Would the person(s) who decided to empty a food waste bin onto my car, leaving half-eaten chicken bones across my windscreen like to man the **** up and admit to it. Drake Road, just near the junction with Smythe Road.

I know it was the person from the car parked directly behind me. I’d guess it’s because you were annoyed that it was a tightly packed space and would’ve been a difficult manoeuvre out of your space. But it was do-able - if you actually had any capability to drive!!

Would you care to explain yourself. And perhaps you’d like to meet me at the next home game, apologise directly to me, and wipe my window clean.

    Show yourself ………….

Safe to say you’ve got a bone to pick with someone.

  2. Very disappointed by the result. We deserved at least a point. However, lots of positives.

The sort of energetic performance lots of us have been looking for.

5 academy products  in the first 11.

    Another excellent display by Scott.

Vyner and Kalas looked a good pairing

4-3-3 gave us good shape going both ways.

    Semenyo looked a handful again.

    Another encouraging performance by O’Dowda

If this is the blueprint going forward with us gradually improving the squad then I’m happy with that.

    You beat me to it.

Some really useful stuff in here….as always.  Swiss and Kieran are the go-to twitter accounts re football finance.

I thought this was interesting, their estimate of covid allowances £3 and £15m.

Looking at the QPR Forum, some of their fans think City are in for a points deduction; https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/forum/280396/bristol-city-(bang-in-trouble)/#32

Lot’s of financial illiteracy around the football world myself included. For those of us with absolutely no experience of reading/understanding balance sheets could one of the enlightened posters please correct me? Looking at the data from Swiss ramble due to potential Covid allowances etc our FFP position actually looks relatively healthy. A rolling 3 year figure of £4M against an allowable allowance of £39M.

Doesn’t seem correct. Have I completely misunderstood the analysis? I suspect the answer to that is yes?.

10 games since Downing left. In those games we have amassed a grand total of 11 points in sit 20th in the league over that time

Why do so many fans think Downing was the issue if we haven’t improved since he left?  Genuine question

Alternatively, 20th over the last 10 games (first few games hangover from previous coaching regime). Last 6 games 13th and above Fulham ( new coaching team starting to have an effect.)

Faced a tough task today, up against O'Brien (Huddersfield's number 8), who I felt controlled large portions of the game.

Massengo covered a lot of ground, and had some shots on target, but struggled to get a foothold on the game. It certainly didn't seem as though he had possession of the ball much today.

My opinion is that Massengo and James are complete opposites and probably don't compliment eachother all that well due to James not being as mobile. This can often lead to Massengo having to compensate for some of James' running, which can drag Massengo out of position.

I feel Massengo and James could work better if part of a midfield 3, which would allow another 'runner' to play alongside HNM, and allow Matty James to 'Anchor' the midfield and dictate the play.

    Like Joe Williams??

My City MOTM today.  Nige wants pace and power up front, he’s got one here already….needs another.

His best game in a city shirt for me. He’s going to be some player in 18 months. Really excited about him.

You are very easily pleased or believe the hype! The last 8 games have seen us score 7 goals and get 4 or 5  points, that's from a possible 24! Goal threat don't make me laugh. Defensively we have been poor for a year or more and show no signs of improvement. The manager has yet to prove he knows what he is doing especially with the set up and subs today!

In the last 8 games we have managed to get 8 points and score 9 goals. But don’t let the facts get in the way of your uninformed rants.

Lots of knee jerk bed wetting on here as usual. There were a number of bright spots today. Go in at ht 1-1 no doubt Huddersfield deserved to be level. Quick goal after half time looked offside, Scott got caught out. Semenyo hits the post, they go down the other end and score with the help of a lucky deflection on the cross. We show some character and throw everything at them and get a deserved goal back but too late.
Obviously some defensive errors but lots to be encouraged by. Semenyo probably had his best game in a city shirt. Benarous trying to drag us back into it at the end. Massengo with a committed all action performance.

Lots more attacking intent today. Obviously need to tighten up and no doubt that will be a frustration to Pearson and the coaching team as much as to anyone else.

No one wins every game, especially not us, but I think there was lots to build on in that performance.

  9. Aside from the Swansea comparison,(who I do think we’ll finish above) the issue with Pearson seems to be between those who want to see something better now and those who are prepared to give it more time. FWIW my view is that NP has identified the traits needed to be successful in this league and the one above. He talks a lot about pace, power, desire and then technical ability and decision making. You can coach / train to improve some of these aspects but it seems to me that some our players have low ceilings.

Therefore in order to be successful we will have to find ways to buy most of that in. I’m guessing we will need 8+ first team players over the next few windows. With that goal in mind it then for me just becomes a question of how much we can enjoy the journey. For me, if we can compete, and I can see that we continue to work the plan, that is enough for me to keep the faith. I appreciate others will have a different view.

I honestly think it’s the first time in my life (first game in ‘76/77) that we have a proper plan that I understand and believe in it. I think we’ve muddled along at best previously. That’s not to say that I don’t get as frustrated with the games, but I’m desperately trying to keep the bigger picture in mind.

Get to my age and patience is one of the few virtues you’ve got left.

Having reread it, he seems to be implying that if there was an Independent Regulator then Derby wouldn't be in their current mess.

What strange logic, unless he is also factoring in that Stadium sales and alternative accounting/amortisation methods wouldn't have been allowed. Although the revenue distribution issue might also look very different.

It's just Mel Morris all over on balance. Remember his ridiculous comments in the initial IDC not least that he was 'an enemy of the EFL state'. Sums him up.

So essentially, if the EFL wasn’t so lax under the previous regime he wouldn’t have cheated and Derby wouldn’t be in this mess!

Strange logic. “Your honour, I only murdered him because I could get away with it. Now I’ve been caught, it obviously isn’t my fault, it’s their fault because I thought I would get away with it - the defence rests.”

Ok maybe   I out of  touch . But this job to look at players wages and financial misconduct. Is paying 85000-95000 for FS. How overpaid or what.  How can you justify that wage to set a wage cap. Total evidence of the lack of even distribution of wealth. Total bollocks or what

I’m certain they would have some recruitment help and would’ve surveyed the market. Looks pretty spot on to me.

The most ludicrous comment was from Angus Kinnear (Leeds CEO):

Enforcing a philosophy akin to Maoist collective agriculturalism (which students of The Great Leap Forward will know culminated in the greatest famine in history) will not make the English game fairer, it will kill the competition which is its very lifeblood.

So Tory MP Tracey Crouch is in fact a secret Maoist. Who knew??

Nice bit of satire here from Jonathan Liew:

Thanks @chinapig brilliant piece. I’m assuming you are also a Maoist.
