Perhaps a better idea would be to move out palmer dasilva and wells, that would free up a fortune to bring a loan striker in.
the alternative is to sell on the family silver,, alex scott in this case,,, if we could get 8 million or so should we take it? The answer is that the club would definitely take it I suppose
-
Ive no idea at this point who would be a realistic and good striker signing, but hopefully the club has their targets lined up,,, its clearly possible that a younger striker in the lower leagues is the type they are looking at, but whether we can afford the best of them i dont know

£1.2m for a striker. Hardly worth it at this level
A few years ago we were taking punts of 1.2 million for squad players, covid wasnt foreseen, but what on earth were we thinking with some of these transfers?!

Im generally of the view that goading the opposite fans after a goal is petty. However, against leeds its fair enough. Billy sharp is the worst for it in my view

We aren’t being outplayed today though, we are just proving our shortfall in quality when we get in decent areas which we’ve done enough times to be expecting something from this game.
Thats a hull side that have just come up where the owners are hated and they have spent no money in years,,, and they have more quality than us?? You are right, but what does that say about the leadership of our club?!
-
I went up to hull years ago to visit friends, and timed it for when they played us…. They sorted tickets for one of the home stands, and im the only one in that stand wearing a bright red hoodie…. Hull scored first and 50 hull fans were running past me trying to attack the city fans, then leroy lita equalised and then the same 50 fans ran past me to try and attack the city fans again. All good fun, id probably take 1-1 again today.

We might have been better off negotiating refund clauses on players we buy, not sell.
"If we turn this promising player to turd within 12 months, we get 20% of the fee back..."
We would be loaded!
Amen! With Nakhi wells we should get more back, some type of admin fee

Meanwhile..... ordering presents and football kits from China and happily filling the car with petrol 1/3 of which comes from the likes of Saudi, Russia, Libya, Algeria and Nigeria all with similar unblemished human rights records.
Up the Chelski.
I like the visit rwanda sponsoring arsenal for 20 million a year because their president is an arsenal fan, while receiving 30 million in uk aid story!

Ashtons fault.
To be fair, pretty much every player we have sold since cole left had had a sell on clause

I dont really see much benefit in this thread, the good news is that we are 10 points above the 3rd relegation spot, giving someone grief cause their view is different to yours is quite petty

My son, who is now a GP, used to work in A&E in his early days. One day they had a lady in complaining of a violent itch 'downstairs'. Son had a thorough look around and a good rummage and found a small, hard object that seemed to be the source of the problem. Upon though investigation it turned out to be a scrunched up, sticky blue label bearing the word 'Fyffes', the like of which you see on bananas. The lady offered no explanation and expressed surprise at the discovery.
Someone i used to know was at cranfield military hospital,,,, one of the less popular recruits ended up having a live hand grenade inserted in him,,, with the pin still in obviously,,,, though there was some hesitation about how to get it out with dislodging the pin.

Just read that brentford have introduced this,,, i remember as a kid this was always the case,,, our old hirerite kits seemed the same for ever?!
seems like this is a really good idea, and if people know the kits will stay for 2 years they might be more inclined to buy one? Other environmental factors were noted, but this is a fairly murky area in terms of milking parents every summer if you ask me?- 2

Harry obviously has a lot of knowledge on this area, but we have obviously recruited cundy tanner and atkinson from lower leagues, pring was from cheltenham I think and has now made the squad for most of this season, and we all know scott came over from geurnsey, and bakinson came from luton with hinds,so these are all transfers from lower leagues for young players.

This isn't really true IMO. Fans simply forget how bad we were last season.
Last season we were, statistically, the worst team in the league. Ignore big shiny stadiums, attendances, wage bills, transfer fees, size of clubs etc for a moment. The actual on field side that Pearson inherited was performing at lower standard than all 3 relegated teams - financially crippled Sheffield Wednesday, perennial Championship relegation fodder Rotherham, and resource-less Championship newbies Wycombe.
Imagine we were neutrals looking on at Pearson inheriting that Wycombe side for a Championship season - what would our expectations have been for him/them? Of course we have much better resources than a club like Wycombe, but from a purely footballing performance based perspective it's a reasonable comparison.
Statistically, we're no longer the worst team in the league, we're about the 7th worst team in the league (depending on your source of data). Personally, I also think we look a little bit better than last season - that small improvement is visible to the eye IMO. We've also cut the wage bill in making that change.
This is technically progress and improvement. I appreciate that it's relatively slow, frustrating progress. I also appreciate it's depressing that being the 7th worst in the league constitutes progress for us, but that's where we are.
quite interesting that! I guess an accurate measure of pearsons performance is to list the championship in terms of wage bill,,, a club 10th on the list for example ought to be performing roughly at that level. I suppose it can then vary depending on possession stats, fan satisfaction etc, but by most metrics, we are generally performing poorly i would guess, perhaps apart from minutes played by young players?!

Yep, waste of a wage, we need some spirit amongst the squad, but surely someone who can contribute can do this?

Gutted about Williams. He’s made the difference the last couple of games personally and bringing out the best in others.
Yes,,, for us to select that young midfield is a big worry,, you have to say that the signing of williams has been snake bitten from day 1,, he just cant stay fit, and cost a lot of money.

I’ve stayed in the holiday inn by J15 and that was bad enough. The only good thing about Stoke is the A50 towards Alton Towers
To be fair tom, if you went for a wander around the wedgewood estate, or around trentham gardens you might find they are more pleasing than the a50.

Fantastic striker,, but i think some of those things are an instinct only possessed by elite level players,,, he could work with semenyo for 10 years and couldnt teach him those things… ( no disrespect to antoine, it applies to most players!)
