  1. I was at that one too. See my comment above!
  2. Clive Whitehead made his league debut at Millwall. We won 2/0, scorers Whitehead (from about a yard) and Bobby Gould. Had a conversation with him about it once.
  3. Very good report. But yes I agree as above. Wells work rate was immense. Their center backs were shot at the end due to the running they were forced into, that tiredness had a huge baring on the goal, to tired to jump, a poor clearance header and Jamo all alone on the penalty spot.
  4. I don’t see anything as being ‘urgent’ We have a team that is bedding in, that have defended well and only conceded a league goal to a blatant handball. We have a few to come back in, which has started and we created quite a few opportunities against a side tipped to challenge the top six scoring a winner from midfield in injury time Can we bring in players at the right price that improves the squad? Yes probably! Will we have an urgent need if we have to sell Vyner or if a very good offer comes in for Pring? Yes definitely. However what we are doing is looking at players we can develop to the level they can compete with what’s here as they complete their contracts. I don’t see the need for a target man striker, bringing one in can make things worse not better. As much as I liked Adebola it changed the way we played and we became more obvious and less effective. For example. The manager has a style and is mirroring what he has done before and at the moment we are competitive because of it.
  5. I don’t think he was a playing legend, but his commentary and fan input is now legendary. We soo long needed someone like him on the radio/BCFC audio feed. I often try and sink him with the video feed and always have him on audio when watching. Proper ledge!
  6. ? ok then. Advice is don’t wear it and test that theory.
  7. You would get chased in Bristol for wearing a Portsmouth badge. It does beg the question why?
  8. I’m sure Dave will answer your first sentence As for your second sentence No. He backed one manager to a dangerous level Either way. I’m an SL supporter through and through, however that appointment was poor (ask @Thatch35)! And he is not above criticism for quadrupling down on it.
  9. Yeah bloody Romans. I think Mr Lansdown might say, in order to be successful you have to have the infrastructure in place. Luton being the only obvious club to buck that and they got kicked out of the league not so many years ago. We have been shite since 82, but we are no longer shite without an excellent academy, ground, training facilities and finances. Mistakes have been made with managers and where money has been spent of course. But you don’t have to look very far to find owners whose minimum requirement is a ️
  10. Certainly Zac has some leverage to get a better contract. However I’m pretty confident he is being looked at by some PL clubs. Brentford were rumored to be interested. Regardless he speaks very well, obviously a smart boy!
  11. So @headhuntercan brush over your first half assessment?
  12. Their back three were given plenty to think about with some strong running by Bell and Wells in particular. They looked shot at the end, kind of underlined by a weak header and Matt James standing on his own on the penalty spot. Yeboah was the icing on their cake for their afternoon! On another note, Mr Pearson did sound a bit fed up with losing Scott on Radio Brizz. When you go as far as to mention the terms of the deal you are taking a shot at those that made it. Either way if all this injury mullarky is true we wouldn’t have had him playing anyway. So we lost Scott but found Yeboah is the way I look at it with 25m spread over quite sometime to come apparently.
  13. Whatever you say. I don’t know what it is your talking about specifically, but you may well know something I don’t. Either way we were looking better before LJ came in. However if anyone blagged anything I would suggest other more worthy candidates.
  14. Bet he loved that! What a way to win a football match.
  15. Vyner was easily man of the match today. Outstanding. Dickie was runner up to Vyner. They look like they are forming one hell of a partnership!
  16. LJ was always out of his depth. Both factually and metaphorically. I seem to remember a bloke named Pemberton. Or is my mind (it is very old now) playing tricks on me? SC and Lansdown fell out before the start of the new season and he consequently wasn’t given money by Mr Lansdown as there was an issue over player negotiations with someone Cotterill wanted to bring in We played with almost the entire promotion team until Cotterill was sacked which was inevitable as we were flirting constantly with the relegation zone. I was at Reading very close to the board room. After the match it flashed up on Sky sports we were in the relegation zone I will never forget mentioning it and being told by a very well known individual within the club “We know where we are” again Cotterill being sacked was inevitable at that point and I have no doubt that Mr Johnson jnr was on Mr Lansdowns mind then Aaron Wilbraham said in an interview a year or two ago that Steve Cotterill was never given the money Lee Johnson was. (That’s on one of the City bloggs I am sure someone can find it) and he found it difficult to come to terms with Eventually everyone had to come to terms with LJ was a failed experiment that cost multi millions in ridiculous wages transfer fees and agent payments, the last one being a particular bug bare of those in power. This is supported by our closeness to a points deduction over FFP and the amount of total dross City we’re paying to not even get on the bench My own personal thought on this is the comments made by the majority shareholder in support of LJ, “my money my choice” which on the face of it is true. However it was not just HIS money it was the clubs. It was the club that was going to suffer the consequences in fines and points deductions which were inevitable by product of not being promoted. Pearson has not only cleaned up Johnson Ashton and Mr Lansdowns total mess, without a fine and points deduction, but has made us competitive with a low spend dipping into the third and fourth divisions. Something everyone should remember including those on our board who sanctioned what went on, and be bloody grateful for, when they compare with the LJ period.
  17. The faster City and Bears do something that involves proper silverware, the faster the bloke becomes Sir Stephen Lansdown. And good for him when it happens. It will happen eventually either way.
  18. All that money we’ve made selling players TO AFC Bournemouth treatment room FC
  19. And don’t get tickets in the home sections!
  20. Mate. If you have tickets with our supporters it will be fun. IF YOU HAVE NOT AND YOU ARE GOING IN THE HOME TERRACES I WOULD REPORT YOU TO CHILD PROTECTION OFFICIALS. I hope that helps!
  21. Go and ask him! I’m sure he has good lawyers.
