  1. That looks suspiciously like @Kid in the Riot. It’s how he surreptitiously sneaks into conversations in a way no one notices so that he can pick up these snippets of information.
  2. Now there’s a thought…..you could take one for each game, and staple them all together and you’d have something more like the season ticket books we had years ago. I’m sure there must be plenty of people who still pine for those! From the days before our entitlement to books of paper tickets was thoughtlessly torn away from us by a club that just doesn’t care. And we were forced to adopt these new-fangled plastic cards ?
  3. Take a photo of it Dolly. (Or even a screenshot - though that would be beyond me!). Print it off. Into the box. Simple!
  4. One of my favourite ever tales on OSIB.
  5. Crikey: I hope that’s not a reward card to put in your wallet. Faced with a purchase that comes with a discount for a season ticket, attracts reward points, and then needs paying for, poor @Bristol Rob won’t know which way to turn ?
  6. I agree. I suppose we should be grateful that our only grumble is about whether or not we have a card. It could be a lot worse……..not having a seat, not having a row, not even having a whole stand ??
  7. But you don't mind me having to pay an extra £10 on the cost of my season ticket in order to cover the additional admin costs of yours? I've also followed the club through 60 years of thick and thin!
  8. I don't think anyone has a problem with that though GR - not that I've seen anyway. As I've read it the only issue is that people who have a genuine need for a card will probably now end up paying as well. I don't think the club has helped: they've been quite unclear/ambivalent/inconsistent about whether this is about need or choice. (So is mine: not sure what it's called now though - card, ticket, image?!)
  9. I think there’s maybe a link between these two things. I don’t think anyone would argue with there being no charge where there’s a genuine need. The problem is that it’s become very evident that the club can’t easily distinguish where that need exists because there are some people who will provide misleading answers when asked. I’m not sure that simply not owning an smartphone is a protected characteristic, but there may be other instances where a protected characteristic might make it difficult to use a smart phone. It’s illegal to make a charge specifically for making reasonable adjustments. However, if (as is now the case) there’s an option to have a physical card, albeit with a charge attached, then there’s no need for any ‘reasonable adjustment’ beyond that. So, they either continue to, in effect, offer a choice. And make a charge if you choose the physical card. Or they take away the choice, but provide it only where there is a genuine need (and somehow figure out how to do that!) at no charge.
  10. I think there will still be an option to have a card in the future. There just might be a charge for having it.
  11. I think there will be enough of a gap between the two for even spanners like you - and me - to cope!! And anyway, with the old system I frequently failed to get my season card out in time! And for cup games I’d usually left it at home anyway!
  12. The implication on the club faqs is that, with a digital card, you no longer show it to the sales person, you scan it instead.
  13. That's a good question! No idea what the answer is - but my guess would be it doesn't do both at one time. There must be a process for determining the cost before the process for paying for it. But whatever happens, there must still be the same manual adjustment option in place as before - for those with physical cards. So something should work one way or the other. I guess we'll find out on Saturday!
  14. If they pay £10.99 for his podcast, he’ll probably tell them.
  15. From the Barnsley fans forum, talking about GasChat ”someone on there reckons that they have asked us to switch the home and away games but we have refused, but doesn’t seem to have any evidence to back up that statement” Doesn't take long to get the measure of them, does it?
  16. What sort of investment are they talking about though? Cash? Brown envelopes to planning committee members? Or an extra set of allen keys?
  17. Wasn't there a Dr Faustus - with blue affiliations - used to post on here? Always quite a funny poster if I recall. Any relation? (Well, obviously some relation, as are all G+++ds, but same person?)

  19. That’s true, although that’s partly what makes me think the default is the 3. Up to now, what we had hasn’t been entirely his doing. Now it is - and as you say that seems to mean that he starts with a 3. But yes I also think that flexibility is important. I sometimes struggle with the difference between ‘flexible and fluid’ and ‘tinkering and worrying more about the opposition’!! I guess it depends on the result! Or the manager! But, seriously, yes I’m all for that flexibility and adaptability if we can use it wisely. And ‘in-match’ too - I think having players who can adapt in real time during the game is important and we seem to be developing that. In fairness, we always get points at Stoke!
  20. In one! And not forgetting the crucial fact that everyone else is to blame for the resultant mess!
  21. Sorry Dave (and @E.G.Red) - missed that last night. (Great minds……..though, eh?!) But as both @chinapig and @1960maaan allude to, it’s a bit hard to figure out NPs various comments on this. And it does appear from both the tail end of last season, and from this summer’s pre season that we’re setting up to play 3 across the front. We’ll see, I guess!
  22. Are we past playing them both as a front two? Does that have too many implications for how we’re now set up?
  23. I agree on Conway. If this is the season when he fulfils the promise of last year then we’ve got another £25m player on our hands. Nothing is worth more than goals in football. He’s one of those players who can get a goal out of nowhere, even when he seems to be having a quiet game. Priceless. Last season I often felt that he looked at his best alongside Wells. Clearly that’s not how NP sees it, so will be interesting to see what they’ve been working on in the summer and how that starts to pan out next week.
  24. I think the Bountyhunter was before One Team in Bristol, wasn’t it? OTIB was the one with the red cover.
