Only we could spunk out 2.5m on a player who isn't even going to play for us until he would have been out of contact anyway.....
Absolutely ******* bonkers!!
You really think we'd pay 2.5m and let him back on loan ?

How about Piercy?
He's spoken as well..
17:31JAMES PIERCYWhoa, that escalated quickly
City have agreed a deal for Max Bird which will see him loaned back to Derby for the rest of the season.

If he does go back there on loan, It screams of “we know we’re going nowhere this season”
Screams of a summer signing brought forward to me with the loan back enabling the deal.

I’d prefer he be here learning how LM wants him to play. I do see your point too.
Well, he'll be here for pre-season.
Assuming he doesn't get injured..

Has to be a joke right?
Why ?
We have to keep Williams, King, James till the end of the season anyway and this is probably a signing brought forward from the summer.
And if it enabled the deal, like the lad from Aldershot, jobs a good 'un.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but are you getting the name mixed up with Billy Menmuir? He came to City with Gerry Gow and the Ritchie brothers and was apparently better than all of them, but got homesick and went back to Scotland.
I think Menmuir and Gow were already at AG when the Ritchie brothers arrived.
It didn't work out for Menmuir, although i think he did play for the first team a couple of times. He went back to Scotland (Hearts I think), same as a couple of others at that time - Jimmy Brand (Morton I think) and another whose name I forget, both Scottish schoolboy internationals. City had a production line from Scotland in those days with Tom and Gerry (!) being the jewels in the crown.
I think City were initially after Steve as he was seen as a rising star at full back having played for Scotland schoolboys, but Tom turned out to be a legend for City and Steve went back to Scotland. He played in the Scottish cup final for Aberdeen before coming back down here and playing for Torquay and Yeovil.
Seems the production line is now the Channel Islands.

Interesting then that out of that side only Collier & Lee (elsewhere) “made it”.
Wardle & Harding did have careers in the FL though.
So did Martyn Rogers, played for City and Exeter.

The Gow generation played in the 1970 semi against Spurs. Gerry matched up against a young kid called Graeme Souness. I can’t remember who played in 73, possibly Collier, Mabbut, etc. Hopefully someone out there will have a teamsheet they can share.
I think Spurs also had Steve Perryman in the team who was also in the first team at that time.

Mate. I share your cynicism of the Tinnion/Lansdown regime, and I do think @Port Said Red errs more on the rose tinted than me, but his source is literally Rob Atkinson here. I’d say the only way he could be more ITK would be if he was having a rampant affair with Big Rob. I’d probably leave this one if I were you.
Nice try, but doomed to failure

I've lost a bit of interest as the coverage from the Club is so poor.
I might try and get out the HPC at some stage , but they hardly even give you a few days heads up for a game lately.FA youth cup next Wednesday evening against Burnley at the HPC.
Tickets are free on the City ticketing page.

Really ????
we were allocated 1,200 tickets and when I last checked we had just under 400 remaining which would mean we sold between 8&9 hundred.
thats an awful lot of people that bought tickets who didn’t attend
I thought it was around 900 sold ?

Fair enough, may have already been added. If so that would be excellent support from us IF we are taking 2k+ up to Nottingham on a Wednesday night.
Seems like 2100 may be right with the prospect of another 800 if they sell could be right;
Visiting supporters are housed on one side of the lower tier of the Bridgford Stand (towards the Brian Clough Stand), where around 2,000 fans can be accommodated. The facilities and view of the action in this stand are good. If demand requires it then an additional 1,000 away supporters can be seated in a lower block of the Brian Clough Stand. The view of the game is good from this section and the leg room is ample too.

Will hopefully result in an influx in ticket sales today. Would be surprised if we completely sold out, but should be taking in excess of 2k for this. Could potentially be our last important game of the season.
580ish left.
Max allocation will be 2800 but I'm not sure what the initial allocation was - 2100 ?

So an all Championship tie (because its Leeds) and an all EPL tie.
I suppose its predictable, but still disappointing.

He gives 100% every game and gets in some good positions, always getting a couple of shots off per game, but his control and passing is generally poor, lots of underhit passes. He's young so may improve in that regard.
LM obviously rates him which is more important, but if Twine is fit I don't see where he fits in.

Can't decide whether to have a massive meltdown before the game and quietly slope off post match when we win, or just be generally negative and snipe at anyone employed by the club for the next couple of hours.
Any tips/ideas appreciated
