounted ticket holders. Plus, their main attraction is a higher level/standard of football which is the main attraction for the young.
Our new owners seem to be slowly improving our facilities, but without progression on the pitch it doesn’t matter what deals/discounts are offered, the young won’t come in their numbers.- 5

Got mine and Mrs R&Ws - plus our son and his GF - all in the upper Lansdown. The future daughter IL comes from a lineage of plastic Man Ure fans who only watch their team on Sky, so I’m hoping we put in a good shift and convert her into appreciating proper football!!
Anyone know if it’s free beer again this Friday?
Hopefully...
But I doubt they'll be allowed to do that again - probably just pull down the shutters.
(all working fine when I got my beers/grub)

There were over 180 tickets allocated for Lansdown Restaurant hospitality.
I can't see all those being sold at £144 each, so a few to be released later this week amongst others.

Must have been a very quick uptake as I could virtually sit in any stand including the singing section when I logged on at 12pm
I'd expect it to sell out by the end of the day.
(then all the "spare" tickets will start popping up)

Just at the part where it was suggested we drop Knight and throw McCrorie into a midfield 3 for the Forest game.
just listened to it and enjoyed it.
Agreed with nearly all Ian said - except for the McCrorie bit above.
Congrats re Talk Sport.

The excuse is easy, "Bristol City were playing at home."
Only two mentions of their low attendance on their "forum", one of which was accused of being a Ted, otherwise it has been predictably ignored.
They bury their heads in the sand - "its what they do".

On general sale now looks like there are quite a few left but a lot of singles which they may struggle to sell..
A load will come up when/if the hospitality seats don't sell - over 180 in the Lansdown restaurant atm.

I was hoping that would never crop up again.
Thanks

So you think he does it every time? He clearly doesn't .
Can he improve? Yes , I totally agree with that.
Given shorter options he wouldn't even try to find Pring , it's an out ball , and a risky one. He has to clear players and can't hit it too long . Vyner & Dickie were criticised on here for over hitting passes Saturday , it happens. The better we get at possession, the better the options and the less he should have to play that ball.FWIW, I think his distribution has improved and I say that as someone who used to moan about it (often).
His shot stopping is generally very good and he normally comes off his line confidently and decisively, but where he lets himself down occasionally is when he plays short passes to a player who has the opposition bearing down on them. I would say this happens at least once per game and if that pass is to Williams we are liable to concede a chance or goal. The pass is either too slow or he just doesn't see the danger. I'm not sure that is something that he can improve.

They have a whole thread dedicated to attendances and a competition across the season, which I find bizarre.
Someone on there claimed the attendance was 8000 including 500 from Blackpool, and asked where everyone was from Wednesday. They were immediately labelled as a though.
Which is strange as he was more or less correct...

From the Pikeys forum;
Overall attendance : 8,013
Blackpool following : 561.

Anyone know their attendance for today’s game?
I need something to laugh at
I can't see any attendance figures on their site for any games.
But it wouldn't surprise me if it was sub 8k.

Watford are a good side that have had a higher level of investment than us, and imo have a very good manager in Ismael.
I was looking at their results before the game and they've actually been in very good form since the end of November.
Our 4-1 win on Boxing Day is very much an anomaly in their recent results.
I think they could yet finish 5th or 6th, so taking 4 points off them over the past few weeks is a very good return.
Agree with that.
Against a team with some excellent players for this level and who had a clear week, I thought we did well and got a very hard earned point. Four points from the two games against them is a very good return imo.
Pleased with the performance and the point against one of the best teams in the division.

Last five games away, they've won four and drawn one.
Scored 14, conceded 7.
This is a very difficult game, despite our away game against them.

It looks cheap, flimsy and very temporary. It’s going to look very shabby very quickly, which is provably not a problem as the property developing owner will be able to take it down as soon as he has a buyer for the land it’s my guess.
Absolutely spot on.
Happy Birthday Louis Carey!
