Well it is if you believe their side of the story. displaying a banner with “all lives matter” is not about protecting the cenotaph, that plus getting pissed up and singing Eng ger land chants is antagonistic at best. As for their statement that they’d have supported the democratic removal of the statue, did they actively add their support to this whilst people were trying to get it removed? (Honestly don’t know, but if there is evidence they did then fair play)

You can take sponsorship money without renaming the ground - especially when the owner owns the company too. We still play at Ashton Gate not the Lansdown Arena. Just a thought on that, don’t know enough about the rest to comment

I think you better look into what day to day things Saudi invest in before beating Newcastle with the morality stick. It’s sad to see this level of investment ruin our game, but you’d struggle to get by without using something linked with the Saudi PIF.

I expect some people rely on SM for work/business but I'm sure most don't really care. A slight annoyance if trying to get hold of someone, but if you've got them on whatsapp you must have their phone number. My phones on do not disturb after 8pm so didn't really notice much different myself ?

Any idea if the tickets are "e-tickets"? I could onlyt confirm I could go now that I've managed to get fuel (else I cant work the rest of the week!) If I buy a ticket its obviously not going to get to me and I dont fancy trying to locate a ticket office at Millwall (not even sure you can because you are tunnelled into the ground?) Any thoughts from anyone? Still spare? I could meet you at london bridge or anywhere else. WOuld pay the full amount just saves my hassle of whether it's e ticket or not etc

That's brilliant Really enjoyed those years in the East End, used to just go along on my own but you didn't feel like you were there on your own once you got in the stand. I've been to a lot of games as a neautral and not seen many home atmospheres like that in the modern era

I’m not as old as some, so my most prominent memories are being an ST holder when the East End was reopened. Used to love when the east end would sing I am a cider drinker in full from start to finish Ive missed away games so much through the pandemic, hoping to get to millwall this week as it’s local for me

It’s very open to interpretation like most things in football but a save is exempt from the “deliberate attempt” rule. I believe a block/deflection also doesn’t count if it just hits the defender, but if he swings a leg or tries/reaches to make a clearance, block, pass etc then it’s a deliberate attempt. Taylor Moore / assambolonga is a good example of it

I don't necessarily agree with this bringing up of old posts (depending on the content) but if I was a footballer, or any celebrity / public eye I'd have made it an absolute priority to pay someone to clear any trace of any inappropriate content from my social media accounts. Or delete accounts and start again. For anyone who's wondering it's so easy to search on twitter for someone's posts and just use a range of particular slurs or "keywords". It's not someone literally sat trawling through posts from 10 years ago There's no reason now since the first few people fell foul of this that people continue to get caught out. There's probably companies now that offer social media "cleansing" as a service, people probably do it for job interviews and such

The flip side to the cant wait 45 mins argument is that if people didn't have to wait til half time to get a drink then queues would be shorter at half time. It's impossible at the moment to get out, get a drink and get back without missing any of the action. I'd at least just like the option to finish my drink at my seat rather than have to rush it down in the concourse
