Will add weight to a view that the hierarchy just cannot be trusted though.

I think we are way past that point! It would surprise no one if a new signing or 2 is confirmed in January to go against that wage budget is full story.

i don’t necessarily believe just signing new players all the time should be done… ideally several would be moved out to cut the wage bill, but that’s probably not likely til the summer now, if we are going to challenge, some quality is clearly required.

We are maxed out on our wage budget already, so how can we bring any in? And we have a top 6 squad, so why would we need to?

I dont believe much that the club put out, including that there is no budget for new signings, im sure its been announced since that we might be looking to bring 1 or 2 in, in january,, there’s propaganda going on constantly. It their new manager wants a couple of signings the wage budget will be found.

I hope to be proven wrong but I think this sesson will drift to nothingness by mid March.

If we can bring forward some summer business that could help but what's the point really.

Have to agree,, unless we are looking over our shoulders by then..

So. That’s a new keeper. £5m signing and Prem wages Scott Twine and 30+ prem games age 22 on parachute wages Adam Idah.

It’s a nest egg. Not a chicken farm.

We might as well not bother then, we got 25 million for our best player a few months ago, a 5 million attacking midfielder in the right age group who has worked with our manager previously and is on loan at hull city shouldnt be out of the question, especially given what weve spent on so much shite over the years. If it is, then why are we bothering?

What about the games under Pearson that we had sometimes 1 shot on target throughout the game, I didnt recall you being critical about it then.

We all know that anyone decent was sold off and replaced with academy lads or first teamers who were inferior to what was sold, in an effort to stabilise the finances. He inherited a shambles and left us a solid mid table team with tens of millions in the bank,,, manning comes in as a super coach trying to introduce a passing game that only 1 or 2 players in the squad are technically able to cope with, when we had been building towards a fast counter team and bringing lads like knight in to play that way.

One swallow doesn’t make a summer. We’ve produced two players good enough for the premier league unless my memory has forgotten someone other than Reid and Scott.  And Scott was bought from another club.

Well theres lloyd kelly and bobby reed scored at anfield today…. We end up selling the good ones and replacing  them with usually, crap.

Delusional is the exact word. Tinnion’s signings when he was manager showed he had no idea of the calibre of player needed for level he was at.  When he says ‘player X from the academy will be good enough” we all take his word for it. If he thinks we will get to the Prem through our academy he’s certainly delusional.

Bringing alex scott through will get us closer to the premier than signing cornick and mehmeti ever will!

Mehmeti was on his weaker side and Bell was on his stronger side and yet Mehmeti was better. I personally believe Mehmeti was the best of the subs that came on and right now I agree left wing is one of our weakest positions but I really can't see any reasons why Bell or Weimann deserve to play instead of Mehmeti. I would love to see him given a few games in the side to give him a proper spell rather than a sub appearance and the occasional start.

Well at least bell has some goal threat, mehmeti has done practically nothing since he signed.

Mehmeti has been so poor of late, when he came on today it was like playing a man short.

Not sure where we go with him in truth, he offers very little from an attacking perspective & certainly doesn’t contribute defensively.

My guess is we are looking at an attacking midfielder & a striker for January, possibly one of them as a loan.

He needs to be moved on, along with quite a few of the others.

I liked Pearson but his record was not that great and performances were even worse than what we’ve seen today over his last 7 games. What right does he have to decide what games he manages?

He doesnt have the right to decide, but his dealing with the idiots running the club for the last few years meant he should have been given the rest of his contract, especially january to continue what he had started.

    Indeed and well said Fevs.

I said to a mate before the game if Manning doesn’t do well after a few games it could get toxic as the expectation is greater; I didn’t expect it to take 53 minutes on Saturday!

If Manning keeps winning, drawing and/or playing well I am sure it will be fine.

If the football is dull and we start conceding/losing games then it won’t take much for it to turn; the patience just won’t be there.

I kinda figure manning has come into a better set up than most have had, in terms of good set of lads and a tonne of cash in the bank, and no imminent threat of relegation.. given we have a “top 6 squad”, which should have been queried last night, he ought to be doing ok as the new chosen one. We all know that we are a midtable side, with not a lot of star quality now scott and semenyo have gone, but theres a lot if teams in and around us who have similar quality.  I dont know if we are good enough to play a possession game,,, but seeing as weve been pretty shite for the last 100 hundred years i dont see any issues with supporters getting wound up with what they are seeing on the pitch, regardless of whether matt withers looks down on them for doing it.

No i’m joking really - but just very ironic that Rennie was fired and the club briefed they were annoyed the players were left under conditioned after an international break as they’d been given rest time - and the following international break, they’ve clearly done the opposite and in a closed doors 11 v 11 we hear this news…non contact injuries -  just rather…ironic and very Bristol City

To be fair, we usually struggle on the first game back after a break, perhaps it wasnt a coincidence?

Sadly for Naismith he isn't one of our best two centre defenders. Dickie and Vyner as a Partnership have looked absolutely rock solid going back all the way through the season and it would be mad to break that up.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong but

Vyner and Dickie 3 goals conceded in 5 games together

Naismith and Dickie 7 goals conceded in 4 games together

Vyner and Naismith 3 goals conceded in 4 games together

Maybe not enough games to know for sure and distorted by the freak Stoke game but Naismith was implicated in a few of those goals

I havent anaylised the results, but fundamentally from watching naismith, im not upset if hes not playing at centre back, and i would also prefer dickie and vyner if they are both fit. Im of the opinion that if manning wants us to play a fast possession game then get tgh signed up and move naismith, and one or 2 others on to free up the salaries.
