History wise they are no doubt but let’s not take the figures they get at home because the gate was a sell out today dispite the numerous empty seats

I think their average this season is higher than ours, though ours is certainly getting better. Their stadium is bigger too isnt it, plus only having 1 club in a decent sized catchment area helps?!

Derby are not a bigger club than us for a start, they might have been in the top league more than us but don’t confuse the 2

Derby are bigger than us in just about every area, apart from current league position, much as it pains me to say it.

It was a good performance. Having both Roberts and Pring on the left side worked well. Knight looked far more effective in midfield with James rather than upfront with Conway. Dickie continued to add to his “player of the season” reputation, Max was excellent at shot stopping and a bit more flaky with his distribution (nothing new there) while Mehmeti finally scored with his left foot. We were lucky that Leicester and particularly Vardy forgot their shooting boots today, but even so we were better on the break and with this less possession, neither of which should surprise anyone who has seen us this season. It’s not a new dawn, it’s more a reprise of what we know can work, although Tommy desperately needs someone else upfront with him, if he is to ever start scoring regularly from open play again.

Agreed! Im not convinced at all by manning, but to bring twine in and lose him for all those games has been a hanmer blow to the way he wants us to play. With him/ a championship level number 10, plus the big striker, we could be a different proposition.

The criticism of Manning's interviews is so unfair according to some.

They claim, that no matter what he says, he just can't win.

    hmm ......"just can't win"?

Yeh, that sounds right: same for both on and off the pitch.

If we win I couldn’t really care less about how he comes across in interviews, plenty of other managers are quite subdued,,, the obvious issue is that we cant win to save our lives.

He came to the club as the next Pep. Having read his manual from front to back 5 times, he can see that at this level it just doesn't work. In the absence of a new manual he is screwed, the players know he is screwed and its just a case of how long JL and BT can convince themselves they are right with this choice. Pride before a fall and all that

Agree, but the lansdowns will be sticking with manning until we are at significant risk of relegation, which probably wont be this season. They wont want to admit they got it wrong!

Spoke to someone at the Swansea game that knows Cornick very well from his time at Luton and whose opinion I deeply respect.

He said Cornick's success at Luton came by playing up front off a big number 9 and that playing out wide in a 4-2-3-1 or a 3-4-3 or even a 4-3-3 was not getting the best out of him at all.

Only trouble is, City don't have a big number 9 for him to play off so maybe Cornick is not the problem here.

The big number 9 at luton was adebajo though, and we wont be getting anyone in as good as that!

But unfortunately we have a hopeless manager in charge

I was there, the similarity in mentality with manning is uncanny. Everything is well presented, and corporate, but there is no passion, winning would be nice, but not essential, as long as we get our required amounts of possession, and stick to the plan then its fine. Without kane there was no focal point or threat, like us with our forwards, foden is a great talent but just doesnt create much for england, but no one does. bellingham is one of the most desired midfielders in the world, but has to stick in the system. Id be happy to give it to klopp,,, get some passion and aggression back in our team.

Ha ha. I’ve made my feelings on Manning quite clear and I don’t want him here any more - with immediate effect.
But he’s not to blame for everything that is wrong with this club and he’s not to blame for the fact there are more established strikers ahead of Conway in the Scotland squad.
I’m sure if you could find a tenuous link that you’d blame Manning for the crisis in Gaza.

You cant argue with stupid, hes bringing you down to his level and beating you with experience… ignore is your friend.

Stoke city centre is incredibly bleak. Makes the most run down commercial area of Bristol look like Oxford St.

Im up here quite a lot.. Its pretty bad in places, but id swap the wedgewood estate and factory and trentham for quite a few places in bristol! They talk like idiots to be fair.

According to the hierarchy at AG it was soon realised that there wasn’t actually anything for Alexander to do - Junior had taken on the role.

Im not sure what alexanders role was in terms of day to day, though the footballing royalty comment did for him, but certainly goulds loss was massive.

What’s your take on ‘emotions’ in Manning speak PF?

Your explanation is the only thing i can think of, you dont want your players flying into reckless tackles and getting sent off, or fighting each other when you lose because of emotions…

at this point manning has gone the other way though, the conway goal from that press against west ham wouldnt happen now, or if it did, it would be contrary to his tactical plan. The players are being coached to be passive, it’s no surprise we keep losing.

  12. Im not sure if this includes the cup games, where im sure we can all agree, we gave everything we reasonably could have done, and the place was rocking.

the way we are set up is abysmal now though. Losing twine has been a massive blow, if he comes back and we start to look better i will have some sympathy for manning, we knew we were missing that creative player and he tried to get the best we realistically could have gone for,,, a physical striker that should have come in January, or even better last summer but wasnt signed, The striker should have taken precedence over anything else, i can only assume the lansdowns werent looking to spend what was needed.

    His name is Sid.

His name is Brian, you might not agree with the job hes doing, and this forum is the perfect place to discuss that, but you arent capable of respecting the guy that played 550 games for us. Its a pathetic comment just like most others you make on this forum.

We would need to be able to turn back time and lose to Southampton.

That win against Southampton have made him and Sid invincible.

His name is brian, 550 games for us ought to be enough to remember his actual name, its not hard.

Still see what we spent on McCrory and compare it to money spent on Tanner and cannot understand why. Tanner seems a belter option.

Tanner is stronger defensively, mcrorie is a more powerful runner, and has a good attitude, but they have about as much goal thread as each other, which is not a lot, same as pring and roberts the other side. A decent season for joe bryan and he would get more than the 4 of them combined, and its a problem when we aren’t exactly blessed with goals from the rest of the team.

Amazing window was January! We signed 5 players with not one of them getting any game time and two of which we loaned back despite clearly needing them !

It was shocking, twine being out couldnt have been predicted, but the lack of a front line striker coming in was disastrous.
