    Luton 3-2 up at Newcastle.

Seems a decent game, I was going to watch that but plumped for the PNE game instead.

QPR making a fist of it now 2-0 up at Blackburn.

Wheels well and truly falling off that smug pricks wagon

    3-0 dangerous score line...

    Keiffer Moore on.

All Ipswich 2nd half, PNE literally not got out of their own half.

We are building a top 2 squad in the summer and are moving on from the top 6 squad!!

They may well think that, but unfortunately it aint gonna happen.

Unless they have about 30m to spend.

I hope they don't come out with that guff at the start of next season- I wouldn't put it past them.

Keeping an eye on Aldershot games to see how Stokes is getting on. According to the BBC website he is starting a CB today. Assume they must have numerous injuries in that area.

    Playing in the 10 role.

    From their forum;

"Stokes will be benched soon, doesn't seem the same last 4 games since Bristol City move."

If that is the plan then we are going down next season.  We need proper experienced players to play next to the promising ones.  That's why we bought James and King and gave the likes of Weimann and Wells new contracts.  It's pretty flipping obvious

Its also flipping obvious that most of those were short term options and they would be gone at the end of this season regardless of who is manager. Grooming King as a coach was a bit sentimental on NPs part imo.

Players can be young and have played 200+ times at a commensurate level, they are experienced players in their own right.

Quite obvious that King (moving home to Leicester according to his Mrs.), Weimann (home to Solihull), and unfortunately James, will be gone at the end of the season. Tinnion bigged up Williams so he maybe stays if the contract is right for him.

    New era.

    Again.

I’m glad I scrolled through the thread before just posting this exact point !

Don’t get me wrong in that one game his dead ball quality was better than we’ve seen all season and he looked suited to dropping into pockets to pick up the ball and try to make this system work.

But if there’s no option to buy and is unlikely to be here next season then all we’re doing is increasing his value for Burnley or keeping him sharp for them next season if they come down and choose to use him.

I get if he drove us to the play offs it may be worth it but have the club shown that desire do we think ?

We’ve supposedly built for the future this window which the nature of the deal means Twine won’t be around for.

If having Twine in the team can get the team used to playing with his type of player (nominally a 10), if not him, then all well and good for next season.

Haven’t listened to it, as we all know Tinnion is a bullshitter, but seems as though judging by the earlier posts that Twine isn’t likely to stay - then what the hell did we bother getting him on loan for then? What a waste of money.

Maybe you should have listened to it.

They want Twine and will try to get him in the summer.

As for BTs interview, it was a very interview and a good insight into what they are thinking.

BT is very open and enthusiastic, maybe a bit too open as @GrahamC alluded earlier in the thread, but at least he answers the questions. He made it extremely clear that a number 9 is the primary target (could be from abroad) with a 10 as well if Twine doesn't sign - not sure how that is meant to encourage Conway to sign a contract. The money is available with percentages from the Scott and Semenyo transfers.

Maybe he should be a bit more circumspect in what he says, but its welcome info all the same.

Leeds are showing the levels needed to play this kind of football. And the money required to be very very good at it

They've also showed what happens when you aren't clinical. As the end of the half showed, We are still in the game.

We've made it very easy for Leeds, we should be behind and lucky we aren't.

Manning rightfully looks annoyed, can't string two passes together.

Outnumbered in midfield, Vyner and Tanner awful.

Down to Manning now to regroup, make changes, and get at them second half.

I was at the last game pre COVID versus Fulham.

We had the block next to the Dolman. It was full and the atmosphere was brilliant.

Both the stand and the concourse is blocked off. It was brilliant. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and being able to see the whites of the Fulham fans eyes! 😃

They should do that for every game where there are less than 2k away supporters.

Stand holds around 4k so plenty of room.

I like the look of this, from the very little I’ve seen of highlights.

I said we needed a Semenyo type and a Scott type. This lad and Twine *could* be those players to an extent.

This lad with an option to buy too if he’s any good.

Agreed, I just hope he is ready for the Championship.

If this is indeed the case, then you have to say that Derby fans can have no complaints and the club have played a blinder. We on the other hand - why have we paid more to sign somebody in Jan as opposed to the summer, only to let him play for his old club for now and have him join us in the summer? 🥴

The reasoning has been documented numerous times in this thread.

No but they have signed a Costa Rican midfield player on loan from Forest. How many loanees do they have now?  What's the limit in a match day squad?

Dunno how many loanees they have, but the max is 5 last time I checked.

They had about 7 every season under the convicted little thug.

  13. 1 minute ago, Mr Hankey said:

Not sure how it would work regestration wise, but could it come down to him having 3 or 4 games and his heart not being fully in it, that Derby then decide to end the loan & just send him to us instead? Hopefully this wouldn’t happen, but just a thought perhaps, particularly if as you mention fans start to get at him.

Dunno, I suppose it depends on the contract.

But it may not be easy for him.

Exciting signing, shame we won’t see him this season but adds to a bit of a “fresh start” all round from next season.

Odd dynamic for Derby though, publicly admitting he rejected a contracted and wanted to leave, yet technically sticking around!

It is a bit weird from them.

They have put a positive spin on it by saying they got a better fee now than they would get in the summer and are still keeping the player till the summer. Effectively saying they've had our pants down (after saying earlier that there was no way they would let him go).

But they've also dumped on the player by effectively saying he doesn't want to be there.

First mistake he makes, the fans will be on his back..

This may even get announced tomorrow, as long as paperwork is submitted before 11 then I'd imagine they may announce tomorrow maybe ?

    22:59JAMES PIERCY

Probably need to talk about deal sheets

11pm is almost upon us and clubs can apply for Deal Sheets with the EFL if they're running out of time to complete a transfer.

Once the sheet arrives, with confirmation an agreement has been reached, clubs have got another two hours, or until 01:00, in which to submit the full paperwork.
