It will be interesting to see the body language of the players and motivational levels. I suspect it will be a difficult afternoon for all involved and wouldn’t rule out an Owls win. Such a shame it was all so unnecessary.

What is the point even of a new manager? It’s like replacing the trombonist of the band on the Titanic. The captain will continuously head for the iceberg.

He’s not going to walk away without selling the club is he? There has been no transparency coming from SL so we don’t know anything about potential buyers although he mentioned he had been in talks with a 3rd party earlier in the year but no updates on this? BTW football may be an expensive business but no one has held a gun to his head to buy or continue ownership of the club. Like others I suspect he is asking too much for the club which is not helped by the entangled web which is Bristol Sport. My fear is that the status quo will continue for the foreseeable which I think is reinforced by the sacking of NP. Why would SL get rid of him if he wasn’t thinking more long term?

So it’s ok for you to have an opinion but not BA? I appreciate someone with critical thinking skills and an analysis of the likely motives of said successful ‘business man’. We need more debate on this subject not closing down of it. And by the way potty mouth North Korea are probably being more transparent at this moment in time!!

Presumably he would want a big budget for new signings? Ain’t gonna happen. Plus he is a crap manager…

Oh yawn. What’s the matter does the truth hurt? Interesting stuff from Big Al and sounds about right to me. It’s never been about the football for SL just using the club as a convenient vehicle to increase his wealth. He has sabotaged any decent manager’s attempts to get us to the PL over the past decade or so. We as City fans need to unite to get these charlatans out of OUR club.

I don’t think it’s anything to with energy, or ideas. I’ve thought for a while now that SL is a whack job. I don’t think he has any intention of selling up and enjoys his god-like status at the gate with his sycophants lips attached firmly to his backside. Will he continue to gaslight us about being in ‘talks’ with potential suitors? Been talking a long, long time Stevo!

I actually find it quite humiliating that we have sold our 3 best young prospects to the UKs biggest nursing home. I have taken some stick on here for having the audacity to criticise Lansdown but it appears the blinkers are now thankfully coming off. I reckon Conway will be itching for a move at some point especially with his mentor NP now moving on. I expect his best mate Scott has been on the phone telling him how great it is playing at Old Trafford et al…..oh and the £40k a week ain’t too shabby!!

He could have made the save Dave and no one would have been questioning his ability. Very fine margins in football, as you know. I’ve thought for a long time that he has technical flaws in his game. A bit like Vyner who was very raw but improved with proper coaching. Hopefully the same will happen with Max.

There’s nothing to work out. He made some saves but ultimately let in a very saveable goal which led to the defeat. Doesn’t really matter what he did before or after the goal I’m afraid that was the key moment.

Ok so given that a very rudimentary guess that the City girls have a squad of c20 players earning average of £25k equalling £500k per annum (no transfer fees applicable). Double that for operating costs and management/coaches wages and you get to £1M. So the City Ladies annual budget effectively equals the transfer fee of Marley Watkins!!

Why apologise for the publication? Would it be more acceptable coming from the Guardian?

Apologies if this has already been discussed but does anyone know roughly/ballpark figure how much the City girls get paid? And how does it compare to the other clubs.

It sounds like both Spurs and Man C took their respective foot off the pedal in the second half against us. I stick with my prediction of zero points and a couple of double digit losses. Imagine that! Will SL be embarrassed? Probably not….

Much of the debts he has had to underwrite have been down to his own bad decisions. I don’t believe he has any intentions of selling the club (still in talks, Steve?). We are in the position now where our major shareholder and owner has effectively stated that he will no longer fund the club with no buyers on the horizon. I think the rot is slowly setting in and we are in a managed decline going backwards. Perhaps you may soon realise the reason for the criticism of SL.

I think SL has had a remarkably easy ride tbh. I don’t condone violence or threats whatsoever but consider the abuse that the Everton, West Ham and Man U owners have been on the end of (whilst playing premier league football) I.e. death threats, told to keep away from the ground by police and various ongoing action by the Man U green & gold lot. I think we can all agree the aforementioned clubs have enjoyed a bit more success than us over the years.

We have no feet to find. Face it the gap between the championship and WSL is massive and I confidently predict the ladies will get relegated with zero points. Another Lansdown success story. Seriously Steve/John/Whoever-how much would it cost to make us half competitive? Are you happy SL to see one of your clubs humiliated week in, week out?

If only we didn’t keep selling our best players. Imagine us with Scott and Semenyo in the team today…
