…or stopping the game as they are worried they will lose at home against their biggest rivals and leave them rooted to the bottom of the PL. No wonder Casemiro is in tears today
Fun fact, if Man U do not score tonight, their ‘goal of the month’ award will have to be an own goal

2 - 0 up at half time. Luton come out with three changes and a flea in their ear from Nathan Jones. They were probably also told to remember that we have a reputation for shrinking like a salted snail if put under pressure in the 2nd half.
They tried to up their tempo, but we just took complete charge of the game. Great pressing, superb movement and exceptional passing moves, the only thing that didn't quite come were the goals, which I honestly believe we're on their way, until the sending off. But still, they couldn't live with us and I think that's possibly the best we have played under Pearson.
Surely quote of the day contender right there.

Renaming a team because they have a famous manager, E.g. Wayne Rooney’s Derby County.

The yellow card was a cop out.
only two options1) Ref and Lino didn’t see it = No card
2) Ref and/or Lino did see it = Red
when you think back to the Beckham/ Simeone one it is ridiculous.

When talking about hooligans people use the name of the club. RE "Cardiff were very naughty" "Millwall Ran" It seems anyone who is in favour of a little bit of football violence turn all monosyllabic when referring to football fans/hooligans and forget to add anything after the club name. Or maybe it just a weird attempt to sound hard, I dunno.
Ironic that ‘monosyllabic’ has so many syllables.

I think they used the Bears bus to remind Wiganers that there are two types of Rugby, and they play the wrong one.

Post after post after post that just agrees with or repeats a previous post.
A single thread can have tens of pages, but it gets really difficult to actually find the key points that are being made.
If you agree with a post, just use the voting button, and only reply to it if you have a fresh point to make.
I agree
Actually, one that irritates me is, when someone DOES agree with a post, they type “This”.

Wigan used the ball very well in the second quarter. Made us run around a lot in the heat,I think it took our legs.
they played the CC on Tuesday so extra day’s rest.
someone said none of their starting XI played Tuesday, so they were fresher in the heat. Doesn’t explain why we fade second half in other games, but may explain today.- 2

Bet you anything Wilson starts on Tuesday night. Wouldn't be surprised if Pring starts on the left too.
Pring was warming up from about the 48th minute for the whole half and didn’t get on.

From where I’m sat
Atkinson best City player first hals
Naismith close second
Vyner very good or terrible, no middle ground.
Scott not in it
TC what a pass for the goal

Playing well so far. Didnt have a great view of either but did the ref bottle a penalty shout and a red card?
-
Well Wigan is the closest City get to me (Preston is a whopping 4 miles further). Got my sun block ready, off to the DW soon. My first game this season. COYRs

EFL guidelines this season
Threshold on the pitch:
Contact is an acceptable part of football, and contact alone does not mean there is a foul. The preference is not to penalise minimal contact. Match officials will consider the consequence of contact, action of defender and the motivation of the attacking player when deciding whether a challenge should be penalised.
The referees do not follow a single word of that. Match officials will consider the consequence of contact…? Don’t make me laugh. What ACTUALLY happens is defender’s aura disturbs the forward’s general vicinity. The forward ‘feels contact’ and is ‘entitled to go down’ and muppet refs who have not read the guidance give match changing penalties.

Loved the interviews with the players after the game.Honest, excited, spontaneous, passionate. Much different than the cautious, media trained male players.
Loved it when the goal scorer ran off to sing “Sweet Caroline” with the team and took the mic with her

Well done Lionesses. Showed skill, stamina, bravery and nous. How lovely to finish extra time against the Germans and not wanting to put my foot through the TV.

Is that worded right? You can't get booked three times.
You can’t GET booked three times, but you CAN be “should’ve been booked” three time wasn’t there a thing at a World Cup or Euros recently where an English ref DID yellow someone three times because he thought the second yellow was the first and so didn’t show red. Did I dream that?

Spot on, Sharton!
Good to see them losing late goals as well as us.
The one good thing about today was at least we lost to Hull City, not Nailsworth.
