  1. Based on guesswork? You don’t say?! ? Seriously, one of the reasons they do it is because it generates interest and gets their magazine talked about. And it works. And although I recognise the predictions for what they are, I quite enjoy reading those accompanying pieces where a fan of the club talks about their expectations, about who else they see doing well, about other teams they like visiting and so on.
  2. Me neither! But I wasn’t sure whether that was just because I have no idea at all about child seats! I wondered if what they call a “child seat” is what you call a “proper car seat” and “booster seat” what you call a “backless booster seat” - and then it’s just down to the weight of the child? Rather than age. But I have no experience I’m afraid! When I was little we just got chucked in the back of a van! Enjoy the holiday!
  3. Don’t know if these help. The French one looks very technical! But maybe more thorough. The RAC one seems to be a summary (. You have to scroll down a bit to get to the section on child seats) https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F628?lang=en https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/travel/country/france/
  4. Whatever Will Be Will Be……..Doris Day
  5. I’m not volunteering, but sounds like this might be something for someone who’s going to the open day next week to ask about? There’ll be people there to answer questions about digital ticketing.
  6. Oh, I don’t know. Having no idea what’s going on has got 126 pages worth of attention here, and still counting. ?
  7. They’re waiting to see whether you ring up on your smartphone to chase them!
  8. OK…not exactly the same, but just trying to be glass half full, that’s all ? Seriously, as I said, I have those concerns. But at the end of the day he’s a professional, and he’s a very good defender. I certainly wouldn’t be sorry if he stayed.
  9. I think you’re an old luddite……but that did make me laugh ?
  10. I know what you mean….but then I think of Andi Weimann. Who did pretty much the same, and came back to score a hatful of goals.
  11. And yet it’s Harry Dullmoan that’s the most common mis-spelling by far!
  12. Good post Downend. I think covid was another factor in the collapse of the model - but otherwise, yes agree. You said you’d copied and pasted from word - did you miss a bit at the end? Be interested to see what followed.
  13. My worry is that City’s pre season results tend to be a bit like the pre match bit of the matchday thread on OTIB When everyone’s moaning about the team it usually means we go on and get a good result. And when everyone’s happy with the starting XI they let us down. Likewise, a good pre-season usually proves a false hope for a dismal season, whilst after a disastrous pre season we generally do well. On the other hand…..we’re doing things differently now ??
  14. Nice, isn’t it? They’ve long had white with that band as an away kit, but it’s taken City to show them where is the right place to put the band ?
  15. I went to a Milan game end of last season and much the same as far as tickets was concerned. Dead easy via the AC Milan website, print at home or put on your phone, you have to provide a passport number - and remember to take your passport to the game because they do check.
  16. It would be very unusual to be as little as two weeks. And then it would likely be because of other unknowns like playing in Europe. The first four weeks of the new season, through to 20 September, have already been done. And I’m not sure ours are much better - especially at PL level. It’s by no means unknown even for ours to change at 5 weeks notice when Sky have their say. I agree though; best way is to just make the most of it and have a long weekend if you can do that. There’s plenty to do in Milan - and it’s not impossible that you get another match in to that same weekend. Monza is no distance at all from Milan for example.
  17. The TV schedules usually come out a month to six weeks beforehand. So, you can either book flights and make a long weekend of it (Fri - Tues) or wait til the schedules are confirmed.
  18. Those Sunday dates and times are the default until the TV schedules are announced. So don’t assume it will be a Sunday in December.
  19. This one’s quite effective, if you’re looking for recommendations…..?
  20. The Who at Bath Pavilion. They were quite big then (Won't Get Fooled Again era) but those were the sort of venues they played then!
  21. Three Lions…….The Lightning Seeds
  22. Ooooh! You missed Bowie ???? Apart from the Colston Hall gig, I saw him at the Milton Keynes Bowl ( @PHILINFRANCE was probably there too!!) and those are probably the two best I’ve seen. Second best would be Leonard Cohen. No-one who hasn’t seen him believes that, but truly outstanding.
  23. Ha ha! Not just parallel lives but sharing a pavement for a night!!! I didn’t see Rod Stewart. Roxy Music, yes, but I think it was either at the Hippodrome or even in Bath. I have a vague idea that I saw Roxy Music at the Bristol Uni Student Union before they got very well known, but I may be wrong about that!
