  1. My debut was 1956 so players would have been, Ernie "Ginger" Peacock, Jack Bailey, Cyril Williams and Ivor Guy who all made their debuts in 1946.
  2. Was it the player who crunched him early on to rough up the young debutant? And boy did he moan to the ref about it.
  3. Taylor Moore two yellows and off in 2-0 defeat.
  4. EFL fixture schedule for 2021/22 news now on OS. Hmmmmmm!
  5. Did the same, pulled into a garage to fill up dressed as an Arab sheik during the 1970's oil crisis.
  6. Probably, when he gets the confidence to make a pass forward. Not all his fault mind.
  7. Especially when no one is showing.
  8. I'll probably end up worse and come back as myself.
  9. Centre backs being wrong side in your first paragraph means those you are wrong sided of are offside.
  10. Yes I get that Dave, but whilst the ball is in flight our players starting from the edge of the box could be in their positions, sprinting past the opposition players, to cover a returning ball with the opposition players still returning to positions and not already set up.
  11. The latest goal kick xcrnario that narks me is when the "two centre backs " loiter in the area which normally attracts 2/3 opponents forward to cover. Having achieved what I consider a slight advantage if we now kick long Bentley waves the defenders forward and after an age he kicks long into an even more congested area around the halfway line.
  12. I'll fall for the woosh. Previous comments referring to swimming pools and not swimming baths. Or is it I'm old school in remembering the not so fancy terms we used back in the 50s.
  13. Surely we mean swimming baths? The Pool was in W-S-M now inappropriately called Tropicana.
  14. Not when the other team, who are streets ahead in all departments, have it, leaving you mesmirised.
  15. Oi Harry, what have we done in the Yatton area to deserve such a "coming". Oh, on second thoughts don't answer that.
  16. The only occasion my now wife went to football was to see Trevor Francis when he was at Brum. She's never been since and not seen TF since. Well not to the best of my knowledge.
  17. Oh no they weren't as this commentary accompanied the goals from the game at the swamp. But of course they could have got the beginning of the commentaries mixed up with the rugby.
  18. Classic BBC local news report at 10.30.pm. Opening line.... "Huge crowds to watch this local derby" What are they on.
  19. Sampson House? Company I worked for, made redundant, went back contracting as they had no one to do my job, supplied a managed voice Comms service and I spent most of my time between London, Brum, Edinburgh and of course Bristol. Was LloydsTSB then. Thankfully retired about 14 years ago. Sampson House? 21. But on those occasions there wasn't to many options to play to a man with enough space to not put us under pressure so he played the ball into channels hoping someone could latch onto it. Couldn't really fault him for playing it safe this early in his City career.
  22. Agreed, but shouldn't stop him making a ten yard pass accurately.
