  1. I always liked the New Zealand cricketer Colin de Grandhomme, or Colin the Big Man
  2. So we've wasted ALL that money i.e. never bought a good player and we are a mid-table championship club. Not doing too bad then!
  3. How does it work if he's resigned and then gets hired by Preston? Are Plymouth not entitled to compensation?
  4. LB doesn't have to be THE man to replace Martin, but he can be A man to give Martin a rest at the end of games. No-one has said LB should come straight in and lead the line for the next 10 years, but think he's worth a go to try out. If he can hold the ball up once in the last 20 minutes of a game to prevent 1 attack, that will be an improvement on leaving Martin up top alone trying his hardest, but he is 32, not got the stamina of someone like Weimann and is not closing down as we need. If he comes on for 3 games and is rubbish, we'll know, won't extend his contract and he'll leave. If he comes on, helps us see out games, maybe gets a goal or 2, we know we might have a player. I wouldn't mind he we brought on Bell or Conway (when fit) to do the same, but we don't, we leave Martin on. To be fair, normally we've had to make two injury substitutions which kind of prevent NP from doing so.
  5. In that case, the professional coaching staff can't see Martin is clearly struggling to compete and run after about 65 minutes and is a big reason why we spend the last 20 minutes of each game camped in our own half or box with no outlet. Just a thought.
  6. That's good though, I don't want this close season defined by a stewards decision that makes the last race a damp squib. We know now next weekend is just an almighty show down between these two and I think today was Max letting the pressure get to him a little.

Granted it's Wikipedia, but that adds up to 147.

It doesn't matter if YOU'RE not including loans. MY point was Vyner has made over a hundred senior appearances. He has made 147. That is over a hundred.

I don't think you're smoking something because you disagree with me, I think you're smoking something because you think there are countless examples of passes of the highest order from Weimann. I'm not knocking Weimann as a PLAYER. It's his passing ability and composure which is being shown up by and 18 year old. I've even said in my post that "Weimann has plenty of positive points which merits his place in the team" but my original post was that I wish some of our other players had the sort of composure on the ball that Scott is showing at such a young age. You need to read the whole post rather than cherry picking a few words out.
  10. Senna & Prost was the first thing I though of.

Countless examples of passes of the highest order from Weimann? I'll have what you are smoking. If you think he's composed on the ball you are clearly incorrect. My point wasn't to knock Weimann as a player, it was to show the excellent composure of an 18 year old player with half dozen senior games under his belt compared to a number of other first teamers with well over a hundred senior appearances in Vyners case, and over 200 of Weimann. Weimann has plenty of positive points which merits his place in the team, but his composure on the ball is not one of them. He'll do great things (Cardiff volley, that pass for Wells you mentioned), but there's plenty more examples of him skying the ball (v Derby, although was a tough chance) or awful passes which unfortunately outnumber the examples of passes of the highest order you've made up. But he's not in the team for his passing ability.

I wish our other players had the same composure on the ball. While Veneer constantly kicks it as far as he can to the opposition goalie or our out play and Weimann can't make a 5 yard pass, Scott, takes the ball down, looks up and passes along the ground to. someones feet. For an 18 year old in his 5th or 6th game, he also loves a challenge and getting stuck in which is great to see.
  13. No, what people are suggesting is that surely he's worth bringing on for the last 20 minutes to put himself about a bit rather than watching Martin send himself to an early grave every week. What people are basing that on is his performances in the u23s where it seemed last season he scored in pretty much every game and the only opportunity people would have seen him live against a now Premier League team, he knocked both centre backs on their arses and scored a poachers goal, all in about 15 minutes. The club have not said he is miles away from this level. They said his fitness needs to improve. That would be to start games. He can't start games, fine. But he COULD influence it from the bench. If he comes on for 3 games and is crap, send him on loan to Woking and you can celebrate. If he comes on gets an assist and a goal late on in a couple of games, great!
  14. I was surprised he wasn't booked. Seemed to have a bit of a nasty streak. Kicked out at Atkinson and went through Massing a couple of times. On the ball he did look dangerous once he got up to speed. Only 19 and a great first name of Festy!
  15. Wilbraham was good? I feel Jody Morris gets unfair stick. If you watch a podcast I've forgotten the name of (helpful) with Steven Davies, he says that Morris had the chance to be a manager up in Scotland with St. Johnstone (I think), but when McInnes joined, he called Morris and said I want you to be on my coaching staff and also get some playing time. He weighed up packing in playing and being a manager for coaching but still playing. He turned up on his first day and was blanked by McInnes from then on. Never was allowed to do any coaching, never got picked for the team. apparently he was still great in the dressing room/training pitch with younger players and trying to motivate the other players though and never kicked off or spat his dummy out.
  16. You've answered your own question 3 words after making it. That's an impressively pointless thread, even for you!
  17. I agree, I think his performances has suffered as a result. He certainly doesn't lack the effort, but being asked at least twice a week to physical grapple with 2 centre backs alone is going to wear him out. Especially as we also pass to him like he's a channel runner and expect him to make 30 yard dashes into the corner! You can tell halfway through the second half he must be thinking what the hell is going on!?
  18. It was never a penalty. It may have looked like one, but the Stoke player had hold of Massengos hair and pulled him onto him and then fell over.
  19. When the board showing 9 mins went up I thought we started to, but thats when the fans piped up and that seems to encourage the players to realise what they were doing and push out more.
  20. Behave, I've just been trying to press play on that for ages!

    Kalas

He’s best of staying there than coming back to our useless lot!
  22. If I’ve got my maths right, if Hamilton wins the next two and Verstappen comes 2nd in the next two, we go to the last race with then bother level on points for the driver championship?
  23. This is normally the sort of level of team we struggle to break down, but we actually look like we could score at every attack. Bit disappointed it’s not 7 or 8 already
  24. I think I’m starting to learn towards your viewpoint too. Whether that’s because his ability and performances have been brought down to the same level as others I’m not sure.
  25. Would have kept a clean sheet if it wasn’t for Lloyd Kelly getting his legs confused and putting an Ipswich cross in his own net.
