Glad you had a good day.
Shame about the result, but FGR are very very bad at the moment.
Redsquirrel said he was gonna meet you and I was invited too but had already made plans to watch city.
    Maybe next time, sir.
by the way, I still can’t believe you came all the way from Milwaukee to watch FGR!!!!

I’ll tell you what mate, the first couple of times I tried it I wasn’t sure, but it’s grown on me and I actually look forward to a coffee nowadays up there.

To be fair I didn’t ‘just’ come to watch FGR. There was a family party in Devon and various OXO family visits.

I do claim the assist for the City performance! I may review future attendance if we need a result 😂

I think we all deserve to have a little fun; perhaps at the negative **** who seem to think the only point of this forum is criticize my/our club we support. We could start a new threat naming & shaming those who find think it's hilarious to be smug & highly critical of our management and all good things BCFC

Lets start naming Silvio, BCFC 31, Cloudy, Uno, Ivan - all these people who will NOT read this post because it will make them chew so much humble pie they will hate waking up tomorrow to realize what total chumps they've made themselves look, that we did beat a Prem club with a bench today worth £95m, that Liam has yet again shown the football world he is smart and can get an average team to beat the best. I loved today even more knowing those we can name will have a horrible day; lets hope they also have a horrible day on Monday when they'll be unable to roll out their pre-written and predictable complaints about all those guys who do so much to help BCFC. I think a few of them will be man enough to own up and say we were again a good team today, all playing for the shirt, in front of a sell-out crowd at our great stadium and where Bristol Sport did absolutely nothing wrong.

Oh, and by the way anyone who enjoyed today and posts positively may be told by the neggies that they work for B.Sport - hilarious

    Just say No!

Did we deserve to win? With Leicesters numerous clear cut chances that they missed?

We do have consistency. We can consistenly put in decent performances against the better teams but then also consistently put in poor performances against the not so good teams.

Not sure about missed. Yes there was a glance off the post et al, however O Leary was outstanding!

Interesting, as from the Dolman the South Stand looked fullest I’ve seen this season, except for a couple of cup games!

Not great on Telly at all, around the ground, except the away end.

that is very close to how it was but fgr did have one shot, completely nuts mind, a direct free kick from inside their own half into a strong head wind which went wide by about 5 yards.

knowing city had already won made it easier to watch especially seeing a team made to look 10 times worse than city when they are shite too

We had a shot we had a shot we had a shhhooottt

If he said Liam Manning was the right man for the job & should be given time & money would you agree (him being an ex pro)?

I'd be surprised if many City fans went home today thinking Max papered over the cracks.

Not sure about any of what you are saying. You said disingenuous. I’ve pointed out he said what I said.

I don't need to listen to Gary Owers (much as I like him), I was there & witnessed it with my own eyes. Max was my MoM, but everyone played well. Their bench was worth > £70m, we were never going to prevent them making chances (today was the 1st time they've failed to score since Nov). We played well today & could/should have had a pen before any of their chances.  It was a good game, you couldn't argue against a draw but I don't consider us lucky to have won.

Maybe you don’t listen to Owers. However you said my comment was disingenuous! Just pointing out the ex pros opinion was the same as mine.

best laugh ive had in ages mate, thankyou👍👍. added bonus having a nice seat and decent nosh while watching the city game.  fgr  fans were most accommodating too.(couldnt help myself when i cheered mehmetis goal, immediately thinking i might have dropped us in it) feel sorry for cotts tho, cant see how hes going to get a tune out of his squad, their keeper was ok ,kept them in it and stockport just rallied at 3-0. too easy for them

It was fella. Good day out! Shame about the last 15. 😂

I think that's a bit disingenuous. We were never going to prevent then getting any chances as they're too good for that. However, we made decent chances ourselves & were denied a pen when TC was held back.  Max played very well, but it was a good overall performance with no real weak links.

Gary Owers made his opinion very clear who he thought was MotM post game on radio Brizz. Take a listen.

Despite supposedly losing the dressing room, being out of his depth, and boring I'd say our manager deserves a lot of credit for today's excellent victory against Premier League bound Leicester.

Although I expect several of you to disagree.

I don’t know about losing the dressing room. Luckily he hasn’t lost OLeary.

City played well enough no doubt. However OLeary who was easily man of the match papered over the cracks.

Forum clearly has some great lads who deserve massive respect on a personal basis , but making comments about going to FGR and missing one of the best games at City for a while you are going to get some stick

I fully expect that! Unfortunately the ground looked horrible on tv with all those empty seats and I said what I was doing. Hopefully this is the start of something and not just another t shirt.

Absolutely mullered by the look of those stats. Pathetic really.

FGR are awful. However Stockport are very decent. It could have been six

I watched the City game in their bar. I guess most of the South Stand did similar.

You can pretty much guarantee it will be the performance of the season now (even better than Southampton!!!) and a thumping 3-0 win 🤣

That’s what I’m hoping glos, with a team that’s not going toward OLeary for the most part

Things must be bad if you are choosing to watch the worst team in the football league.... Oh hang on

Though I am impressed that you are still choosing to get there in time to watch our game - that's dedication

Being serious if you are hoping to see a better game you are going to the wrong place

I’m hoping to see a game where my soul is not sucked out and I don’t end up wanting to shake someone named Lansdown, Tinnion or Manning by the neck @phantom

If I get to speak with SC that will be a bonus.

  16. For the first time ever will I not be going to a City game while being in the area!

As some know I am not always able to take up my seat due to a massive logistical disadvantage compared to most. 😂 But continue to keep a seat for myself and my nephew and watch every game home and away via BCTV ESPN et al

Tomorrow I have given both of my seats to my cousin (yes they are City supporters) as I simply can’t watch what is passing as football at AG at the moment and simply need a week off!

Tomorrow myself and another regular poster will be going to FGR. The plan being to get there in time to watch the city game (yes I’m still a glutton for punishment despite my protestations)

Hopefully staying away is the catalyst for a run of results and I can start to see my way clear to renew (I got an email about that today)

Ill update regarding the Vegan pies, how the gaps in the ground look on tv and SCs (blessings be upon him) chances of keeping them up!

GT became very accomplished although he was very Rovers biased initially for some time, regularly interviewing his old Rovers mates 'Ollie', 'Boris' Mehew etc and reliving their old dressing room in -jokes and chumminess, which was irritating, and it took him some years before he cut out that crap and emerged as the respected figure he eventually became among City fans.

Don't forget he left RB at one time to become assistant to Hollowhead at Rovers and had a bit of a nightmare in his early RB days with his OTT countdown to 'Judgment Day' before a Bristol derby which ended in serious trouble.

He certainly became a good interviewer and held SL to account, although I saw less evidence of probing questions towards Rovers!

Sims and Ray are long term fans and Owers and Honor previous long serving players who have genuinely strong feelings the club so I think we're better served than ever for City representation on RB, None of these are interviewers to compare with GT at his best when it comes to pushing awkward questions although I think Owers is definitely showing recent signs of getting there.

Hoskin, Durden and Hadwin all have to commentate and chat about Rovers just as much as the do City so they can't be partisan in any way even if one of the local clubs was in their blood (which they aren't) and as non Bristolians this suits them, as does having ex-City players with more knowledge and experience of the club to talk things over with.

They all let themselves down in my book by screaming about 'fantasic play by Rovers', 'brilliant goal by the gas', 'the Mem's rocking' etc none of which seem remotely possible to me but it's part of the job to appear excited and hype them up I suppose.

    .

    👍🏿

I get so annoyed at the passionless stuff. The one guy in particular who is just so bloody condescending to supporters while being as probing as a jam donut!

    Really ?

Not that anyone on here would have the balls to confront him personally.

    It's all done behind keyboards.

I really don’t think that’s true. I think there are a few who would happily tell him what they think! The opportunity well that’s another issue!

Flip side of course as that cringey SCaT evening. So I do get your point.

Brookman is the gas summariser so drivel is to be expected.

Hadwin and Durden imo. do a reasonable job considering neither are Bristolians but obviously won't have the same passion for City as they do the teams they support - Swindon and Portsmouth respectively iirc.

Ray is a long term City fan and he's growing on me, and all I know about Hoskin is I find him an annoying commentator.

In fact we've got Ray, Sims, Honor and Owers (despite his roots) all keen followers of City so as far as radio Bristol is concerned we've probably got more informed representation than ever before.

I suspect most would put GT as the most informed Bristol football representative. So I can’t go along with that. He’s gone right?

None of any that have been mentioned are incisive with interviews and have been a bit rubbish for a long time, with GT holding it together for years!

How informed they are I will bow to your knowledge of the individuals, perhaps they can continue (as noted before) to up their journalism and interview abilities to match their informed status and get back the listeners(many of whom post here) they have lost!

Just been listening to an excellent SOTC again this evening.

Well done @petehinton I thought you spoke superbly. The language you used, “toxic, divided, deflated, pessimistic” was so spot on and reflected the mood of many, many fans right now. You surfaced all the key issues from Lansdown’s disgraceful decision making and reasons for it to Manning’s incompetence and Tinnion’s meddling.

The other two guests were excellent as well and also presented the view that things are truly terrible right now; although I did disagree with the notion of having to stick with Manning.

Excellent comment towards the end as well @Davefevs !

I thought Ed Hadwin seemed shocked by the depth of feeling. I really hope Lansdown listened in; according to Hadwin the request has been out there for quite some time for him to be interviewed.

I can’t listen to Mr Manning and I won’t listen to this weeks SOTC as it seems reading the thread everything has finally been said. ON AIR!

SOTC until a couple of weeks ago and now it seems this week has been insipid dross with crap guests talking in circles to not be controversial, as someone who normally listens to every episode, it was infuriating

The main presenters on match day and on SOTC have by and large been utter utter utter crap. Rubbish passionless guests is one thing, Lansdown, Tinnion, Manning apologists another, but certainly two possibly three presenters who have no clue what they are doing or have any empathy with their listeners really underlines how shit any reporting on City has been since GT

The fact that Hadwin appeared according to posts here shocked by the guests outrage at where we are says everything about Radio Drivel sports department. If my memory serves the reporters Messrs Hoskin Brookman and Durden have been robbing a living along with Hadwin for years but it’s been highlighted exponentially since GT left.

It was once put to me that GT may have fell on his sword to save these excuses for sports journalists. I don’t know if that’s true, but if it is, for the love of god beg him to comeback and dump at least one of these guys!

The fact that a Drivel reporter gave a match day diatribe, basically implying supporters are idiots and he was some kind of voice of reason would be sackable at most stations, but not here.

Some part of the problem at BCFC is the disgracefully insipid, condescending bullshit that comes from our local broadcaster when it comes to Bristol City.

BRING BACK GT AND GET OWERS TO HOST SOTC and act like journos!!!

So, basically top-pro Weimann wants to play to get himself in the shop window.  Doesn’t quite say whether the trigger was in his favour, although I suspect it was.  Nige was quite in favour of contracts that dangled carrots.  Had he stayed and got the games to trigger, I wonder if he’d have chose to exercise the option and extend.  Guess that was taken out of his hands.

Not criticising the club here, but need to be careful they don’t lose all of the “culture club” this summer.

Rumour on twitter that Williams has extended, same person suggesting Cornick fixed up to leave.

If Manning had wanted Weimann none of it would have mattered he would have got his game time and extension.

    Unless

Influences above Manning told him don’t play him? This would have put Weimann effectively in his last year and if I’m not mistaken in a position through his reps to talk to other clubs I guess?

Yeah, I know, just highlighting the incompetence across the “board” (no pun intended).

    What a shit-show!

The ineptitude is quite staggering on the face of it.

    The sacking of the CEO

No one as the public face of the club. A Chairman who really doesn’t want to deal with fans and the media and won’t unless he absolutely has to

A Technical Director who recommend a manager with no experience at being anything else than someone else’s assistant coach except a failed stint at MK which if I’m not mistaken got them relegated eventually and HALF a season at Oxford that had them challenging for a play off spot.

That same Head Coach brought in to take over from……blah blah blah… I could go on and on.

Everything at the club is beyond incompetence. It’s as if someone wants to destroy everything that has been built since 2015.

The appointment of Johnson followed by Holden were bizarre. The appointment of Manning over Pearson and then the firing of all Pearson’s staff is utterly stupefying.

Who the hell is calling the shots here? Why do we as supporters keep showing up to watch a side that does nothing but bear the name of the club we have all supported since children?

The only thing I can think of is blind loyalty to an institution that only exists in our heads.

Just rename the club My Money My Choice FC and let’s be done with it!
