  1. Brother in law who lives in Colchester, said today that he's heard rumours that Colchester "were in trouble and could fold/finish for good". Just something that he's heard so not sure if there's anything to it, but could be the start of something much bigger happening at that level.
  2. Colchester's is just off the A12, and there are a few localish, although still about a 10 minute or so drive away. Not a great deal within a quick walking distance though. With that in mind somewhere like Carrow Road would be the ideal setup, with a hotel right next to the ground. Down side is the town centre being about a 5 minute walk away.
  3. Might work until they all try leaving 10 minutes before halftime/full time..
  4. We have 9 games left to play. So if you play; Saturday Wednesday Saturday Wednesday Saturday Wednesday Saturday Wednesday Saturday That's 4 weeks. Scrap the two legged playoff games, just play once at a neutral stadium, 2 games on the same day kicking off at the same time, that could be the following Wednesday. Playoff final is then played at another neutral ground a week later. Season done just over 5 weeks. Hold all playoff games at grounds central to where both teams are playing, have all playoff games played at the same time (Champ/L1/L2), because let's be fair, you're not going to want to play at Wembley when its empty, so doesn't matter where you play, so long as it's not a turnip field (sorry saggies). Alternatively just play the games out on Fifa.
  5. They'd have to have the camp pirate riding it on there somehow..
  6. That's what Wally uses to sort out his pennies...
  7. £24m and absolutely nothing to show for it. You could understand it if they had just finished building a new state of the art stadium, and were at the top end of the league fighting for the title - a bit like us putting the double winning team together by taking the best available players of the league. Shit ground, shit players, and their biggest prospect since £10m Matty Taylor (whatever happened to him btw?), has reverted back to type and stopped scoring goals. It's ok though, the nice man with a lovely watch says he's doing everything within his power to ensure the future of the club
  8. I work at a school, we've been told by a parent that she's been told she is a "key worker". Apparently it was added in revised list. Child was in today so must be right....
  9. It's crazy. If they are coming in, then they need to be herded into a nearby hotel/hub and kept there for 14 days without question. If this does not happen then we may as well just give up now.
  10. Not just in Bristol. At least one report I've seen here in Essex saying similar around here. People are the biggest problem with all of this. Boris isn't doing enough, it needs enforcing, not advising. People are the biggest issue though, selfish, obnoxious, pig ignorant lady gardens. The sooner we're on lockdown the better.
  11. Last one I had, I played along for about 5 minutes, even getting passed onto the "higher power". You could virtually hear him rubbing his hands and counting the money as I laid it on really thick, saying about the emotional and physical anguish I was under. How it had caused me to lose my job, house, wife and family. Then he asked what the longterm effects would be.... "Well I lost both my arms, legs, broke my neck, back and was taken away from the scene in a few body bags." He then had the cheek to say that I was wasting his time, to which I replied "good, less time for you to scam a vulnerable elderly person then you *horrible person you*" Haven't had a phone call since. Shame really.
  12. Wouldn't be so sure. My wife is a teacher, and teaches a mixed year 1/2 class. They usually watch newsround at some point in the afternoon, and the Coronavirus was mentioned in it. Her words to me the other day were "I thought I'd ask them what/if they knew anything about it, whilst not expecting much." She said the answers she was given were mind blowing. They told her loads about it - what it was, that it was mainly elderly and people with certain illnesses at the biggest risk, people were dieing because of it (but mainly if they fell in the last bracket), started in Wuhan which caused lockdown, then Italy - lockdown, US, here, hand washing was needed. Oh yeah, and that it may have been caused by someone eating a bat!! All of this coming from, mainly 5 to 7 year olds. Don't be fooled into thinking they aren't taking it in. They are.
  13. Working in a school myself, I can confirm that there is a daily email that is being sent to all schools with the latest updates/advice. This is literally changing daily!! We have parents keeping children off "as a precaution", then in some cases, will keep them off for 2 days, send them in for one day, and then keep them off for a other 2+ days. The one day they do come in "mum had to go somewhere". Unfortunately this is a small group of parents, who's children only have to do so many days of the normal school term..... The number of emails/phone calls from parents asking for updates is unreal. It also doesn't help when you have WhatsApp groups that say something like "schools closing this week" which in turn causes no end of problems!! @Ska Junkie - I saw that video the other day, thought it was great!!
  14. It's already started. I'm a site manager in a school in Essex, went to order a few boxes through Screwfix last week for my cleaners - none in stock anywhere local to me. Have had to order through Amazon and hope they get to me at some point this week. I've also had 4 boxes of hand soap on order for about 3 weeks, they've been delayed until Tuesday (supposedly). It's not the virus that's going to close schools, it's the lack of basic supplies you need to have to enable the kids to wash their hands!!
  15. Although not linked, kind of ironic that the first year they have a winter break the season gets interupted at the end of winter....
  16. Police have barely got enough resources to deal with current day to day issues.
  17. Sorry if anything similar has been posted already, but started writing this on another thread and thought it would be better on here. If this goes on for as long as some predict (minimum 14 weeks or so), they may just cancel it as things stand (or null and void it?) When you look at Liverpools lead, it does seem crazy that it can end and they win nothing, but on the other hand if it's cancelled as things stand, how can you award Liverpool (and all other league leaders) the title(s) and then relegate all teams currently in the relegation zone(s), when they can realistically still get out, or get pulled in? There is no fair, or easy decision. I think the only way to please everyone, is that the season carries on when possible, and the next season(s), start a bit later. Then I guess you get into contract/sponsorship contracts though. Let's be fair though, in the grand scheme of things, it's not the most important issue in the world is it!?
  18. To be fair, the fairgrounds kit will probably be better quality and a lot more substantial. Doubt that they'd want to take that crap with them..
  19. Personally think that Semenyo isn't good enough for this level (basing on what I've seen of him). There is potential, but he needs a good, prolonged period of scoring at a lower level, and then slowly integrated into our first team squad providing he does well out on loan. The last time he was in and around the side, it was on the back of his decent loan spell (amid Chelsea rumours) but to be fair he was basically being used as we had no other options, and failed to get a decent striker in during the previous window. It was a gamble that failed. Hope I'm proved wrong, but I think he's more likely to end up in League 2, maybe a mid table League 1 side.
  20. But you can't own more than one football league club? Also why would he want to buy Rovers when his own Rovers could very easily overtake them in the next year or so.
  21. So that's how he got the move - they were acter somebody else. They'll be gutted when they realise they've signed the useless Gas donkey that is Tom Nichols then...
