Really? You’d rather be 13th and the season effectively over than 4th and heading for the play offs? I find that either hard to believe. Surely it‘s about the right loanee at the right time in the right position, rather than simply loans are good/bad. Of course loanees are, by definition, not ‘our’ players and likely to move on after a year. But how long do ‘our own’ players sometimes stay? Tammy Abraham is an example of a successful loan. And he played as many games for us as did our very own Adam Webster.

If memory serves, Notts County managed to completely replace a whole three sides in one close season back in the 1990s. It’s a country mile short of AG level capacity or quality - but it would be a huge improvement on what they’ve got. (Mind you, what Notts County knocked down was an improvement on what R###s currently have.) And tick those other boxes. My feeling is that @1960maaan may be right: it’s just an attempt by Wael offload and to find someone who’s going to get caught out the same way he was.

It doesn’t look to me like the letter itself is a con or a scam: it’s got (presumably) legitimate and correct details on it and it’s not directly asking you to provide any payment or even any details to the person sending it. Whether ‘the operator’ - the person making charge - is legitimate : I guess you’d have to go back to the original signage, or check their details from elsewhere (presumably you’ve got other documents such as the original charge notice etc) and check whether they’re registered. (Not sure they have to be, but if they are then that alone answers your question!) There are two trade bodies - see the link below If it’s private land and clearly marked as such then the landowner (through the company) is entitled to charge - and there’s more and more use cctv so you don’t realise at the time. But there are codes of practice that have to be followed and if they’re not then the court is unlikely to side with the company if it gets to court. But the ability to increase the fine after 14 days (or to reduce it for early payment!) is certainly legitimate and there’s always a degree of risk associated with changing your arm about whether it goes to court and/or winning in court. There’s no easy answer to that. Pretty sure the linesman flagged it straight away. He was right in front of us so it was fairly plain to see, and certainly no delay which suggested anything coming from the 4th official.
