  1. Great bit of commentary on sky in the Leeds v Leicester game. It was when Summerville had a shot and put it 30 yards over the bar, commentator said just a reminder not only did the Dutch invent total football they also invented the clog 🤣

From a brief chat with their manager afterwards it sounds like they've had a bit of bad luck, missed their last 8 penalties, 6 of those when 1 goal ahead.

My dad went down to Exmouth for the BMF away game down there (also ended 3-2 to BMF) and he said they weren't a bad side then either.

Bashley were easily the worst side I've seen at BMF this season. Didn't try and win at all, but unfortunately got the point they came to get- also the first time I saw a 0-0 down there in about 15 years.

Bashley beat Paulton 4-1 on Saturday so that shows where we are at. Tough gig for Tooze's 1st shot at management.

For the first time in about 18 months BMF won in added time, whereas for the last 18 months they've been losing games in added time

Fully deserved today, although Exmouth didn't look like a side in a relegation fight.

Definite red card for them and Exmouth lucky to escape another. Farm won in the 98th of 98 minutes and the referee said that if Farm didn't score from the shot they'd have been awarded a penalty

That's not good to hear about Exmouth not looking like a relegation side. I watch Paulton and at the moment and they very much look like a relegation side. Exmouth are the only team below them in the table.

Pope LBW - originally not out but on review just clipping the top of leg stump. What happened to “umpires call?

Btw - what happened to Mikey and Bumble as commentators? Did they quit or not offered new contracts?

They were both top commentators and very amusing at times.

Holding retired, Bumble was got rid of by sky. Has been on talksport commentary for this test match. Still as entertaining as ever.

Didn't Leeson score a couple of goals for the first team in a friendly and looked decent?

Yeah he did. Not sure what has gone wrong as I had high hopes for him. Always looked a standout in the under 23 games I saw last season and the season before.

Bunting has been in great form the last few weeks culminating in tonight’s win - his first PDC trophy. He’s an emotional guy and only just kept himself together during his interview. The camera panned over to his young lad who’s the image of his dad and was bouncing with pride and joy!

A word for MVG - he was magnanimous in defeat and that’s always good to see.

Bit different to MVG's last interview after beating Bunting where he called him a bottler!!

Cheers mate, I’m 18 now so have played against a fair few of them or am friends with some of the 18s now. From what I’ve been told it’s an extremely talented group (Tinnion has mentioned it numerous times).

As with the way the youth leagues are structured it is not possible to get promoted due to travel and the amount of academy’s around these days so they stay in one league. This 18s group many have been together for the last 4/5 years as within academy set ups having been in and around it I can say there are a few major checkpoints although I was never good enough to play for city.

These are U12 where the club will look at how physically developed the player is, technical ability, behaviour/attitude, willingness to learn.
U16 where a decision is made on scholarships at city I believe these to be around £700 per month to the player (not for certain) and is decided on the belief in the player to physically progress into the men’s game.

U18 is where a select few will receive their first pro deal. City typically award 3-5 first pros per year with the more “talented” teenagers signing three year deals most will sign for two.

Under the current crop of 21s there are numerous that I imagine will not be here next season due to how the club views it in three year batches.

From the current crop successful pros have been: Scott, Bell, Conway, Low and Towler with others now or will be playing at a decent level in non league such as Pearson, Owers, Clark.

I believe it is telling that the club feels that there is a lacking of players of real quality between the ages of 19-21 (bar SPH) where they have physically developed into their body unlike a 17 would have. Hence Stokes and Murphy signing.

From my knowledge the most promising players from the 18s as it stands are Brandon Bak who was signed from weston Super mare first team at the beginning of the season having broken into their squad at 16. Strong, fast and a real out and out 9 he’s scored many of the deciding goals for the u18s this season including in the last round of the FA youth cup.

Taine Anderson left back has trained with the first team and impressed with his willingness to get forward and has featured for the 21s

Raekwon Nelson LW/RW Direct, pacey winger who uses his low centre of gravity to his advantage has been on the bench for the first team this season.

Henry Kasakove RW again a direct winger with a taller frame though and brilliant feet for a taller stature.

The most exciting I believe is Jed Meerholz would not be surprised at all to see this name very soon in and around the first team 6”2 left footed centre mid and a real engine on him a hard worker in midfield.

Believe Jed Meerholz had some 1st team game time under NP in pre-season.

  8. Magnificent England. Hartley certainly gets revs on the ball. Stuffed a lot of negative comments, on various platforms back down the throats of the authors. The 3rd innings of a test match is usually the crucial one and so it proved in this test.

Maybe against Champ teams we can afford for one or two more to gamble.

Not sure it would have been a great idea tonight to go gung ho and let Gibson White kill us on the counter

I said first half, MGW wasn't on the pitch then.

  10. We played very well tonight, however we have an issue at the moment where we are not getting enough bodies into the box in open play. A number of times tonight especially first half, TC was the only player in the box for the cross to come in to. Needs addressing.
