Sorry fella but it’s that very attitude as to why this is City is absolutely backward when it comes to success. Size of the bloody place yet we have this apathetic mindset of it will do.

All day long. I’m so sick of it. NP was slowly solving the soft underbelly that we’ve had for years (bar cotts double season) and now it’s back in full swing. Absolutely soul destroying.

  2. There is no credit due because we’ve just lost our fourth game in a row and we are in dreadful form over the last few months.

lets see how we go Sunday. If it’s anything like the last two home performances we are going to be in a heap of trouble as they were absolutely shocking.

This is what we’re reduced to now. We’ve lost our fourth game in a row to a club who’ve just spent four years in League One, but it’s OK because “we gave it a go”. So what if it felt different. It felt different against Southampton and we’ve lost every game since then. I have zero faith in Manning now, and even less faith in the people that put him there.

Meanwhile Ipswich join the long list of clubs that emerge from the depths of lower league football and pass us on the way up.

    Sick of this club.

    This with fook1ng bells on.

Exactly, we've all seen and heard enough to know he's not up to the job at this level. He can't change, and he won't change becomes he thinks his processes are right and he thinks it's all the players fault. Manning and Hogg think and act as one.  It's now a case of when and not if he goes, I expect we'll pick up the odd win and limp through to the end of the season because crayon boy hasn't got the bollox to do anything other than keep his head down and stay out of the way.

The whole cycle will start again round about October when the Lansdowns will have no choice but to sack him and then we will see their ineptitude take centre stage again as they dither around wondering what to do next. They will of course appoint an experienced man ( they always do after the rookie fails ) who will begin doing what needs to be done but will themselves be fired when they tell SL what's needed and he doesn't like it and shoots the messenger. Again

    And on it goes...

This is exactly how I see. History just keeps repeating itself doesn’t it.

insane that the lansdowns can’t see it.

  5. If he needs/gets help he’s done. He shouldn’t be managing at this level if he isn’t completely ready and it would make the decision makers at our club look even more foolish. If that’s possible.

This is just what happens in football. Happens to all teams. Ups and downs. Its football. Always has done and always will.

We enjoy the highs and support the lows, that's being a supporter.

    IMO, though

Real highs are making the top flight or a cup final though. I’m 50 and I’ve never experienced any real highs watching city. JPT finals and league one promotions are good at the time but they aren’t real highs are they?

we’ve pitifully underachieved in the 40 years I’ve been following the club.

  7. We could lose 5.0 to Ipswich and he’d still be here for Swansea. If we lost to Swansea then just maybe they’d pull the plug but I’d still be surprised that they didn’t give him another couple of games.

tinnion and Jon boy are going to look like idiots if they have to make another change so they’ll give him longer than they should for sure.

No point if you’re a SC holders - the club have your money already.

Not for next season they don’t and they’ll be asking us to renew soon and they can **** off as far as I’m concerned!!!

Think the game will go on, but looking at the snow from my window in Emersons Green not so confident that the P&R from Brislington will be running

I’m in Emerson’s too EG Red and it’s fairly deep isn’t it. Buses running up and down Emerson way though.

I expect it’ll be on if it’s not as bad in south Bristol but not sure I fancy driving looking at the roads round here as it stands

    Pathetic isn't it.

I hope we don't get an LJ situation where 2 weeks of just training leads to a load of confused players who've had their heads filled with overly complicated jargon.

Omg . Sends shivers down the spine but wouldn’t surprise me.

The argument that he is trying to implement a new playing style without time to do so is a little confusing in my mind.

If he’s trying to implement a style with no time to do so and with potentially a group of players of which a fair few may be gone next season then play to your strengths that you have now !

Get some points on the board and win over the fans, he was always coming into a difficult situation with NPs departure.

implement your new style in pre season with the players from the current squad who you’ll be retaining and the new players you’re bringing in.

Exactly this all day long. It’s all on manning which ever way you look at it. If he is trying to change too much too quickly then that is a bit naive .

This season was always a right off however. time will tell . It’s not mannings fault  for the top 6 gibberish from above when he joined. Let’s see where we are after 10/15 games of next season. If we start next season with a few shocking performances like that disgrace yesterday things will turn nasty quick though.

Pretty much any of our players’ final balls are terrible, theres noone with real consistent quality.

That is our biggest issue at present. We’ve got so much going for us in almost every other aspect. If we can add more quality in and around the opposition’s penalty area we will be in business!!!

easier said than done though i know.

I’m not fussed at all by the penalty taker choices tonight.

Nobody can complain about that performance and I pray it transfers into our league performances

This is the million dollar question isn’t it. Weve done well across the four cup games but the league is the bread and butter and we’ve been rubbish since Boxing Day .

interested to see how this pans out over the next few months. If we don’t win again for a further 4 or 5 games we might be looking over our shoulders.

we don’t score enough goals so it’s not impossible.

In 1976 I walked up the steps into Highbury with my Dad and his words are still ringing in my ears, he said “I never thought I’d live to see this day” he was 51 and had supported man and boy since he could stand up and had long dreamed of seeing his team in the first division (as was).

Fast forward to 2023, I am considerably older than my father was in 76, and I don’t dream of seeing us in the Prem, it simply won’t happen in my remaining lifetime, and call me pessimistic but while the people who currently run the club continue to do so, it will never happen.

If as a City fan anyone believes we will get to the promised land under the present regime then good luck to you, I genuinely think you have more chance of winning the lottery first prize than achieving promotion.

I won’t try and justify my statement, I’ll just refer you to the definition of insanity by dear old uncle Albert.

I’m 50 mate and I feel the same. I felt sick watching us getting absolutely schooled by a load of mercenaries wearing Leeds Utd shirts on Friday as the penny dropped that I will never see us in the top flight.

I’m so envious of the people that can already take the positives - I’m honestly bereft of positive emotion after that equaliser. Our season is over isn’t it ☹️ playoffs feel about as likely as winning the FA Cup at this point.

We simply don’t have the squad strength to make top 6. Nowhere near good enough if the final third for starters, and most people have always known it.

I can’t believe lansdown jnr really believes it either.

Loan, with no option to buy?

The Wise Men must have a cunning plan that involves a charge for promotion.  The remainder of this transfer window is going to be a ‘splash the cash’ fest then!

Only way this deal makes any sense.

Exactly how I see it. If there are another couple of decent players coming in with twine and the combined improvement from all three give us a genuine shot at top 6 then fair enough.

if the board are spending decent money on this loan simply to try and get manning to finish as high as possible to save face then I give up. I can’t see how twine alone (decent as he is) will improve us sufficiently to get us top 6.

  17. Hoping this is true at £2.5m. We are desperate for players who can bring quality in the final third. Fingers crossed this lad will bring that. Manning should certainly know how to get the best out of him as well.

funny how the budget has altered though. May be that there will be a few exits in the summer (matty James?) and they are bringing this one forward to make sure we don’t miss out.
