  1. I thought Towler looked very good in possession of the ball, much more so than say Baker, but obviously his positional play and decision making was poor yesterday, but those two things improve with experience. Regards to Atkinson, I don't see him as being aggressive enough. When he goes up for a header it's almost like he lets the ball fall on to his head rather than attacking it meaning he doesn't get much distance on any clearance.
  2. Imagine one of our players scores a hat-trick that wins us a match and complaining that his first goal wasn't good enough!
  3. He made a block/tackle at point point in the 2nd half and I said "Well done Kalas" but then realised it was Cam which is probably the biggest compliment he can receive. Another one who puts in his body on the line to clear/block the ball.
  4. 100% disagree in this instance. We all know the personal tragedy that Benik suffered while he was with us, and the support the fans gave him. His 'celebration' wasn't because he used to play for us, it was because of what happened.
  5. 7 academy/youth players? Nige setting an example for the older players not pulling their weight?
  6. I though up until the penalty incident, the referee had been excellent. Was not falling for all the little dives and appeals from both sets of players, kept his cards in his pockets, kept the game flowing and it was a great match to watch. Then VAR got involved...
  7. Elite dangerous is amazing, but certainly not something you can potter about in haha
  8. I also think the rate that managers lose their job is crazy too.
  9. They shouldn't 'lose' their jobs, there should be more transparency from officials as to why they made or didn't make decisions on the pitch, whether thats by a brief interview after the game or a meeting with the two managers where the transcript is made available. I'm not entirely sure what sort of review/training goes on with a ref after each match but it doesn't seem to be thorough enough!

And going down the tunnel at half time. And coming back out for the second half. It was a little bizarre. He hardly touched the ball the whole game!
  11. We played better with 10 men than we have for most of the season. Scott in a more advanced role looked very good, Semenyo while isolated used his strength to hold up the ball on a number of occasions although didn't particularly threaten the goal, O'Dowda was excellent bar a few misplaced crosses, Kalas my MoM though.
  12. Ref got the result he wanted today. Can't blame the team, I think they've been very good.
  13. We've got a few of them. I can think of at least 13 players that have done something this season that got me off my seat... ...to walk across the room and turn off the TV cos I aint watching that crap no more!
  14. Yeah, I don't agree with abandoning the game. I do feel the players should leave the pitch, the police/security/stewards then go in to deal with the offender, remove/arrest and then the match continues after. Abusing match officials by calling them sh*t or a w*nker is quite a bit different from racially abusing someone though!
  15. He should have, but what the post I edited came across was that it was the poor 99.9% of people who were not being racist were the ones affected because they couldn't watch their football match, not the guy actually being racially abused, so edited it to show the issue is the guy getting racially abused, not whether a football match can continue.
  16. If it's less racist than what it was, less racist is still racist.
  17. I've amended your post to match what has happened. The world has gone mad that racism is so prevalent in modern society and yet accepted or brushed under the carpet by so many.
  18. If your view on racism is to ignore it and that players/people who are subjected to racist abuse who bring it to the attention of authorities are "going off crying because someone called them names" then you're never going to get it.
  19. I still don't think we've given him a decent run in his strongest position.
  20. As the resident old bill... Is there some distinction in the 'type' of rape he is accused of? Like has he followed these women walking home and dragged them into a bush and had his way with them struggling, or has he been in a bar drunk taken a groupie home and they've all been drunk so can't give consent ala Chen Evans? Appreciate they are both 'rape' but obviously very different levels.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having concerns over him. He seems to be a confidence player and you can see by the relief in his face when he finally scored with his foot (although he had to play a one-two with the post) rather than his arse after blocking the goalie and then backed up by his performance yesterday where while he didn't score, he set up two and had a few good strikes. His style of play is impossible for defenders to predict because I'm not sure Antoine knows what he is going to do next. The way he breezes past players with strength (similar to JET) and then can turn on the pace (not similar to JET) as well as the way he can strike the ball both footed with so much power (similar to JET) is enough to get fans up on their seats and raise the atmosphere in the ground. The problem with those raw attributes is he is not going to be consistent and we could seeing him going crazy and scoring 7 goals in 4 games, but then not scoring for 5.

Couldn’t watch todays game but delighted to hear this. Saw he got two assists today too.
