Benny was well ahead of his time.

Did he come in here as Director of Football? When that was unheard of in the English game at the time?

Would probably have done well to have kept him here.

He was terrible! Weve been pretty crap ever since as well.

Have you ever taken the very first game of a manager into consideration when making your view on them?

Was it city 0 wolves 6 in bennys first game, the wolfie game? Or had we just got smashed away at bradford, can’t remember which one was his first!

Don't play two holding midfielders against shit teams, imagine the abuse that Southgate gets for the same thing

When it's clearly not working don't replace like for like (Cornick for Bell)

Don't play a non creative pressing midfielder in a crucial attacking position against poor team (Knight)

Don't have our most creative player on the bench and make five subs without using him (Twine)

Play two strikers and get the ball I'm the bloody box

    Simple enough

Have to agree, defensively we are pretty well set up, but we could easily predict what would happen against qpr, those 2 in midfield lack the forward pass, dickie gave that more than those 2 yesterday, and to come out on the last day of the transfer window and say now we know we need a number 9 in the summer is ridiculous.

This training excuse is ******* shit. QPR have won one less game than us since we played them and he inherited a better quad of players. It’s not good enough.

Agreed, plus they didnt sell their decent player. Im not really sure what putting cornick on alongside wells and mehmeti was really likely to achieve

He's not hanging around if the Prem comes knocking though is he! I don't blame him but he makes it pretty clear that he wants to play up there, and sees that we play young players and he wants a bit of that.

Agreed, im pleased hes back and has had a few good games, but im not particularly impressed with that attitude, or they way he speaks. hes had 2 championship games in his career as far as i know, he seems to be of the opinion hes the next roberto carlos. Pring paid his dues for years, vyner has too, they have had loans all over the country and had to wait to get a place in the first team. Some humility might be nice.

My hunch would be just like the number of points we have, we’re slap bang in the middle with regard to our number of injuries.

I think we understandably focus on ourselves but as an example on Saturday for West Brom Daryl Dike suffered his 3rd major injury in only his 5th game in the last year & Kyle Bartley went off injured, too.

I remember seeing Leeds having 9 out injured & Millwall as well struggling with injuries. Cardiff too, O’Dowda out injured since August..

Our issue has been the policy of running with so few senior players which exacerbates this.

Also, the number of games packed so closely together isnt giving enough time for recuperation, the cup replays, which have been particularly full on have  not helped, its a miracle the back 5 have remained available for selection for so long, clearly those players are particularly resistant to knocks, while some others struggle to stay fit

  7. Lots of classics here, my lad stood looking at me shocked when we were in the dolman recently and i joined in a “we all follow the city over land and sea and cardiff” chant,, hed never heard it,, its a cracker

Not for me. Hasn’t done enough in his whole time playing here. Funny his performances start improving when playing for a new contract…. Too often we have fallen foul to that only to be hamstrung by having a player on a long contract we don’t want and can’t move on.

with TGH, knight, bird, stokes and Murphy, along with possibly Benarous and twine, we have enough cover to move Williams on along with king and James.

Our fan base are far too easily won over by short term performance. Perfect case in point would be the amount of players suggested we purchase having seen one half decent cup performance on tv!

williams is injury prone, is on a decent contract and has been missing for 65-70% of his time here, whether that be due to injury, suspension or just not performing to an appropriate level

Have to agree,,, though if he can maintain this level til the end of the season id maybe consider a 1+1 just in case the injuries start again. Apart from the last 2 months, he just has hasnt been worth the transfer fee and wages.

Serious question here but doesn't the manager get involved?

We can assume that the manager was involved with the twine deal, he may have prior knowledge of madube too?

Seriously, Naismith is a centre half. He’s played, what, 3/4 games in midfield for us?

At this point, while hes got a decent left foot, id have to say hes not done a lot for us and will be one of the higher earners… would be nice if that could be freed up and he be moved on. With the knight, bird, tgh and possibly twine signings we are clearly moving towards a younger more mobile midfield, (with a possible resale value)…

Pearson was the unfortunate patsy who was sacrificed by the angry Lansdown, after he dared to reveal that he was being hamstrung in his attempts to develop and transform the team, as per his remit.

Same will happen to Manning or anyone thereafter, if the same or similar scenario deem it necessary.

    Brutal.

But, beware Messrs Lansdown, what goes around, comes around.

I agree, but nothing will come around for the lansdowns,,, SL is a billionaire who didnt want our dirty laundry on public display by a football manager, and couldn’t be bothered to deal with someone who can be prickly,,, if i had more money than god id probably do it too!

  12. Harsh on bell, he’s young, quick, and can finish, and ive never seen anything to suggest he isnt a top young pro. he isnt messi with the ball, if he was he wouldnt be with us,,, playing right wing back whens he most dangerous as a counterattacking forward has screwed him

The previous regime with Orta spending the money pissed it up the wall, there was a plan to increase and rebuild and the new owners also have a plan, unfortunately we aren’t there yet and Elland Road (all of us say it) is an absolute dump, imo 3 stands need ripping down and starting again, visiting your shiny new bits when they first opened made me jealous, also when the wife made me go into AG on the bloody gromit hunt!

My thoughts are with you re the gromit hunt!

Interesting, i quite like a stadium build,,, for rival clubs too, ive been watching the liverpool and everton builds, and watching ours happen was great and very interesting,, will keep an eye out for updates of elland road over the coming yeas, its a big city, spent a few days there a few years ago, and i didn’t know there was such a waiting list.

    Let’s do some simple maths.

Leeds have not sold away season tickets for the last 3 years, fully sold out, you can’t get an away season ticket without a home season ticket.

There is a 20,000 waiting list for a home season ticket, away ticket sales usually go in the order of

There are 3,000 away season tickets. Any allocation over 3,000 then goes in a ballot to home season ticket holders (that don’t have an away ST, or members)

I’m down to about 2,000 on the Home Season ticket waiting list and also a member, the ONLY chance I have of sitting in an away end is places like Blackburn where they usually give us 7,000 allocation, other than those allocations you will always find Leeds fans amongst the home fans generally causing no trouble at all.

By the way, being a member at Leeds doesn’t even guarantee me a home ticket, there’s 30,000 members fighting it out over 10,000 tickets. So to even get a home ticket is pot luck.

I hope this goes some way to alleviating your question about my effing loyalty, you try watching the club you love whilst not celebrating goals and politely applauding when the opposition score!

You’ve read the situation completely wrong, anyway have a good night 👍

Im no expert on the area surrounding elland road, but why arent the club increasing capacity to fit more people in? A year or 2 in the prem should allow at least some improvements, and leeds are always throwing money around for new players? The stadium hasnt been worked on for years has it?

  15. This loan back thing makes sense from the point of view of the wage budget being maxed out, and next year with some departures that will create the space for him. A couple of cheap young signings which dont really affect the budget, weimann leaving to create space for twine, and we are more or less in the same salary position we were on 1st jan. I dont think paying a transfer fee was ever really the problem, and the bhig cup games can only have helped. Would have liked to see a big striker in, but apparently this wasnt a priority!

Williams? I trust you’re taking the piss?

Hes had a good month or 2, but overall, it would be hard to say hes been an impressive signing for us. If he keeps his form up for the rest of the season, then consider another year, tgh is more naturally gifted in my view.
