That sounds interesting.
I have just looked for it - unsuccessfully.
If you would provide a link, I might try to watch it later in the week.
Thanks in Advance.

More Meir than Blurton.
I have a mate from school coming over from Bath for the game. He's been bringing up his 15yo son up on rugby until now but his son has decided he wants to be a Stoke fan so it’s his first game tonight.
My other half is lightwood, bit closer to tesco than mier. Well i suspect the 15 year old will get to see a few goals for his team later!

Morning all. Local Stoke fan here. Looking forward to the game tonight but not feeling particularly confident. Our last 3 results have looked good on paper but the performances (esp against Peterborough on Saturday) haven't quite matched them. Harry Souttar and Nick Powell are huge misses for us but we do have Vrancic who is playing really well and Tyrese Campbell who is getting back to match fitness after a long layoff due to injury.
winning 4 in a row isn’t a very “Stoke” thing to do so I’m expecting a draw at best. Hoping for a bit of entertainment to take my mind off the cold!
Good luck.
My mrs is a stokie, not far from longton tesco, and i split my time between there and bristol…. Im dreading this game,,, i just cant see anyway we will win, which gives her plenty of opportunity for giving me grief!

Im thinking joe joedan might figure in this for some of us?
as an aside, im sure i saw recently, that stanley matthews, peter shilton and buffons careers all over lap at some point, and thats probably 80 years or so.

Yes wieman is good at so many ways but he is not a natural goal scorer.
But that a tough chance
Yes, he reminds me of thomas muller in style, incredible work rate that leads to goals, but not the goal threat of an outright goal scorer…. Lewandowski in mullers case, god knows who in our case.

Might have to wait for a couple of years at least, but I reckon he'd be a good candidate for the OSIB lads to have a chat and a cider with.
Regardless of what happened here, you do get the impression hes a straight up kinda guy, who it would be interesting to chat to

Agreed.........I can see New Zealands Hobbiton FC coming in for him? ....... Sorry to be flippant, but does Jay really look like a 3 mill ex Chelsea player?
No, he doesnt, dont know if its his shins that have taken a yard of pace off him, but like palmer, if we could get his wages off the books at this point, that wouldnt be a bad outcome in my view

Not saying this is the side I’d pick tomorrow, but if Nige went with this, I’m not sure there could be too many excuses for not getting a performance (result is a different matter).
Bentley
Kalas | Baker | Atkinson | Pring
Semenyo | Williams | Massengo | O’Dowda
Weimann | Martin
Lots if people complain about a lack of quality, but to me thats a standard average midtable championship side on paper?

We can barely keep possession as it is, relying on chris martin to chase down and win long balls whacked up to him isn’t conducive to keeping the ball in the opponent’s half. Without joe williams theres very little fight in midfield which means theres little to stop the ball coming back again when we lose it seeing as he hasnt been fit in 18 months
in short, we are shite, you can blame:
pearson/previous managers/ ashton/ lansdown/ the players/ or a combination of all of these.

sounds like a split dressing room. not good when you have a small squad, injuries and results are going against you. Alarm bells must be ringing with the board.
It must be galling for the owner seeing some of this lot not getting game time, or contributing practically nothing when they do, knowing how much they are getting paid.

Palmer you would think and others not in the squad.
I was hoping he meant O’Dowda as well but given he’s contributed to the press conference you would assume not.
I reckon cod is probably the sort of personable young fellow who youd like your daughter to bring home, like taylor moore, and is positive and good to have around,,, its just that he never does anything on the pitch apart from approx 1 assist and 1 goal per season

We're in 18th now! It feels so much better !
More importantly, that derby points reduction leaves them totally screwed,,, so now we only have to find 2 teams worse than us to survive.

Why don't you go and support them then? You clearly get absolutely no pleasure out of claiming to support City.
We are mostly city fans on here, but theres no denying that firstly that comeback for rovers was impressive, and secondly, we are absolutely terrible at the moment

Agreed. Putting Pearson level with Gary Johnson and Steve Cotterill is absurd. Also, why does Pearson get two points more than Holden?
I wish he has got 2 more points than holden!

You are all cynical, their proposal to host the world cup was the best by far, and wasnt awarded due to any corruption or shady dealings.

One of the things that puzzled me about Gould’s 2 interviews, (club one on YouTube & GT on Radio Bris) was his comment that our wage bill should see us “in contention for top six”.
This surprised me for 2 reasons;
Firstly I’m pretty sure it was stated we cut our wage bill by a third in the summer when we released 13 first team players & also persuaded Weimann & Baker to take big reductions to stay.
Secondly I don’t know the exact number, but there are a fair few teams with parachute payments & clearly Bournemouth, Sheff U, WBA & Fulham to name but 4, will pay wages completely out of our league.
Is he really saying that after these 4 we pay more (or comparably) with the likes of Forest, Boro, QPR, Cardiff?
Im sure we are in the same ballpark as some of those clubs, some of those pre covid contracts we are paying out must be horrendous!

I understand he asked to come on the show, so kudos to him, but you can almost imagine boris coming out with some of those answers, kinda waffling, not able to give an answer but trying to sound clever.

Thought the one comment that sounded absolutely unequivocal in the RB interview was that there had been no contact with Shakespeare, and I think you have to wonder whether that’s saying more than was intended.
Club are in a catch 22 situation now. Shakespeare makes sense if Pearson is here, he doesn’t if he’s not.
Exactly, if theres any doubt that pearson wont be staying why would they offer shakespeare a contract?!

How long would you say is acceptable for him to be away from day to day control?
My mrs has long covid and isnt well at all, but shes a teacher and they can be covered, with nige, no one is going to go easy on us because of his health, its much more cut throat

I think this post is a timely reminder for everyone about what’s important, city may be my club, and part of my identity, but as the years have passed, life is lived, marriage/kids/divorce, you have to realise that allowing city and the players to influence your mood and life to any great degree before they swan off home in their range rovers and supercars,, well its a rediculous thing to do.

And would the replacement be the right man?! History says we would balls that up too!

Im relying on Peterborough being one of the teams worse than us this season, along with derby plus 1 other, so thats good news!
