  1. After which, they'll be coming to get us.
  2. So, as I read that. They've teamed up with a Taiwanese Tupperware owner, who's in talks with Edward Ware (Ted) and there'll be news broadcast on Thursday.
  3. I think you're doing a great job of not gloating.
  4. I think some people are getting carried away with the speculation about BRFC and their finances. After all, this is pure conjecture on most of our parts, with little to go on except the company accounts, Chairman's statements of running costs, physical evidence of no investment in the playing staff or the stadium (haha, stadium), rumours about why bills not paid, no plans for the colony yet, no plans for redevelopment yet, rumours about the owners Wael and family trying to sell, they could all of a sudden just announce massive investment. And some on here creaming themselves about them possibly going into administration if their losses continue. I believe we should take a step back and see how things develop before shouting too much. Fat lady and all that. **** it, let's just have a laugh at their predicament.
  5. We're all capable of being educated, I just have, evidently. Though it's always been difficult in the past.
  6. I thought they formed the basis of the new team when it was formed. Perhaps I'm wrong.
  7. Place. They should listen and agree, when told there was no profit in that financial year.
  8. Perhaps I didn't write that correctly, I was saying that they, being BRFC, stole the team initially.
  9. Anyway, rather than form a trust to purchase the Rugby ground and let BRFC play there, as it was previously held in a trust, until certain people changed that and made the Rugby ground into a company. So you wouldn't want the chance of that happening again. I suggest a wealthy person, bales out Wael and purchases the rugby ground, then develops it into a top class rugby stadium, where two rugby teams share it, Bristol Rugby and the new rugby league team shortly coming to Bristol, merged from Gloucester and Oxford. Ashton gate can then play host to Bristol City, Bristol City Ladies and a new adjacent arena for basketball and concerts.
  10. Didn't BCFC have a ladies team that became the Bristol academy, which then became the Gas academy, which then went full circle and back to Bristol City Ladies? I think they stole the team, changed it's name, and Bristol sport provided the funding for it to survive and changed the name back.
  11. I think it's "In The Net's" way of saying, everyone on here is also talking out of their Arses, as they also aren't accountants.
  12. Hmmm, they could conceivably be further down the line then. Income from ST sales helped (£1,5m?). So linked to a reduced playing budget just about tides them over, less running costs. Admin any day soon.
  13. I could have sworn that it was calculated that they paid £7m to Higgs and co, plus the loan of £2m. It was rumoured that Higgs wanted/needed his £5m to bugger off to Italy, leaving £2m for the remaining shareholders. Perhaps not marked up as borrowings, more capital investment, you know, plastic chairs and canopy's. How can you find out how much was paid for the shares, HMRC?
  14. Bert, do you mean like the time when the Bristol sporting community "came together" to support Bristol's bid for the 2018 World Cup? The "coming together" of all the city's and regions sporting clubs, except one? Do we need reminding that, the only professional sporting club which did not "come together", and support the bid was a football club based in Horfield. True some former players did, and former managers did, but, the football club and their pettiness, did not. Not one statement of support, presumably because they weren't directly involved and, actually did their utmost to undermine the building of a stadium at Ashton Vale. The EP did their best to promote a united front from Bristol's sporting bodies, but nothing from Rovers. I suppose it was a fear of being left behind so, instead of support the bid and try to benefit from it, they effectively opposed it. Don't expect too much help Bert.
  15. You do realise that I said "over a period of time" when referring to increased support with only one club. I know hard core support would not swap sides but, floating support and as you say, new support, which you again say we are picking up, would over time create a bigger fan base, even if they were minimal initially. As for SL bringing Rovers under the BS umbrella, he already has two football teams, one rugby team, a basketball team, would like a cricket team, has various individual sports persons, I think, and, could possibly be involved with a rugby league team shortly, and, he's putting in even greater foundations for those teams. Why would he want another football team? I could only think of it being used as a feeder club, that would please the Blue supporters Eh? This might be controversial and ruffle a few feathers but, I can see a time when we are so used to "Bristol Sport" we will refer less to "CITY" and become Bristol and represent all of Bristol. Are you involved with EW and just testing the water Bert?
  16. Sounds as if you have the begging bowl out Bert. I genuinely feel for some supporters of BRFC but, BRFC has always wanted someone else to provide them with this or that, this is no different a proposition.
  17. In a word, no. There are many reasons not to but, sorry to say Bert, less in favour. I know competition is healthy but, with all due respect, where is the competition? The only competition there has been for many years, is for the pound in the pocket of Bristol football supporters and there is a healthy amount. Like in the retail industry, if there's a chance of a monopoly and improving on a reasonably successful product by swallowing up the competitor, it's done. I believe that would be the best thing for Bristol football, two clubs and one is holding the other back. If it were the other way around then my heart would obviously disagree but my head would say, Bristol needs one club to give it a chance of real success and be a club for the region. Would that one club be successful, who knows. I do believe that over a period of time, it would become better supported (in numbers) and would ultimately receive more in local sponsorship. Managed correctly, this would give the club a greater chance of success. People might hold up Bradford as an example, where the demise of one club didn't appear to help the other, how do we know? Leeds has been a one club city, bigger than Bristol and ultimately more successful, as can be said in success terms for, Leicester, Norwich, Ipswich, Wolves, Coventry, Derby, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Cardiff, Stoke, Southampton, Portsmouth, the list could go on, no doubt. They have one thing in common, no same city competition. I do not believe Bristol has the number of football supporting general public as other large Cities in the UK, as a result, it struggles to produce regular success, or even challenge for success.
  18. Are you serious? The local press who have traditionally not investigated or printed stories about BRFC, their supporters, players, past players, former directors, because the editorial was full of Rovers supporters. The same local press who historically print anything detrimental about BCFC, past players, it's supporters and anyone remotely associated with the club.
  19. You surely can't be implying that a director/former director of BRFC could have some dirty little scheme running in conjunction with the club/owners? I suppose with the demand for housing increasing pressure on the LA's, it's inevitable that there could be problems obtaining PP for an academy on the colonic site, and, housing would be preferable to the LA. Who could possibly gain from this?
  20. He had a sleep over at a mates house on whorefield common. Actually, his mate has no house, as the Gashead stole it, so his mate is on Whorefield common.
  21. There was a danger that this was going to slip off the page. Can't have that, their renewed enthusiasm will be the death of them. So we all need to see it.
  22. I'm not taking running costs into account with this mind. Obviously if they are losing money through the football side of things, and it would appear they are and they've been living off ST and player sales, then it will soon as you say, eat into their investment and they'll have to sell soon or invest money which is unsecured, which they've been loath to do so far. Possibly having to sell quickly will bode well for a prospective buyer, the Wael family must be crapping themselves. Sounds better with every thought.
  23. I am of the understanding that the debt accruing in interest, is to themselves. Or, from Dwayne sports to the football club, who are owned by Dwayne sports. So, theoretically, the football club go into administration, they call in their debt, sell the ground to whoever, to repay Dwayne sports. They could charge BRFC whatever they wanted in interest, there'd still only be whatever they laid out in the first place as a debt. But, having said that, if they could earn more interest elsewhere for their outlay, then they'd be losing money. I see it as, their initial money is safe, as long as the rugby ground is worth more than that initial outlay.
  24. Still in Bristol, I'm sorry to say. They still have a relatively large fan base and like to shout it to the hills that they are bigger and better and more successful than us, some idiots, with little knowledge believe it.
