We were abysmal second half after an average first half.
better team won and no complaints from me.
i was hoping the Watford game was the beginning of something exciting but today has left me struggling for optimism.
one things for sure is that the points rarely come in the games you expect them to in this league

Imo they'd better be hoping they DONT get promotion..
They would get well & truly rodgered if they were to scrape up.
Why, they’ve got a squad full of young hungry players, most of them homegrown who are only going to improve and for whom the skys the limit.
its not like there are a squad full of loans and old players on their way down who’ll be lucky if they can run in a years time let alone compete in the championship

I have no idea where their laughably blind optimism is coming from. It’s not as if they are even on a particularly good run. They’re so weird.
It really doesn’t take much to get them going does it

Nail on head. It’s not about manning. I hope he comes good but I’m worried he won’t. It’s about the lansdowns and tinnion.

Are we analysing League and Cup or.
We also remember that he had players who ended up down the line in Court from a drunken night out early in his reign, he inherited a true shambles.
I’m glad you mentioned this Mr P . I was thinking about this earlier…. The man who created the sh1t show that GJ walked into has had a big hand in where we currently find ourselves and everything that’s happened lately.
this club really is a joke.

I'll be the first to say it,
If this goes on he could be out in January
No he won’t …. They’ll give him a wad of cash to prove the doubters wrong just like they did with Lee Johnson. And look how that left us financially .

Being a pessimistic sod, I fear the season is over……
Far from it. We are in relegation battle or will be before the months out

Crying out for some quality additions.
Some of these ‘boys’ are just not up to it unfortunately. Not for where we want to go anyway…
We could be heading to league one though so some of them will fit right in.

Who was the manager a few years back who refused to give Sky any interviews until they sent someone round to fix his dish?

Good OP. Might be on to something but time will tell. Let’s see how we go for the rest of this month. Plenty of games coming up so we will know plenty about where we heading after the Xmas period is over.

Worried about relegation, probably not. One thing I am worried about is Manning being able to get the most out of players as Pearson did e.g Vyner, Pring and even Conway. I’m not talking about coaching but in terms of motivation and self belief.
I agree. Sadly the cretins who make the decisions at our club don’t appreciate these sorts of things . This is why they thought Lee Johnson was a good appointment. I always felt Johnson was ok tactically but was a shit motivator and man manager , evidenced by him throwing players under the bus and never taking responsibility himself for poor performances.
I wouldn’t be surprised if i look back on the appointment of Manning the same way in years to come.

The writing has been on the wall and the goals for column, Cornick was never going to be the answer, Tommy is all over the shop and needs Wells back, we are strong at the back, no one have dicked us thus far but how the Hell a City side has powder puff strikers that in previous years at least we had a goal scorer....even more frustrating when we have a solid defence and should be winning these games.
What a cluster **** of a way to run a club? A succession of inept owners going back to '76, we have at long last netted a good young coach, of that I am sure, but he needs support financially the squad is bereft of quality and needs probably four good players I
They need to back him in January or at the latest next summer with a couple of quality forwards or we will keep going round in circles.
mehmeti and cornick are hopeless. Or have been to date. Weiman and wells getting on now and won’t be getting any better so now is the time.

Mehmeti
I’ve had a guts full of Mehmeti now. Offers absolutely f all for me. Cornick is ok coming on when we are defending a lead but he is woeful when we need a goal and a spark.
what a dreadful second half performance against a Southampton side who have good players but are underperforming due to their crap manager

Personally I’m expecting a top half finish minimum this season.
frankly if we have a squad capable of top 6 according to the powers at be at the club and they appoint a coach they are convinced is a stand out , exciting candidate to the role who takes the reigns with us in the top half but then goes on to take us to a bottom half finish I will be f in livid.how stupid would BT and the board look then.

The incident Saturday was just inside the box. Should of been a penalty regardless of a red card or not.

Ha ha! The one that made me laugh was the one “hoping he (Manning) has done his homework on Lansdown and his record with managers”.
The writer clearly hasn’t!
Whatever else you can say about Lansdown (and plenty have! ) he’s a track record of being pretty patient with managers as evidenced by how often we have the longest/second longest etc serving manager.
He’s particularly patient with head coaches more so than managers. His wallet is more open for HCs as well.

Again, appreciate your view completely disagree with it though
Well between now and May we will see if the change was worth it or not ie. Will the new man improve us or take us backwards.
going to be fascinating watching it unfold.

It's comments like these that prove the point
The board suck, down with the lansdowns etc
Oh, did they hire Nige in the first place?
That's a bit awkward then if they hired a manager some are calling the best ever, but are in the same breadth , useless
They hired him to sort out the mess made by their previous shit appointments . A mess which was financial and also on the pitch.
once he’d done all the heavy lifting and got us on an even keel the shithouses sacked him, denying him the chance to push on.
so yes they do suck.

Guys.....it doesn't matter what Crayon Boy and the Snake said.....we don't have a top 6 squad and we ain't finishing top 6. That's reality. We lack quality to challenge the top teams and it showed on Saturday. You can run, play on the front foot and press like **** all afternoon but if you don't have players that can spot runs early and play the pass or carry the ball, beat a man and deliver quality it doesn't matter and won't make a significant difference over a large sample of games.
I'm as pissed off as anyone about the way Nige was treated but going in all guns blazing on the new Manager over comments made by two ******* idiots talking complete and utter shite ain't right either imo. If you do have to make some form of protest MAKE SURE IT IS DIRECTED IN THE RIGHT AREA TO THE PEOPLE WHO DESERVE THE STICK. Liam Manning isn't that recipient, it would be childish as **** to start getting on his back.
As far as I'm concerned, looking at our squad, Manning only gets it in the neck if we are fighting a relegation battle next March because we certainly shouldn't be in that position any more than we should be in the top 6 in March.........looking at it without the stupidity and short term agenda that Bristol Sport were executing that is. Guaranteed, the next statements you hear from Laurel and Hardy will be a reset of expectations. 100%.
Brilliant post. I can’t wait for the resetting of expectations shall we do a sweepstake on when this might come??

It was a stupid statement from Lansdown & puts extra pressure on him. Like I said earlier. Pressure should be put on Lansdown & tinnion , not manning
It was a stupid statement but it was made out of desperation. Desperation to justify the sacking of someone who didn’t deserve it.
