Of course..but these fixtures just don't happen anymore, and if as many do, want them to fold, they never will. Suppose I can take the laid back view over them, because I moved from Bristol when I was 16, but never lost the passion for City, never will.

The rivalry at school was massive, but my sister married a gas head, and to be honest I used to go to Eastville with him and his mates, but never wanting a gas win. But he used to come with me to the Gate too, and those Wembley finals too, he always, he said wanted a City win.

Those days at Eastville, and AG were massive local derbies, and I am glad I have those memories, some fantastic players, Harold Jarman, Alfie Biggs, Big John, brilliant.

Anyway thanks for all the bites, best fun I have had for ages.

So basically you are a Sag

Enjoy your bites fewer and enjoy the relegation party

  4. I see the Sags are still concerned that appointing Joey Barton will spoil their image , and reputation as a ‘Family Club’

    ?

Meanwhile one of the sags has other concerns if Barton arrives ?

If it is Barton I bloody hope he doesn't live in the city centre.

I still spot Darrell **** off dogs stickers in and around the city.

Its not the kindest of rivalries.

I think there’s a lot of bitterness about how LJ was backed and SC wasn’t to the same extent - especially when you factor in the rumours of Cotterill’s negotiated deals being scuppered in 2015.

I have sympathy with that point of view, but do not understand how it extends to a bizarre personal dislike of LJ. He couldn’t help that situation and had no involvement in it.

    Was he backed inordinately? Probably.

Should he have been sacked earlier? Yes.

Did he give his all and ultimately leave us stronger? Yes.

Unless the manager has an impact like Pulis, I don’t see why you wouldn’t want our former managers to do well in the future. Same as our former players - it’s great to see Reid, Bryan, Brownhill and Webster doing well.

    I’ll put my hands up

    Defended him as a player

As a coach , clearly had some qualities but has a lot to learn as a Head Coach / ‘Manager of a side’

What I couldn’t abide was his bull*** , and particularly his ego, arrogance and over inflated opinion of himself , way above his actual capability

I met him and was privy to, and part of a couple of conversations , discussions with him , and he came across as a nice enough bloke but some of his comments made me cringe

Am totally at peace now as she is no longer suffering. Still get upset but that's normal. Problem now is my 96yo Dad who's life has been upended. Gone to live with my Sister in Seaford near Noarlunga but not sure he has the will to continue much longer. Mums ashes and death cert arrived on Friday and all he wanted to do was buy her a red rose for Valentine's day like he has each time for 72 years. Shed a tear I must admit.

    Thoughts with you Tone

The pain doesn’t stop - Feel for you and your sister and you’re poor Dad so much

Doesnt matter how physically strong you are - it hurts like nothing else

The best saying I heard was

Everyday is a bad day to start , then you have the odd better day , and gradually you start to have more better days than bad ones ‘

Hate these type of statements/reactions as it plays into the Gas hands. Lumps City (1 point off 7th in the championship) in the same boat as Rovers (heading for the fourth tier). 20 years since they've been above is in the league, don't mention them in the same breath as us.

Think you miss the point - and it’s true by the way

    Never mind

We've had 3 key players come back from injury, and got a rid of a manager who seemed to have lot the plot (although he may well have had reasons for that), and our opponents would have been fielding a weakened team - so no reason not to want to play.  We will have Tuesday night games every week into April now, assuming there are no further postponements.  I think the majority of teams just want to keep playing now, as most have been affected by having matches called off due to Covid.  Hoping that we can all be back in the stadiums for next season.

How many games at the Mem have been called off because of an unfit pitch?  I can't recall a game ever being called off at the gate since one against the Gas many years ago because of frozen rain (and that had nothing to do with the pitch).

You have to say our pitch looks as good if not better than any pitch I’ve seen recently - and with the egg chasers playing there too that’s some achievement

    * The suspicious in me wonders whether the composition of our Desso is different to others and a possible contributor to our injuries

    The short version is...

Everything I did was right, it's the managers fault and we are brilliant.

Judging by everything on FB/Twitter etc, both of their fans disagree .

    ???

Similar level of bull**** as our CEO and under similar scrutiny by fans

But at least Ashton delivers his with a smooth tongue and doesn’t look like an angry bin man

Mind you , our head of recruitment’s direct football experience was as a Teenage goalkeeper at WBA

So the Director of Football says the recruitment was right, that they have a good squad and the managers have got 80% of what they wanted.
I'm thinking the managers asked for 8 cups of tea and 2 new players, got their tea didn't they?

He has really thrown the last two managers under the Bus. As he would have been involved in recruitment he seems to be laying the whole blame on Garner and Tisdale, which is fine. Puts a lot of pressure on him as temporary manager and the new bloke to get results.
Big game Saturday, if they don't win it really could mean trouble. I hope our own Jojo Woolacott has a very good game.
