  1. My thoughts exactly. Went in Saturday after the game during the ‘price hike’ and it was still reasonable considering a lot of Bristol prices these days - £20 odd for 5 pints. If I hadn’t read this I wouldn’t have known any different. Better to look at it that it’s just a lot cheaper sometimes - like the old 50p a pint night at uni! Still a lot cheaper than the ground and better quality as well.
  2. We’re in a worse position financially than those clubs mentioned though aren’t we? So have to be even more careful / prudent?

    Crowd

It’s rife at the rugby as well. No one from the club seems to care less!
  4. Yep that’s fair. Balanced criticism of NP is absolutely due from yesterday’s performance, as he himself said very openly in the post match interviews. We were nowhere near good enough yesterday in nearly all facets of the game and the way Bell was left to fend the right hand side was especially crazy.

    blanked post - sorry

Get the point but I think we know that rugby crowds are very different to football crowds for a myriad of reasons. Not comparing like with like.
  7. Thanks Dave. I guess my point is that although relegation is looking more and more likely it’s not yet definite and so nothing will be sorted until such time that it’s confirmed as the price of the club will be dependant upon it and the administrators will obviously be looking for as much as possible. May look even more incompetent if they sell it at league 1 price and they do somehow escape?
  8. Surely a sale won’t be agreed until such time that their fate this season is known and what the likelihood of further points deductions is known. Or is that too simplistic a view?
  9. They have according to Transfermarkt - three to our one ?
  10. What’s the excuse for the shite referees we’ve had then?!
  11. You find fans slagging off our own players ‘entertaining’. Mores the point you are looking forward to it so much you started a thread about it a whole 5 days before the game itself. As I said. Odd.
  12. How are any of the situations Graham Potter has been in in English football in any way comparable to what NP has had to deal with here?
  13. Unfortunately it will do quite the opposite as he will just delight in the lack of action being taken against him and his regime. Understand it’s not ‘fair’ on the sports people themselves but sanctions of all sorts need to be taken against this regime, including sporting.
  14. Very much a hit for me. Obviously there are a few naysayers on here but to have someone with Nige’s football pedigree at the helm has been a relief and has filled me with confidence for our short to medium term future. We are in a ‘ing awful position financially and are incredibly lucky that he has taken the challenge on with such gusto. We are already seeing the changes he has brought about with style of play and crucially bringing the youngsters through and I just hope he gets the time that he needs. Good times ahead if so which, given our position when MA left is a minor miracle in footballing terms. I’m enjoying going to Ashton Gate again for the first time in a good while and that feeling is shared by my pals I go with who although don’t post on here would 100% agree. Cheers Nige!
  15. Thank you for posting this. That promotion meant so so much after the years of disappointment. Probably my favourite season as a City fan, and I remember it like it was yesterday. That Doncaster away game when Boom Boom scored was incredible. Felt so much closer to the players and the club back then. A different era and one I’m very very glad to have been involved with. A special time.
  16. It’s a yellow warning only tomorrow. Winds of up to 21mph. Can’t see why that would lead to any postponement as long as Boro get here ok.
  17. Yeah as much as I don’t want Forest to succeed that decision is very very dubious and I’d be seriously pissed if I was a Dorest fan. Surely the EFL can intervene?
  18. Yep. This is as close to an independent audit as we are going to get. Let’s hope JL doesn’t get Daddy to take his ball away from NP because he doesn’t like the findings.
  19. JL hasn’t got a clue. Never has and never will. What did he expect was going to happen this season exactly? How did he think it was going to be better than it is? And what did he do to stop the ‘ing shit show that this club was in under Ashton which has caused this whole situation. Absolutely nothing, that’s what. I’ve not been into the JL bashing that goes on sometimes as it’s not his fault he’s been born into his situation, but it really would be best for all concerned if he just left well alone now as he has no positive influence whatsoever, although I’m under no illusion that’s what’s going to happen. Let’s hope we get sold before he ever gets anywhere near running the shop.
  20. I’d been having a somewhat heated (surprise! ?) debate with a DCFC fan on another newspaper comments site, which actually ended up very amicably. This was from about 3 weeks ago. However literally 2 mins after the Talk sport piece I got a notification say he had replied again, gloating about how we are just as bad as them blah blah blah…….didn’t like it was pointed out about the tax bill again ? It’s fools like him that make me care not whether they do end up in the Matlock District League !
