There’s a big difference between a manager and a head coach, two totally different roles. NP makes no secret that he’s a delegator, rather than a hands-on coach. KP and JD are part of the problem. You can’t polish shit, as LJ, DH and NP all show.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, would get a different tune out of these players IMO. They’re soft physically and mentally, and have no pride or desire to better themselves. They’re more than happy picking up their wages in their comfortable surroundings. That’s not an opinion formed now, it’s one formed over two years.

Can a decent manager turn water into wine as well? That’s what some on here seem to expect, despite SL turning the funding taps off. We are a car crash of a club, and that ain’t NP’s fault IMO.

Agree re players who couldnt care less, but 7 of them were brought in by pearson in an attempt to instill his standards on the rest, but arguably they arent good enough, and the standards havent raised. If pearson cant get them organised and motivated and hard to play against, whichnis what a nigel pearson side should be, then he shouldnt be here.

Yep........age is no barrier if you have the ability to perform consistently at a high level.........which is why i said expensive ?      What ever happened to that 15 Mill..Ha!

We went straight to chelsea and signed kalas palmer and Dasilva with it!

Can we have them under the trade descriptions act…high performance centre my arse.

Yep, pull up in the range rovers and lamborghinis, being fantastically well rewarded for being a low end championship footballer, while losing most of the time,,, with a nicey Nicey chairman, and manager who cant do much about it… not a bad way of making a living!

Have you seen how many goals we have conceeded in what should be our central defenders "area" by that I mean centre of goal 4 to 18 yards out? I agree with you our midfield is pathetic but our central defence is also a concern, along with attack!!

, i have keeper concerns too, and coaching and management.

Simon - that’s the point….I don’t think you could move on Palmer or COD.

agree they arent going anywhere, not sure though that a deal couldnt have been made with pato if he was happy to agree to reduced pay, and if pearson had wanted him,,, but i have my doubts that pato isnt exactly pearsons idea of an attacking midfielder?

I do, but we can have differing opinions. ??

What I start to struggle with is players like Palmer and O’Dowda (and Vyner until last night) not featuring.  I’m not saying they should start (easy Tiger!!), but O’Dowda isn’t even getting a look-in off the bench, Palmer not even on the bench.  They were players who would’ve been involved in the discussions about whether we could afford to offer Pato a deal….imho.

But like the Fishing Trip on Gavin & Stacey, what was said in the dressing room after Forest.

That just looks bad.  In an ideal world we’d understand why.

I would love to see a tell all story on the last 5 years at city, but its possibly unlikely!! I dont know the inner workings, but i dont know if cod and palmer who already contracted would have been involved in the decision to extend pato,,, unless it was whether either of them can be moved on. I think they have both demonstrated over the years that aside from 1/2 decent games per season, they really offer very little, and its not a great surprise that both are out of favour!?

A financial decision….pretty much forced on him, because of the wasteful years of MA.  Nige himself said Pato was unlucky not to get a contract offer.  Unfortunately budgets dictate, it doesn’t become a football ability decision when racking up £35m losses.  I think most of us saw the talent of Pato, but he’d just been through a series of recurring hip injuries too.

Walsh was never staying according to some, so what do you do?

We can’t treat it like playing a game of Football Manager.

I dont think there was a stunned reaction to pato going in the summer, he was a decent servant to us, but really, it was his time to move on. I dont think though that this was affected by finances when we were offering contracts to king and simpson and spending 2 million on atkinson and tanner.

**** me are you that daft. What has he got to pick from? Look at vyner tonight . League one at best. Bakinson has had a ok game for him but he’s not good enough. O’dowda , league one player. Pearson said in the summer , we had to reduce the wage bill , hence  12 players being released. Wake up & smell the coffee , this is at lansdowns door .

He signed james king simpson atkinson tanner and re-signed baker and weimann. Thats 7. We all know the likes of cod and palmer are a waste of space, but at what point do you think pearson is responsible for the total lack of motivation in our displays? If he takes us down is he not responsible in any way?

  9. Well hes scored a lot of goals in his career, and is a good honest pro, however clearly he isnt going to be getting any quicker, and isnt big enough to dominate big centre backs,,, and it doesnt help that he plays pretty much every minute of every game.

Honestly now - still think that?

Yes, palmer and cod coming on when we are trying to hold on to a lead is like playing with one less player.

the only shame is that benarous and scott are similar style of very young player, potentially competing for 1 spot. If one of them was a centre back, or left back, they might get more of a chance

I was surprised we had a game plan.

Agreed, some of our attempts at playing football have been pathetic, kicking it long and playing percentages, badly

Blimey someone  going to stick up for me. Be careful the people on here will turn against you..

Im not too worried about that… you have the right to express your view on the forum and there will be some who agree and some who dont, but theres no need for anyone to be giving people verbal shit because they dont agree
