  1. This is typical Dale Vince, he loves to do things differently and it wouldn't surprise me if this appointment is made permanent - depends on the player's I suppose. Dale Vince "It’s perhaps telling for the men’s game that in making this appointment on merit, we’ll break new ground - and Hannah will be the first female Head Coach in English (men’s) football."
  2. Me too, FGR being my nearest team geographicly - the name getting the most mentions on their forums is Darrell Clarke. With Dale Vince though he always likes a curve ball and it could well be someone we've never heard of. Their DoF is only recently appointed this summer from Brentford - Allan Steele - quite a young guy who was Brentford's B team technical coach, maybe he has some input into the change.
  3. I've got the video (live match for overseas subscribers) RTV on monthly subscription and it auto renews each month, does anyone know if the upcoming friendlies will likely be available...or does the sub only cover EFL games ? Anyone know? Thanks
  4. Happy to talk out of it though!
  5. Of course he can't refuse. He has to go, the BCFC coaching staff will handcuff him to the railings at the HPC until West Ham (or whoever) arrive to transport him to a 5 bed new build with gym, cinema room, and pool in Chigwell, there he will remain under house arrest and only allowed out to train, play, visit Spearmint Rhinos, get tattooed , or romp with potential wannabe wags on the make. Summer trips to Marbella, Vegas, and Dubai (to buy Rolex watches) are conditional on good behaviour. All this info is freely available on the OS - do keep up.
  6. And Offence and defence - pronounced Off-ence and Dee- fence. As soon as we lose possession we sub the 10 outfield players for 10 dee-fence players, win it back and bring on 10 Off-ence subs, meanwhile the the other team is doing the same. Change the shape of the ball and job done.
  7. He's moved over to the Lansdown Stand and the acoustic woes of the long suffering Dolman regulars no longer concern him, it only requires the return to the dugout of Danny Wilson to reach his football nirvana.
  8. Anything from Uley Brewery (Gloucestershire), they deliver on a Thursday in my area- choice of 7 ales all excellent - I've had a delivery every week since the lockdown began and can't seem to break the habit.!!
  9. I didn't know they were Liverpool fans
  10. I didn't see any trouble in the ground but walking out - across some rough ground and onto the road I was behind 3 City fans ( not yobs) aged in their 30's and a young kiddy about 16 ran out out of the shadows and smashed a brick into the back of one of the guy's head and just ran off into the dark down a side street. One of the most senseless and cowardly acts I've seen in 50 years of attending matches.
  11. I was at that game too, Gerry Sweeney equalised I think in the last few minutes to get the valuable point in our promotion season. Glad to have visited & seen those huge terraces but by then they were crumbling.
  12. Thanks for the update. Is Aaron Wilbraham still with you or has he gone as well. It sounds not to different to how he left us. He fell out with the Owner over transfers ( one of the suits tried to renegotiate a couple of deals Steve had arranged before going on holiday and that resulted in the deals falling through) Steve and the owner didn't speak after that and he was fired when we hit the dropzone, although subsequent managers have been allowed more time and patience when hitting a bad spell. Most fans were sorry to see him go so soon after a double trophy winning season. He gets a good welcome and reception when he returns and I'm sure he'll get the same at your ground.
  13. Thanks, never seen this before, presumably old newsreel, interesting that the perimeter wall around the pitch had not a single advertising hoarding anywhere.
  14. All the work Luton are doing is TV and media related. Upgrade floodlights (for TV), 50 TV camera positions, media work room with internet facilities for UK and foreign journalists, press conference room with seating for 100, TV studio, Var studio ,and toilet and canteen facilities (for TV, media and journalists). Hopefully we have all this in place - just in case!
  15. He's done well internationally, and at club level ....just not in England. I think he'll do well - with no European football it was always going to be hard to attract an elite level coach. Kane has carried Spurs for years and papered over some poor signings. It'll be interesting to see how they go about rebuilding the team when he moves in the summer.
  16. Usual poor reporting from Bristol World. the piece refers to Shrewsbury appointing Mickey Mellon as Director of Football, when of course it's Mickey Moore ex Cheltenham who has joined them as DoF.
  17. 1 post ! Evening Officer
  18. Didn't Ashton's partner run her own company that provided services to clubs/players such as you mention: help with relocation, accomodation, renting property, paperwork, documentation etc ? I'm sure I read that somewhere. You would think the club would have someone in house to do all that but it seems it was outsourced.
  19. We may as well, all threads on OTIB sooner or later get hijacked by Robbored and end with a slagging off of Gary Johnson or a hero worship of Danny Wilson. ?
  20. He has a house in Bermuda where he spends a fair bit of time , I don't think he has any interests in the Caribbean.
  21. SL has sold much of his holding in HL over recent years to rebuild the stadium, pay off BCFC debts, and to pay for the upcoming sporting quarter project plus his Botswana projects. One of the truths of football ownership is that if you want to buy a football club and end up with a small fortune.......start off with a large one! as SL can testify.
