  1. This isn't looking so good, still believe it? I think my £50 is safe.
  2. Most team's terms I've seen are household only. Haven't seen City's though as I cant go but I'm sure it must be answered on the website Why? That was Xmas bubble, nothing to do with football rules. They shouldn't be, but that's another argument I guess. If we're told it's so bad that everyone's xmas plans need to be changed again then I just don't understand the allowance of fans returning to football. You can see your family on Xmas day only but the next day you can go to football? Madness. I was told on here football was "covid safe" because of the restrictions in place, but you watch on the TV and the distancing looks suspect, people have their masks off or round their chins and they're singing/shouting which they're told not to.
  3. Isn't cup gate receipts normally shared, dont know if that's still going to happen in this circumstance but if they have to do all that and share the receipts then you have to wonder if its even worth opening up to fans? I bet they'll actually profit very little from it
  4. It sounds to me like you’re determined to do what you want and finding a way to justify it. the guidelines we’re all living by are pretty clear. “I’ve decided what I want to do is low risk” is your name Dominic Cummings? I’m just glad not everyone is deciding to do what they fancy based on their own idea of what’s right.
  5. Latest version appears to be: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/1374/contents In terms of meeting with your family as you've mentioned I would have thought it would be covered here: (2) No person living in the Tier 3 area may participate in a gathering outside that area which— (a)takes place outdoors in a place which satisfies the conditions in sub-paragraph (4) and consists of more than six people, or (b)takes place in any other outdoor place and consists of two or more people. IMO if you have to debate this much about whether it's allowed or not, purely based on intepretation of the law, than common sense says you probably shouldnt do. You're obviously going to, but if everyone made the same choices where would we be? Might as well let everyone do whatever they want? The issue is travelling to that tier 3 area, but I don't know if that's set in law. It's definitely against the guidance and again, it's not about what you can get away with, it's about what you should do. It would be covered by the fact that you should not travel from Tier 3 to Tier 2 unless essential, that's quite obvious. Even playing football locally we're not allowed to play against a tier 3 team and anyone from tier 3 in our team isn't allowed to play for us.
  6. As far as I can see, tier 3 restrictions are enforcable by law: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/1105/part/3/made The guidance is clear, you should not travel to or from tier 3 unless essential e.g. work/education/care. If you're not sure, they are here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-3-very-high-alert I don't want this to come across like I'm personally attacking your decision, but just because someone's observed the rules that are in place doesn't give someone a pass to break one when they decide they've had enough. We've all had enough. That said, obviously common sense dictates that the exact scenario you described would be "safe" and you'd be unlikely to get caught. Also your note about the pub is wrong too. Someone should not be travelling from tier 2 to tier 3 to go to a pub. It may sound silly if it's at the end of the road, but if everyone did it then what would be the point of the restrictions? As for the distinction between watching sport and travelling for leisure, again, you're not allowed to do either from tier 3 to 2 or vice versa. Again, you can only cross those tiers for specific reasons and watching sport or leisure is not one of them. The note about following your own tier rules if you do travel is for those people travelling for the specific reasons. E.g. if you travel from a tier 3 to a tier 2 for work, you shouldn't then go to the pub or somewhere in that area that you couldn't do in your own. Tier 2 restrictions specifically say you should not travel to Tier 3, but that you can travel within your tier or to tier 1 (however you'd follow your tier 2 resrictions in those areas e.g. you could travel to cornwall but you couldn't go inside with a group of 6 people)
  7. You should avoid travelling into another tier except where necessary, so no you shouldnt be going from tier 3 to tier 2 to watch football You probably shouldnt be going to meet your family to exchange presentsif they are in tier 3, if it's tier 1/2 to 1/2 then you can.
  8. Happened in the first games, West Ham played their bubble song. Loads of fans with their masks off singing. It's safe though, there's restrictions in place! /s
  9. 5 seconds of watching MOTD, West Ham fans not wearing their masks and singing ? Those precautions that make it “safe” are going to plan
  10. Finally allowed to play, game gets called off for waterlogged pitch ?
  11. IMagine watching that in a packed Billy's Bar at Elland Road... ? Dont know how I contained myself
  12. I’d definitely hugged more people at Ashton Gate, or arguably even more at away games, than I have in my house ?
  13. Looks like friends and family group is a Brentford scheme for the tickets, as opposed to any covid “bubble” The newer article says same households only, I wonder if that changes the interests of many people here if they had to attend alone?
  14. Only 250 pages or so Does their rules state who they can attend with? Assume by themselves / same household only?
  15. I actually think that’s going under the radar a little. I know people say they’re professionals they should be able to adapt etc but once you’ve scored in front of a crowd it’s a whole different experience to do it in an empty ground. The atmosphere probably gives a lot of players the buzz and a bit of an edge too. I guess on the flip side it allows some players to express themselves more and less nerves
  16. Quite interesting, not sure how I’d feel about one of my team mates being that worried about his camera in the build up and during a game? Ok when you’re winning maybe but not if he starts making howlers. I thought the crowd noise was played into the stadium, I guess not?
  17. Pretty clear then you can only attend with your household or support bubble, not you plus 4 friends. I wonder if that changes anyone’s mind about going to football? Or if they’d just lie about it. I thought that would be fairly obvious as tier 3 can’t have fans However I feel for non league clubs, having played those levels as well I full understand how important it is for them to have match day revenue. Unlike my thoughts on league clubs, most non league grounds (especially below the national league) are completely outdoors and have far more space than they will require. Also they were already open before. That said, I also think non league is where you will see less adherence to the rules. These clubs tend to have big communities and everyone knows each other, i don’t think it’s likely they’ll stay away from each other at the games. We’ve already seen videos of Fa cup games where everyone rushed together to celebrate or even ran on the pitch to celebrate with players. Also the clubs can’t afford to have as many stewards as they may require to police it effectively and how do you stop away fans travelling to games in tier 2?
  18. Maybe so, but if my pub opens the doors and ensures good ventilation (like they’ve been mandated to do to be covid secure) I still can’t go there with anyone outside my household - so are we making exceptions for stadiums?
  19. On the Corbyn one police said they won’t retrospectively issue fines, so basically do what the hell you like as long as you don’t get caught in the act
  20. I know, I do realise that but you’re breathing in the same air. Have you seen that interesting graphic about how it spreads and the differences with ventilation? Thought that was interesting
  21. So I have a genuine question about the football, and I have no idea how it was in Europe. tier 2 cannot mix indoors with anyone outside their household but upto 6 outside? What are concourses treated as in football stadiums? Technically inside? Especially at modern stadia such as Wembley, Emirates, City of Manchester as a few I can think of that I’ve been to where you go inside a sealed area. So are we expecting football to be with your own household only? This is where I see non league grounds like The Memorial ( ) having less problems as you can turn up and safely always be outside, no problems with the technicalities of that. Bigger, modern stadia seem problematic to me? I still think it’s a twisted message that you can have 1000 people at an indoor venue but not go see 1 friend at their house (or for me, parent) - though I also do fully understand the “covid measures” etc and why it’s deemed safer so not looking to continue that debate.
