  1. It looked better; but they still fell over several times! At one point, both their strikers were closing down our defenders and they both slipped and fell over at the same time ???
  2. Ha ha! Comes from @Davefevs, but it’s not on the OS! There’s a dilemma ??
  3. It doesn’t look to me like the letter itself is a con or a scam: it’s got (presumably) legitimate and correct details on it and it’s not directly asking you to provide any payment or even any details to the person sending it. Whether ‘the operator’ - the person making charge - is legitimate : I guess you’d have to go back to the original signage, or check their details from elsewhere (presumably you’ve got other documents such as the original charge notice etc) and check whether they’re registered. (Not sure they have to be, but if they are then that alone answers your question!) There are two trade bodies - see the link below If it’s private land and clearly marked as such then the landowner (through the company) is entitled to charge - and there’s more and more use cctv so you don’t realise at the time. But there are codes of practice that have to be followed and if they’re not then the court is unlikely to side with the company if it gets to court. But the ability to increase the fine after 14 days (or to reduce it for early payment!) is certainly legitimate and there’s always a degree of risk associated with changing your arm about whether it goes to court and/or winning in court. There’s no easy answer to that. This might be useful - and it includes a summary of the code of practice. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-clamps-down-on-rogue-parking-firms-with-new-code-of-practice
  4. Pretty sure the linesman flagged it straight away. He was right in front of us so it was fairly plain to see, and certainly no delay which suggested anything coming from the 4th official.
  5. Boogie Wonderland….Earth Wind and Fire
  6. Does it also make a difference that Bell and Mehmeti are different types of player and need different types of service from JD? Struck me that Bell is more of a runner, wants balls to run on to as he makes those clever runs between defenders. Mehmeti stays out wider and wants balls more directly to him.
  7. Well, since Luton. Similar in that we just can’t keep the ball Edit; sorry, @AppyDAZE, just seen your earlier post.
  8. And, to make it worse, with 15% of the season still to go!
  9. Or….they budgeted for being shit and getting relegated. Which you couldn’t blame them for ?
  10. Just heard on tv about a study that suggests swearing reduces pain, or at least helps manage pain. Which might explain why is so prevalent at Ashton Gate.
  11. When the Red Red Robin Comes Bob Bob Bobbing Along.......Al Jolson
  12. Going Underground……The Jam
  13. And how much will comp to Potter (and coaching staff?) add to that? ?
  14. He’s been there less than 7 months! Not having a go at either of you: it’s what lots are saying, and it’s the level of expectation nowadays, but it really is incredible that can be thought of as too long/long enough. And, again without this being in any way intended as controversial, might give NP cause to be glad he has someone like SL as owner.
  15. This season they all had STs in S82 and moved to block A. Next season they'll all have STs in block A and will move to S82. ?
  16. Yeah, agree with this. Another example - his shooting seems quite wayward - yet he scored goals for Wycombe. He knows where the goal is - just needs to get one on the scoresheet and relax.
  17. The worry is that it’s the umpteenth game recently where we’ve dominated the first 45 minutes, looked full of intent going forward, but just never really threatened to score. Just no quality into or around the box. The positive was TC back who did finally manage to get a goal. But what frustrated me more than anything was the manner of the goal we conceded: not so much the failure to win aerial challenges (that was always going to be a concern today) but what led up to it. There has been lots of discussion on here about how we need to get smarter, more streetwise, a bit cannier. And probably a view that we’ve got better at that. But it’s not just about “professional” fouls for the sake of it. And today was a perfect example of how to get the professional foul wrong. We managed to pick up a booking, and all for the sake of breaking up open play, from which Reading had been next to useless all game. And to present them with a set piece, which had always looked like the only way they were going to threaten.
  18. Doesn’t mean they won’t have a moan! And they have fallen over several times. (As have City players a couple of times, but I think we’re anticipating it more now).
  19. If Reading lose I think they’ll have a right moan about the state of it. And with some justification.
  20. Same here. Looking forward to it because I loved the last two. But at the same time a bit apprehensive that by the end of it I’ll wish they’d left it at two. I agree about Walken. But I’d be really sorry if any of them changed really. They were all great, and just made a perfect bunch together. Completely diverse in so many ways, but somehow it all came together in so many ways!
  21. Is it fair to say @Davefevs, given those dates, that this is effectively the table for the 22-23 season? I haven’t done an exact comparison, but at a glance it looks like there’s quite a significant correlation between the amount spent on fees and current (likely final) league positions. Which is a bit sad.
  22. A lot of rain in between too. The pitch does seem to have struggled this season. It will be interesting how many players keep falling/sliding over today.
