  1. Bournemouth playing very well. Semenyo scored and in 1/0 up at HT thoroughly deserved. Scott started and is moving the ball nicely

    Everton beating Liverpool 1.0

Man U losing at home to Sheff Utd.

    Hull 2/1 up at Cov

  2. Way to many statements made and answered by the interviewers in respect of finance and spend. Ask the question and let Marshall answer.

The comment about nest eggs is where many were left perplexed. Now it seems there never was a nest egg all the money had been pre-spent

Did Marshall say there was a clause if a sold player becomes OOC?? Or am I hearing things.

Very interesting stuff. I do get in order to get future interviews, you don’t necessarily want to be too probing. I think that other podcasts have suffered from that in the past, but decisions have to be made.

Nevertheless it was some communication by the club that has been massively lacking, particularly in view of the outright garbage last October.

    Many thanks all!

That was last week , it was 10k sold a year ago tomorrow so we will see soon as a lot will have done it late for various reasons , I do hope any drop is not greeted on here with glee , we are City fans at the end of the day and more people in the ground helps us whatever people’s agendas

Glee? Not sure that too many could be accused of that if sales are down (There are always one or two odd balls on any subject)

I agree the more fans in the ground the better.

Nonetheless what happened this season in respect of the firing of the previous manager, making statements that were plainly not accurate and the employing of a new one giving him a very clear promotion mandate comes at several prices.

The main one being many will hang on to their money until BT JL and to an extent LM have not only spoken about intent for the season, but have been seen to have backed that up in some way. I think that’s fair!

I haven’t listened to the FBC  podcast out today, yet! But I’m hoping that the vocalization of that intent is clear

No matter any single persons opinion on the NP sacking and irrespective of whether we improve going forward and the decision being right or wrong - you cannot defend the manner in which he was sacked and the boards actions in the summer window (timing of the Scott sale, lack of reasonable replacement, etc) and later (lack thereof) communication with him.

There was no common sense or courtesy in the clubs actions at the time, nor was it a footballing decision - we've only just got back to one position off where we were when he was sacked.

Just like your chip-on-shoulder comment in the context of common sense, the club deserve said criticism - I'd be surprised if NP airs it however.

Has more class than JL or BT.

You seem to think we're being vindictive - there's a difference between the former and valid genuine criticism(s).

    Why do you bother!

I'm sure Cotswoldred2 is a nice chap however the obsession with attacking Pearson, brushing over the reality of what happened and posting arguments on here is weird.

I always had the impression he was like dealing with a Volcano that could erupt at any moment.

Things are more relaxed and convivial now whilst still having that drive.

'Trying' to get behind Manning sums my thoughts up, should be not be just 'trying' really, he has proved his worth, get behind the City 🇰🇵

    He really hasn’t proved anything!

As Robbored said most are trying to get behind him.

Mr Manning has got so much better with interviews in the past a few weeks which has coincided with an unbeaten run. I don’t see those things as completely unrelated issues.

Got Aldershot ain’t we? Would love my lad to be mascot as nice n local for me and his family, easy to get to for all

I was brought up in Guildford so know the Rec well.

City games were always their biggest draw unless they were in the same division as Reading. Right fiesty affairs as the home and away support were separated by a fence and three fat blokes with yellow bins on. My old man got hit by a shoe one season and whisky bottle the next.!

was there for Shutts scissors kick. Screamer!

  7. It, of course, is not VAR per se. However application of it can be extremely iffy!

I said somewhere, there was one nailed on Peno. No doubt!! There were two that could have gone either way. The handball reminded me of ours V Huddersfield! Some say yes some say no! The first shout the same. Some say yes some say no!

However the one where he’s gone through the player from behind and not touched the ball is deeply concerning!

I wouldn’t go along with the VAR ref is a cheat, BUT there can be covert bias! The onfield ref needed help and it didn’t come!

Forest have a right to be furious on that count!

On a slightly different subject the Coventry offside goal is an example of how VAR has got everyone in a hole. To go that long in a game of that magnitude to say someone is offside by less than a centimeter is hardly clear and obvious (unlike the penalty shout at Everton)

My thought is that VAR operators have got it right more than wrong but the laws have to be tightened and the appearance of any impropriety be taken seriously.

Billions are spent on sports betting with careers and clubs futures on the line in some big games. If rules are not clear and operated effectively we might as well go back to not having it!

In the meantime someone will have to explain publicly how that was possibly not a penalty and Forest will get shafted for publicly pointing it out

  8. How do you turn the fans favorite boo boy Zac Vyner into a good footballer

How did you turn a bit part perpetual loanee like Cam Pring into a premier League target

How did you turn Antoine Semenyo into a premier league striker from an 80 page thread saying he wasn’t a championship striker as he couldn’t score goals.

What did you do to ensure Alex Scott becomes a superstar

Did you ever tell Max OLeary to get a proper shave

    Some similar sentiments here.

Firstly, I don’t expect us to hit “the heights” every game, we are always gonna be inconsistent.  But I can feel some positivity because it appears that LM may well have realised that low block, passive football isn’t gonna work.  Whatever the reason for the change, an epiphany, more time “on the grass”, luck, “it was always the plan but I needed Twiney”, etc, it appears that a higher / harder / more intense desire to get the ball back might be the predominant way forward.

I’ve just come off of some X-tennis (twitter) with James P, who said that in his post-match interview, LM referred to having Knight in midfield enables them to press with more intent from the front-line.

So we have gone from 424 block, with a first-line-4 with Knight but gaps behind, to a 343-press with Knight in the second-line, where he provides the legs, but also the ability to regain the ball in the opposition half and drive us forward against unstructured defences.  This feels like a big part of our recent improved performances (and results too).  It’s not the silver bullet, but feels important.

I’m not so sure about presses and formations, however we look more confident and tellingly Mr Manning sounds more confident. So something symbiotic is going on. I would not be surprised if some kind of come to Jesus meeting was had that obviously altered our approach!

I like you don’t expect to hit the heights every game, however when we are off it we are awful. A few less of those eye gouging performances would help my blood pressure!

  10. There are some nut jobs on here. Luckily I have most on ignore, but when other posters quote them it’s like a train wreck you can’t take your eyes off.

As for Mr Manning. I am all over the upturn and glad that we are not heading to Stoke looking for something.

An upturn in form in a mid table end of season snooze fest is good and I’m a good with that. However we were utter toss against a Huddersfield team that got tonked 4/0 at home yesterday, with a 50/50 Peno (I would have given it) papering over how shit we were and keeping an unbeaten run going.

My position is I will wait for now with season tickets, see what happens over the next two games and in the closed season. I am hopeful for Mr Manning but remain unconvinced!

Celebrating staying up when you can still mathematically go down.  Who would do such a foolish thing?

I thoroughly enjoyed that afternoon. Who cares how we were getting on at Crawley. 😂

Mansfield even had their shirts on!

I still think we should sign Colin Daniel!

They could have one of mine 'cause they haven't been used for yonks ! 😭😁

Oh dear. We live in hope!

Giving one to Bristol City is a rather permanent course of action! Besides we know they have a few, more often than not left ones, as has been revealed.

  13. He’s done well recently that is for sure!

Good luck to the lad. That will be some competition for places next season if they can maintain the form.

Personally on a not completely unrelated note, offers/strong enquiries for Pring Knight and Conway are inevitable. I suspect he may have a big season coming up with at least one maybe two of his Derby mates.

  14. I still have not renewed mine and my nephews.

I may before day one, but I have logistical constraints that often leave them empty. However I often give them to family and I know I always have two for cup ties or play offs 😂

For my sins I can watch every game (without a VPN) through BCTV for a fee and increasingly on ESPN+ which I pay again for.

I bought a shirt (the latest one every body complained about) and a black jacket (I was wearing when I ran into members of the board of Wycombe Wanderers in a Chicago hotel…They were big Mehmeti fans)

As most can imagine air fare, hotels, car rental, beer and often hospitality take their toll. However I am dyed in the wool!

But I also think I have more than earned my right to have a say.

The football we now play that I watched 45 times out of 46 league games @redsquirreland some cup ties is often soul crushing.

I have decided to hold off buying a season ticket until I have seen what the club looks like come the beginning of August and what Manning does with his resources in the post season.

I guess as I specifically don’t read anything about season ticket sales and how wonderful they are going I’m not the only one.

I am unconvinced with Mr Manning, but I don’t see him as the policy maker. I am totally unconvinced by JL BT and the financial bloke as a team that is anyway qualified to make decisions at our club.

The point!!! I’ll give it the entire closed season to allow those in power to convince me they are capable of at least giving us some hope of something, rather than relying on the blind loyalty of our supporters.

Nothing to play for. Fans not giving a left bollock until August now...................

I’m not sure I would give any bollock at anytime for any reason to Bristol City. I buy a season ticket and a shirt occasionally mind you!

In some respects I agree on both accounts but, Pickford is nailed on under Southgate and I’m not convinced the manager fancy’s Cole as part of this group for this Euros, and to be honest I kinda get that.

You may well be right. Leaving the Premier Leagues joined leading scorer (from midfield) at home would be very England. They left Atyeo at home in 58 after he scored the goal that got them there. That worked out well!

  17. Palmer is going unless he gets injured between now and the end of the season. Who knows what will happen with the other midfielders…fate can be fickle.

What a player this kid is! No nonsense

Pickford should be worried mind you!

You are actually wrong there. The Wurzels still continue to have a decent following amongst younger people, including students.

I was at the gig they played after the Bears v Glos game last season and it was absolutely packed.

Anyone that wants to get a decent position I'd advise leaving the game at least 5-10 mins early.

Thats The Dolman sorted. The south Stand will just go straight to The Wurzles gig!
