FBC POD: Reading [A] the verdict - you've heard it all before
lenred replied to headhunter's topic in Football Chat
As is his prerogative. -
He looks good. We will need to be on it next weekend against him.
-
Maybe that’s an idea. Make certain blocks near the front sitting (unreserved but stewarded) and then the rest is a free for all?
-
There just needs to be a uniform approach across the leagues so everyone knows what’s what. At the moment half the time you have to sit in your seat and half the time it’s a free for all. You don’t know which until you get into the ground. I would prefer to stand at away games but you need to have courtesy and common sense as to what position you find yourself in on the day and then act accordingly. Not hard really.

Big big shame, but a great opportunity for him. Can’t blame him at all for taking it. Never easy is it!
-
But but but!!!

A) caps yes, but you know full well that these caps dwarf English championship football finances. B) You seriously believe that Johnson or Holden would have built this squad or a comparable one under the same massive constraints? Says it all… And why do you have an issue that people praise Pearson for the work he is doing? If anything is ‘odd’ then getting pissed off about that is certainly right up there, especially as you claim to have no issue with him.
-
Ahhhhhhh…….You’re calling me thick, and odd? Ok Joe. You crack on. But you are the one slagging him off constantly and pretending to not want him gone when all your snide, pathetic little posts suggest otherwise, all the while it seems having f all clue about the realities of our club and the financial position we are in. This isn’t the NFL or the NBA where you can just throw money at problems, this is English Championship football and given the shit show we have been in over the last few years Pearson has done a good job. If that makes me ‘Thick, odd, Pearson lover’ then so be it.
-
So you’re not happy with him, won’t accept the reality instead saying they are ‘boring excuses’ but won’t provide a realistic alternative that you think will improve us and our current position. Oke doke.
-
Why do you not get that we do not have the squad quality or depth to produce consistency? And that we don’t have that because we cannot afford it?

The discussion has been done to death but imho he is as good as (actually well above) what we can expect to get in our current situation. Who would you get to come in?
-
Truly shocking wasn’t it. You really do wonder where some people’s morals are. His own daughter and he defends that slimy piece of ****.

did any one hear a Chinook helicopter against Preston?
lenred replied to Never to the dark side's topic in General Chat
Yeah one came across earlier this week and looked like it was heading the Plain direction - seems the obvious destination around here. They are magnificent as you say, the noise they make is a thing of beauty! -

Thank you. We see them every so often here ‘Oop north (Bishopston!) and I always wonder what they are doing. -
I’d rather keep the opportunity to see more games than reduce the amount because of when they have to be played. Last nights game should’ve been a Saturday kick off anyway, but was rearranged due to Her Maj.

Match Report: Abysmal City fail to turn up at Birmingham
lenred replied to Olé's topic in Football Chat
Brum were evidently very low in confidence and expecting us to come back at them. Think it took them a while to cotton on that that wasn’t going to happen, but once they did then they played with a lot more confidence and looked good, (I was especially impressed with their number 6 , Mejbri, who unlike our lot could actually cross a ball!) Brum fans we chatted with in the pub after the game couldn’t believe how poor we were and despite the comfortable win were not very confident for the season ahead. It was a meeting of kindred spirits ? -
Blimey. Really shocked by Wilder, especially with Gibson’s track record for sticking in with managers. Wonder what’s gone on there.
-
Very sad news. RIP Rich.

I think I told them I would buy Exeter and remove them from their job, which probably was not the best thing to say, but as it’s a fan-owned club and I’m a relatively wealthy individual, See he’s added Alan Partridge into his plethora of personalities.

Someone definitely has to be having some fun here (their definition of anyway). Shirley!
-
Measured confidence - never too up and never too down. Speaks with respect about our players international achievements and about those who have helped them get there which must be a real boost for those working at the lower levels - great to hear managers praising those to whom it’s actually due as opposed to trying to hog all the limelight themselves - it’s a great managerial trait. All in all another great listen and excited for Saturday.
-
Agree. Some of those challenges were absolutely shocking.
-
Very good game between two sides who would give a lot of Championship teams a good game. Can’t believe the Ipswich keepers just hit the bar!
-
Yep! Mysterines are a great little band as well.
