  1. What happens to the dogs if they accidentally breathe in some dodgy substance as part of their sniffing duties? Animal welfare is important too.
  2. There used to be a T shirt on sale that said 'If it wasn't for airport security I wouldn't have a sex life' Probably not best worn when going on holiday.
  3. But if society is too free it becomes a dangerous place? My only worry would be picking up traces of drugs off other people whilst travelling and being innocently targeted. Just to be clear I know not to make a fuss of the dogs at the airport but it isn't easy for children to ignore them. Airports are stressful places and having a cute dog running around can be the highlight of the journey TBH. I do accept that being a football fan is different. The police behaviour can default to 'mean spirited and suspicious' mode so I understand the OP in this case.
  4. Personally I find it hard not to make a fuss of the dogs and give their ears a good ruffle but we are are all different and if it makes people uncomfortable that's their right. If it stops silly fans taking something that becomes an incident then it has to be worth it?
  5. More straws being clutched at. In amongst the desperate digs there is some common sense:- To be fair they lost to Forest on Penalties, we got battered by Fleetwood, I’ll keep my mouth shut at work tomorrow.
  6. I suppose they could put some shiny pillars in there.
  7. As mentioned above we got completely outplayed by Leeds, as a boxing comparison, we didn't land a punch. Unusual as typically we play well up to the final pass but don't take our chances. West Ham was a good example, we deserved to win the replay however the one goal was from an under hit back pass. We could have done with an international window though I guess that applies to many teams.
  8. I am fearful of a beating I have to say. Too many games recently on those who are fit and eligible. I would be very optimistic with a full and rested squad, but unless we held back something when playing Leeds (why would we?), it could get ugly. Hope to be proven completely wrong. COYR.
  9. This thread is a great source of humour and having a laugh is healthy. If we get a stuffing by Forest then they can do the same on Gaschat. I don't have a problem with that.
  10. You are my maths teacher from school aren't you? Hope you are keeping well Mr Hayes.
  11. Wool being pulled over eyes? We'll be ok, we're a tight knit bunch.
  12. This 'build it and they will come' fantasy. From their forum:- ........there is a lot of gas support out there and not just in Bristol, I’ve seen far more gas shirts in Wiltshire than city ones. I have lived in Wiltshire for 59 years. I cannot recall ever seeing a Rovers shirt in Wiltshire. It is mostly Bath rugby shirts, the odd City shirt, the odd Swindon shirt (only in the Swindon area), plus of course the usual PL team shirts in the age groups where winning a trophy makes for playground bragging rights.
  13. As usual, a mix of deluded and sensible on their forum. One person suggesting they have room for a stadium up to 25k and if they get to the Championship, they could fill it. Another pointing out they get a third of our attendances these days, the kids around Bristol are all wearing red and where are all these fans expecting to suddenly appear from? Who to believe?
  14. Does the standard use of 'to be fair' justify such nonsense that nobody else can even understand? No, it does not. They might as well talk about how their players beards are better than ours.
  15. Very sorry to hear this. It must have been a traumatic experience for everyone to go through. Best wishes to the family involved and thanks to the stadium team who would have done their best no doubt.
  16. For anyone who has been to a cricket test match, when queuing outside or at breaks in play, there is the unique and unmistakable sound of about 20,000 people having 10,000 conversations. Or maybe after lunch, it is the sound of snoring! Anyway, it is a fine thing to hear. I don't seem to notice it at football or rugby, presumably because of the PA noise.
  17. About McAllister, if they can't stand the thought of even mentioning Bristol City, they must be fuming at having it on the match day shirt sleeves. I doubt Jamie is too impressed at having 6 seasons of his career air brushed out of a press release.
  18. I am sure no one is being criticised for not being there, it is about making the seats available. I know an Arsenal fan who makes use of their scheme very successfully. He lives in Wilts but flies out of Heathrow and can get to the odd mid week games when convenient for him. There will be some who find themselves suddenly free to go to AG due to a change of plans but put off enquiring by the sell out tag, or, more likely at the prospect of a poor seat/view. Some of the seats free last night were in prime spots.
  19. The bit that bothers me is we seem to have given up on the quick ball forward that kept our quicker guys interested. If, when we regain possession, we just pass it around, it gives the opposition defence time to re align. A slow build up will sometimes be necessary but giving up on the out ball seems wasteful.
  20. My view, we have been out played by a team playing Manning ball better than we do. If it was at their place with Pearson, we would have played a better defensive game, playing on the break. Trying to keep possession still doesn't suit us. Yet.
