  1. Imagine having an average crowd attendance that is smaller than your closest City rivals - whilst they're ground is being redeveloped and has at least 1 stand shut because it's being knocked down and/or rebuilt.......
  2. What they would give to have a stand half as good as the Atyeo. Now think back to when that stand was built, how old it is compared to the rest of the stadium, and how dated it now is compared to everything else around it. Need we say anything more?
  3. It's the sort of drivel that the deluded few would believe though, so wouldn't surprise me if it was said with the full belief that it was true.
  4. What people also forget is that Bristol has a very big student population. 2 very big universities with people coming from all over the country, and whilst some may show an interest in one of the local teams, some won't be bothered with anything other than their "home" team, and a lot will have absolutely no interest in football whatsoever. Figures and percentages can be read in many different ways, but as you say @Midlands Robin, this particular stat is pretty useless.
  5. Too right they're unbelievable.....
  6. His number was pulled out of the hat.....
  7. But it's cost effective (cheap) they keep local businesses going (Go Outdoors, B&Q), and they're far quicker to install (put up) than a new permanent stand/building is. Also when they have to move, they can pack it up and go. We mock Wally and the deluded/unwashed few, but they're ahead of the times really. If the pitch(es) are ever flooded, then once again- they just pack it all up and go up the road. It's genius really when you think about it. ?
  8. Agreed. Too many playing it safe and taking virtually no chances to overtake. Even Hamilton didn't/couldn't really do much. Yep Norris signs up for Bristol Sport
  9. They barely need a 5k stadium, and the sooner they wake up and realise that, the sooner people will start taking them seriously. 15k indeed....
  10. Can't be right - they're at the bottom!! Mind you our league table over the same period wouldn't be much better....
  11. Gas logic, signed for a team higher up the ladder that is managed by our last successful manager. Shrewsbury will always be a smaller team compared to them is what they're probably saying...
  12. Be nice for him to play for a professional club. I expect the saggies are all saying he was shit anyway.
  13. He's a difficult player to judge. On one hand, he frustrates so much because he doesn't score enough (or at times look likely to), and that money could get a decent replacement, or cover the wages of a few free's. Palace aren't stupid, they know this, along with the fact that we need to rebuild and let's be fair, cash in the hand would be beneficial. On the other hand, he is probably one of the players that is likely to go on and prove a lot of people wrong - Bobby Reid style. We haven't looked like scoring much this season, so to knock him for not scoring enough, could be a bit unfair. Maybe with a decent pre season, and decent coaching from the right type of coach (e.g. one that is/was able to find the net regularly), he could improve ten fold. Was there not a club supposedly interested in him recently? If there is anything substantial in both "rumours" then let the bids come in, and see where they go. The thing with these Prem clubs, is that while people are saying "he won't get game time for ages/if at all", at that price they can afford to take the gamble. For them, it's the equivalent of us taking a "punt" on Engval. Won't miss it at all. I'm in the undecided camp with him. Frustrates but has potential. Agree with the Posh comments - put a high price on him and see who takes the bait. Start playing proper hardball.
  14. 1000 - 2000 fingers maybe. 5 fingers on one hand (not including the thumb) brings the total 100 - 200. That's about right. I've also now worked out how to do addition gas style. What a morning!
  15. What sort of dog- four legs and a fur coat, or 2 legs and a fur coat?
  16. So do I now after reading that bit
  17. Deluded. Must come naturally to them.
  18. 26, or 24,000 they haven't taken into account that at that time, many people went to both grounds to watch whoever was at home. A long, long time before it become the norm to pledge allegiance to one club and one club only. Also agree that most of those attending would now be dead and buried a long time ago!! To be fair, the original gas poster was probably trying to work out an average on his hands, but got stuck after adding 1 to 1....
  19. I took "one million strong" to mean that that's their transfer budget for the next 5 years (because everything is in 5 years time...) It can't mean anything else. There definitely isn't a million of them around the world. Only other explanation is that their calculator is broken.
  20. He may as well be temporary..... They struggle to get one appointment right (including him) so they've got absolutely no hope of appointing someone on a temporary basis.
  21. Oh dear what a pity never mind. Now over to Facebook to rip the piss
  22. Doubles up as the toilet block.
  23. They're better at spouting bullshit than we are I guess
