The problem is that for 20 years there have continually been bad appointments, but now finally, we are going to get it right with a 3 year plan? No one has any faith that it will be sorted this time, least of all lansdown I suspect.

I don't think Saka has been that good this season. Palmer could easily start on the right in the opening game.
Arsenal have had a very good season but ive not really blown away by saka playing for england, to the point you would say hes a star man like kane or bellingham and who would be key to us actually winning anything. I wouldnt say that foden, grealish or rashford have been at that level yet either though they are all clearly talented, and after seeing palmer last night he should certainly be in with a shout.

Saying your name three times causes no harm unless you’re Bettlejuice Simon.
Casual Homophobia having previously put on a “let’s all be kind” post? kind of a different ballpark.
Right,, so its not sanctimonious when you do it, ok.

Unless I’m wrong Ghostie, you’ve posted in this forum every day this week. Therefore, I would surmise you haven’t “given this forum a break” at all and the sole purpose of your post was to direct abuse at another forum member who you disagree with.
Its a damn good job you haven’t been sanctimonious about such matters before, as such behaviour would not portray you in the best light.
Oh.
While disagreeing with my post a few weeks ago you started your reply with “Simon, simon, simon”,,, But you want to pull someone up for being sanctimonious and it not portraying them in the best light?

It seems bird is much more of a james type player, so it would seem possible that he will be moved on…. It would seem likely that james is one of the higher earners too, and is obviously in his 30s now, its a big spot in the squad to fill, and bird has to be up to it, which they presumably think he is.
ive never been a great fan of williams, not great technically, little goal threat, and is in there to provide the aggression. He obviously had a good month or 2 but is back on the bench now. Injuries have blighted him, and is probably a top earner too, i wouldnt be upset if he was moved on.
presumably king is as good as gone.

Quite interesting, i had to check who his father in law is though, george burley, the old ipswich manager.

What hiatus?
I haven't gone anywhere
Sometimes I post less often because I find the extreme negativity on here incredibly draining. But I'm still around- not that I post prolifically anyway. It tends to just be flurries here and there.
I also don't just block people because they disagree with me, bit 1984ish there Seagull.
I know how the ignore function works, but it's a bit pointless if you choose to *ahem* ignore it's functionality regardless.
Hes a moron pal, just ignore him, makes the forum better.

Yeboah, Meerholz, Campbell-Slowey, Nelson should all be involved in first team pre season as standard imo.
Yes, i liked the keeper and morrison too. Great effort from the boys, they gave everything

This is awful luck, but they are putting so much heart into this, cone on hoys!!

We did have that one season where we saw off about six managers.....can't remember when it was but I think GJ may have been in charge?
Yeah plus souness after we beat liverpool

I think its the embarrassment of losing to us that finally finishes managers off

Three league wins from four. Decent.
We only managed that twice under Nige in 2.5 years.
Manning has done it twice already (the other three wins on the bounce back in Dec) in less than 5 months.
Might be irrelevant, might suggest Manning isn't a complete fraud afterall. We shall see.
It was clear from the watford west ham and forest games, that he had us ticking over really well, there was a lot of positivity around in those cup games! He was let down with the striker situation in january, and had rotten luck with the twine injury, and also, hes had to deal with the aftermath of the pearson decision. Hes certainly made mistakes too, and hopefully theres some confidence around now that we can play out the season with a good run and give hope for the future. It was only last week that yet again he was being personally ridiculed for his communication style,, and its out of order,,, hes clearly a bright successful guy, having some meat head from weston giving him personal grief is embarrassing.

I dont see the problem with getting him in for what is essentially a trial for 4/5 months, if hes not up to it, weve had a good look anyway. Thats as long as we didnt blow the budget for a new striker by bringing mabude in, which hopefully wasnt the case, but who knows with the way we are run.

If we lose all our games from now we are still safe. With the amount of fans on Manning’s back he needs to win as many games as he can. He can’t afford to blood players and then lose more of the fanbase
Agreed, id love to see us go unbeaten now, but having us play some good stuff and actually going for it in games is essential…

Would argue James has made as much if not more difference? James, Knight and Twine is a nice midfield 3.
Agreed, but having the other 2 fit and in their correct positions just makes things better?! The 3 of them are a decent championship midfield combination

Got to give him time, if we do he will get it right. It’s so clear that it’s there, just need to find that consistency. Add a couple in and I really believe we will have a go next year
Twine in at number 10 with knight in midfield has to be making a difference

Losing Morton especially and Travis didn’t help either. Venkys issues must’ve been behind Morton sale.
Yes, and not properly replacing brereton, which would be extremely difficult anyway. Would be fun to see a “new” club get relegated.

His insta suggests he’s getting Ice Cream in Dublin, surely the bots on here can fill us in?
So hes in dublin having an ice cream at easter, is there any suggestion hes been seriously injured by our medical wizards and wont be expected to train for the next 3/4 months?
-
Has anyone verified this murphy injury? Last week it was james being left out cause it would trigger an extension that made everyone lose their shit?!
-
Had a look yesterday, hes got 3 league goals this season, plus another against oxford in the cup. Seeing as his whole game is about being a “bagsman” as he calls it, that isnt enough.
-
Weve been crap for decades, so weve earned the right to be fickle!
im confident though that if twine had been fit we will have got more wins since he signed. The 2 games hes started when fit weve won both.

To be honest if someone had told me pre season that a midfield containing Luongo & Morsy would be top of the pile with 7 games to go I'd have laughed.
Agreed,, mckenna has done a rediculous job!

Yep, it mirrors the whole season and proves that the squad is mid table at best.
Agreed, there was clearly a need for a creative midfielder all along, and a lack of goals from the forwards. 14th place after selling scott and semenyo who were still here when we finished 14th last season shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.
